Egypt Star Bakery, Allentown PA

Grew up in Allentown, and Egypt Star was on our way home from church. We would stop and get a bag full of crullers, and the ones we didn't eat in the car (with powdered sugar flying about) we would have with coffee at home. Just got a bag of Egypt Star crullers, courtesy of a visiting niece who still lives in the Allentown area. Like a wonderful trip back in time (WAY back!). Perfect crullers! (Crullers: Only in Pennsylvania, only in Allentown, only at Egypt Star!) Thanks for the continuity!

My Irish Pop and Polish Granny lived.in the Ward and would always take me to the Front St store and always would say your breads and baked goods taste like back in the "Old Country". At the time I wasn't sure what they meant but I do NOW. Neuwiler beer had a motto of "Nix Besser". Well that should also be Egypt Stars motto. "None Better"
Since I now live in Whitehall I shop at your Coplay store and (not sure about using names) but the Lady at Coplay is the Best. Always has the time to explain the various "goodies" and makes sure if I have a special order that it's correct and on time. Keep up the Great work!

Horrible! I’ve requested a cake with specifics. I’ve wanted a (2) layer cake with very little frosting. Again, very clear in my cake order. Instead I receive a cake with frosting layer that was more than the cake itself. Cake also was lopsided, very sloppy on how it was made. Overall, very disappointing… not what I was expecting from a bake shop. This looks like something a lay person can do at home. NOT what a professional bake shop product. A mess.

So my husband went here early morning for me because i have been craving fresh donuts and they closed yesterday evening, so the crack of dawn he was there for donuts, maybe 2 hours later he went back and bought whatever they had left.this is my first time and it was great it reminds me of the Easton bakery.

So delicious! Best donuts around Allentown for sure. They are so fluffy. The frosted cinnamon rolls are out of this world.
The lady behind the counter was almost as sweet as the pastries. I don't know how they pack so much goodness in such a tiny store. But I love it!

I consider myself quite the baked goods connoisseur, but this place still blew our taste buds away. The cream slices (I would fight a T-Rex for that recipe) are beyond divine, and the cookies were perfectly chunky. The store front isn't "gorgeous" or modern, but don't let that fool you. The staff are friendly and the foods are amazing! We went two days in a row, and are totally planning on a third before we head home. Trust me, you want to get some baked goods from here.

Gotta try their sticky buns! Yum! Stopped here on way home. Great memory for my husband who when a young boy looked forward to his mom bringing sticky buns from here. Love the nostalgia of the sign!

Best bakery! Have been going there since I was a kid. Love their cheese buns. Great cakes and the bread is always fresh.

Great bakery with awesome baked goods and fabulous employee's. I make it every Sunday for the special white icing cinnamon buns. Yummy.

I live in Seattle now, and had my parents bring me Egypt Star donuts when they last visited. I've lived all over the country and haven't found better donuts than Egypt Star. They can't be beat.
That's not to mention their amazing poppyseed rolls, melt-in-your-mouth nut rolls, and their fantastic birthday cakes.
And their cupcakes.
And their cookies.
I would live in the Egypt Star bakery if they would let me.

I needed a birthday cake for the 4 of July. I couldn't make up my mind so I bought two different flavors! Both were delicious and everyone loved them. Egypt Star Bakery is a favorite snack stop while bike riding with friends!

Love Egypt Star Bakery! As a child I would visit the Coplay store.memories of the smell of the fresh baked bread (rye bread, of course), doughnuts (cream filled, the best hands down).

To this day, visit the Emmaus store, still the best breads, doughnuts, and defiantly the addition of some of the former Emmaus Bakery goodies. Definitely, miss the smell of the goodies being baked there. Has not been a deterrent for me!

Ordered a custom cake, wanted it to look exactly like the cake from Harry Potter. I even gave the gentleman a photo, but when I got the cake, it was lumped at the top, the frosting was indented, and it looked literally nothing like the picture. This would have been fine for me, but it was for my mom's birthday.

Service is always excellent even when they have a full house.the service was very sociable and kind.this place has a nice atmosphere.

This is by far, the best bakery in the Lehigh Valley! I am never disappointed. And, the service is always pleasant and friendly. Thank you for all that you do!
