El Canelo Mexican Restaurant, Erie PA

Had a family birthday party and the waitress and additional staff were more than accommodating to our additional guests when they arroved. The waitress worked her tail off all night serving not only our party of 13, but the entire restaurant with just one other waitress. Great job & thank you for everything!

The food is decent. Not the best, not the worst. I always have friendly service. The atmosphere and cleanliness is exactly the way it is in Mexico. Either you will like or or hate it.
My only complaint is the 3.75:/: charge for using a card. There are NO sign’s telling you this until your standing at the register to check out! And, it’s hand written on a small piece of paper.

We eat here often and everyone is always nice and friendly, great food and not too long of a wait. Could use more cheese on the tacos but other than that everything's perfect. Recommend place for me

The food here is decent Mexican, good but not great. They have not changed the menu for years or upgraded the interior ever. The atmosphere is poor due to old furnishings and sections of the restaurant where it is in disarray. It is inexpensive, and the free chips are good. Good place for a quick lunch.

Overall, not well pleased. Long wait time after ordering my dinner. Table dirty, not clean. Basket holding nacho chips dirty. Waited almost an hour for my food to come. Ate some nacho chips and salsa.

There were many Stains on Ceiling, very dark inside and not welcoming environment. Not considering coming back here again. Had to take my food as take out. Not worth staying and can’t enjoy my food. Left with my takeouts after paid the bill. Not coming back!

Worst tamales I've ever had. The beans were like soup. Chips burnt. The food was awful place was dingy.

Worst food and atmosphere imaginable. Their kid was our server and he did great. We got dirty dishes and silverware came after our food also dirty.

The great restaurant with a traditional Mexican Cafe feel. Their food is the usual Mexican Fair but is awesome prepared well and never disappoints. They also have drink specials the beer is cold. Great place to get a good meal and a drink.

Good food fair prices the waitress was very sweet and kept checking on us. It's the 2nd time I've ate lunch there and I will go back for sure.

We literally drove 2000 miles back home to Erie and the very first place we went was here. Yeah, it’s that good. We moved to a US/Mexico boarder town and can not find Mexican food better than El Canelo’s anywhere!

We live to go here regularly and they always have quick and delicious food. I usually get the nacho fajita chicken and I ask to add chorizo. But no matter what I've tried everything was delicious or at bare minimum sub par.

We've been going to El Canelo for 15 years. Always good food and great service at de ent prices.

I am mexican, so I can tell food is so so, is not bad but there is nothing memorable about it.
