Great location downtown and really walkable. The downside is there's an "interesting" crowd out after 9pm. But that's the neighborhood, not the hotel.

Upside is the staff were friendly and the rooms are spacious. Downside is the "vibe" of the hotel is very.earthy? Not sure how to describe it, but when all the snacks in the restore are Sahale, Kind etc.sometimes you don't want to walk to the 7/11 2 blocks away. In the rooms themselves I noticed stains on our box spring, some damage to a wall and a complete lack of drawer space to unpack.

It's a nice enough hotel, but it seems like they may be prioritizing "trendy" (filtered water in the sink, boho vibe in lobby) over substance.

This is purely a review of the valet service. I stayed at the element for roughly two-ish weeks and valeted my car throughout the stay.

The valet team was wonderful as was the hotel staff throughout my stay.

The issue is that one of the days, the valet team double parked my car and I got a parking ticket. The valet team suggested I bring it to the front desk because it happens all the time, so they will pay it for me.

I head to the front desk, the girl happily took the ticket and said she will have it paid. She said this happens all the time, not to worry.

So I didn’t and assumed it would be paid.

Fast forward to a few weeks later and I get a late notice from parking authority explaining that ticket had not been paid.

I reached out to the hotel, they passed me around to several different people, finally Monica took my information and promised I’d be compensated for the cost of the ticket.

Well it’s been 2 weeks since she and I spoke, I’ve co tinted to follow up with her, however I’ve yet to receive any sort of resolution.

Very frustrating.

I stayed for one night using the Discover Philly package from November 28th to 29th. The cost of accommodation indicated on the Bonvoy App at the time of reservation was approximately $378.
At the time of check-in, the front desk staff had no knowledge of what package or plan we had booked, so they gave us incorrect information about the check-out time. When I raised an objection to the information, they said they would reset the card key usage time, but at 11 o'clock the next day, the card key did not work. (Check-out time described in the package was 4pm)

In addition, the card amount authorized at check-in was approximately $446, which was larger than the amount advised at the time of reservation.
I inquired about the matter through APP chat on the morning of the 29th, and received a response saying that there was a mistake and that payment would be made at the amount originally announced at checkout.
However, the receipt I received at checkout showed it to be around $446, and it was only corrected after I raised an issue about it.
Although the hotel location and facilities were good, the staff seemed to be very unskilled, making it the most unpleasant experience during this trip.

Great place to stay, I will come back to this.
Service is caring, I arrived prior to check-in time, they allowed me to get in early. They clearly explained the terms and conditions for cleaning, access breackfast, etc. After checkout, they were able to hold my luggage secured while I had other things to do.
I stayed for 2 nights, the room was clean, bathroom is very spacious and confortable, bed was clean and confortable, complimentary tea and coffee in the room and a mini-fridge to keep snacks.
Good wifi speed for zoom meetings, confortable desk and chair.
Complimentary breakfast was enough to allow me to have a meal before starting my day.
Location is super good

I was very happy with my choice to stay at Element for Philadelphia Marathon weekend. I arrived a few hours early and not only was I able to check in early but was upgraded to a suite with a kitchenette. The suite was large and comfortable for my three-night stay. The hotel had everything I needed, including coffee in the room and the lobby and free breakfast. The staff was very friendly as well. The location was a quick walk from nearly everything in downtown Philly and extremely close to the SEPTA station which was perfect since I was coming from the airport. The bang for your buck here is great. Would highly recommend.

Started here for a work trip and it was pretty nice, accommodating, etc. The gym was well done and my room was pretty clean. My only gripes are the breakfast options and the shower cleanliness… if those were rectified, they’d be a prime spot.

Literally one of the best hotels we have stayed in! The staff is amazing and so helpful, the rooms are so comfortable and beautiful to the point that you feel your at home. The breakfast was complementary and delicious. And the location is perfect in the middle of it all. I highly recommend staying here!

My friends and I stayed here for a concert on halloween. Hotel was in close proximity to the venue and many places to eat and explore. The room was spacious and very modern. Sa' Niya was very professional and amazing! The rest of the staff I encountered were friendly as well. Sa'Niya was great, warm and friendly. Thank you for making our short stay memorable. 10/10 recommend this property!

Terrible all around. Juan the manager and his people were very rude and unhelpful. The cleaners at least were good.

Absolutely useless! They charge you the full price even though the hotel has been prepaid; when you ask for reimbursement they say it's just an authorization except that the money is no longer in your bank account. And the worst thing is that when you check-in, they don't warn you: it's you who sees it on your account by surprise!
No sense of service, no proposal for a solution, they don't care and say that they are giving them guarantees even if they were the ones who made the mistake!
Avoid at all costs!

Stayed there for my grandson's birthday so we could go to Sesame Place. He just happened to be wearing a new t-shirt that proclaimed him the Birthday Boy. The check in person asked how old he was turning? We told the person. We came back at the end of the day to find balloons and cake in the room! He loved it. Especially since we had a tradition of having balloons in his room at home when he wakes up. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The location was central to everything.

Great location centrally located within a mile of a lot of restaurants, bars, and other attractions. Rooms are nice and comfortable. The free breakfast daily is impressive! Service was good.

Urgent: Life-Threatening Elevator Incident at Element Downtown Philadelphia

To the Marriott Bonvoy/Element Downtown Philadelphia Customer Service,

I am a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, and I find it imperative to immediately address a harrowing incident that occurred upon my check-in at the Element Downtown Philadelphia October 26th evening.

Upon receiving our room key, we got on the elevator to our accommodation on the 30th floor. While sharing the elevator with another couple, who disembarked on the 29th floor, the unthinkable transpired. The elevator inexplicably ascended briefly, only to plummet down to the 29th floor with a bone-rattling impact. This terrifying freefall repeated itself multiple times, sending shockwaves of fear through us.

In our desperate attempt to summon assistance, I engaged the emergency red call button. The indicator light blared to life, yet there was no response. Once more, the elevator soared upwards before plunging down, this time halting abruptly on the 15th floor. I pressed the red call button anew, to no avail. In a last-ditch effort to regain control, I frantically pressed the button for the 2nd floor, and, mercifully, the elevator descended to the designated floor.

Our immediate response was to report this life-endangering elevator malfunction to the front desk. The receptionist, recognizing the gravity of the situation, ushered us to the 30th floor via a different elevator.

The unforgivable nature of this incident is beyond comprehension. It is unequivocally unacceptable that your establishment placed the lives of its patrons in peril. I insist on knowing the immediate and comprehensive measures you are taking to rectify this egregious lapse in safety and to prevent such a grievous incident from happening again.

I anticipate your prompt response, outlining the actions and improvements that Marriott Bonvoy/Element Downtown Philadelphia will undertake to ensure the safety and well-being of its guests.

Terrible service. No room service. They’ll lose your packages and won’t notify you. Lack of regular cleaning. Dirty plates and dishes in the room when I checked in

I am an executive business partner for a tech company in Silicon Valley, that lives in Manhattan. AKA - I have a sick fun job and what I consider exquisite taste

In my 15 year career of planning corporate offsite meetings - I have never had such a smooth event. The genuine kindness and professionalism of the ENTIRE staff was so incredible it was almost overwhelming. I was presented with a folio of my event upon checking in. That was just the beginning of the glory (usually, I get the folio at the end).

The IT associate greeted me and tested all of the equipment and remained available at a moment's notice throughout the event, as did the banquet manager, and various members of the staff that were kind, present and so incredibly helpful that I honestly could have run the event from my hotel room, which was also awesome!

I struggled to select a hotel - as I tend to be a bit selective and thought I would prefer the neighboring / attached "W" hotel which cost approx. $200 more a night. I opted for the Element due to price and because it was on brand and I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN HAPPIER.

The meeting spaces were exceptional. Quiet, temperature appropriate and able to be adjusted as we requested. The food was excellent and banquet staff were quick to adjust the amounts when we blew through the cauliflower gratin

It was also great to have the W next door and attached so that we could have team drinks late at night (their bar stays open longer than the Element) and it was an awesome change of scenery.

Overall, my team and most importantly, my boss were thrilled with the entire event. Rooms were spacious and super convenient with the individual kitchens and the Marriott staff was simply wonderful throughout it all.

Special thanks to Jose Canales, our event manager, The A/V technician, Jared, the director of banquets Chelsea Ludwick and John from banquets who made sure we got that cauliflower gratin

Thanks to all involved for a wonderful experience!

Pros: varied and pretty good breakfast (disgusting powdered eggs, though), on-site staff are great, pleasant evening happy hour; room appeared mostly clean.

Cons: they will charge your incidentals card for your entire pre-paid stay, leaving you a mess to sort out; customer service by phone or internet is mostly unreachable, repeatedly getting rid of you by transferring to a dead-end busy signal; room not vacuumed before arrival and prior occupant had done extensive toenail clipping; room service visits infrequently and does little when they do. Avoid like the plague.
