Elmwood Park Zoo reviews
13Not as wheelchair accessible as it claims. Map was also wrong which made it worse since it was supposed to show which paths were easier to navigate (they've moved things and renovated since it was printed). Many of the exhibits seemed too small to be healthy for the animals and the jaguar was so stressed it was depressing.
It’s a small zoo. There are lots of activities for kids. Very well maintained play ground for the kids.
Good place to visit with young kids. The zoo entrance is very far from the parking. The play area at the entrance is very big. There are plenty of options for kids to play. Live music makes the ambiance more than perfect. Good food as well as fresh ice cream options.
Our first time here. It was a very cute and well maintained zoo. Heard they are expanding across the creek and excited to com back once that's all completed
I wouldn’t recommend this zoo, the tickets are too expensive to see that small amount of animals there, it’s more about to spend more $ inside the zoo for carousel ride one for 5$ and food etc. There is unreal to find parking spot, we went on Friday 11AM and couldn’t get parking spot for 30 minutes.
I performed here for a back to school event with Bubbletopia LLC. It's a very nice, clean zoo. It's not huge, but the animals and exhibits they do have are great. Perfect for kids, families, seniors, you name it.
Beautiful animals in attractive settings.
Nicely spread out, shaded areas.
Stunning carousel, nice playground.
Great family or date night.
Family friendly. They have done a lot of updating of the enclosures. There are lots of extras to do for a little zoo but most all at an extra price.
Son loves it (1-3 yrs). We try to come monthly. Great small zoo and perfect outing for little ones (1-2 hrs). Giraffe feeding is fun. Like to bring snacks to enjoy on picnic tables under covered area. Worth the annual pass!
We love Elmwood! Perfect for parents with young kids. It's big enough to be interesting but small enough to walk around in 90 minutes. There's an awesome playground that's completely fenced in so you can let your feral children loose. There's a cool music garden that my kids love. There's a nice selection of animals that you really get a good view of. You can even feed the giraffes!
Visited the zoo off hours for an a special art exhibit. Most of the animals were already in their inside living quarters. There were a few animals out though.
It is the perfect sized zoo to visit during regular hours. But, the seasonal and special events they host are worth checking out.
Fun zoo! Can get thru it all within 3 or so hours. Lots to do for the children. The highlight is the feed the Giraffes since you can get so close. The only annoying part is that they only give you 2 Lettuce leaves. Wish it was at least 3 maybe 4. But overall, fun zoo.
Cute little zoo with some fun animals and a very family friendly environment. They have decent food and drink options too so parents can enjoy the day as much as the kids!
