Empire Beauty School, Philadelphia PA

The student I had was wonderful and she was about to graduate. I was her first sew-in but she did my hair exactly like the picture I showed her. The reason I can't give them five stars is because the school charged me $85. It wasn't bundle hair it was simple pack hair. For that I won't return for a sew-in. I was told a different price on the phone.

Today I came to get my hair washed and curled. The young lady was nice and friendly. She seemed ro do my hair. I was only her second client. My roots were puffy. She asked the teacher to help her 3 times but no one helped her. She couldnt figure out home to get to my roots so it looks like I have a curly bush.

Went for first time they are ok! Prices are really high especially for sew in and weaves. Prices are not competitive at all considering that it’s a school and these are students (who are not being paid). The stylist I had was friendly and wanted to know so much about me to the point it was uncomfortable. Probably won’t come back! I can get better quality for same price if not cheaper!

I wish every phone call I made to a business establishment went this way. She was very welcoming and warm hearted. I don't think she really knows just how much her kindness has made my day! My daughter will be attending this location and I am absolutely over joyed that she will be in the company of such wonderful people like Ms. Edens. She went above and beyond! Her customer service is absolutely Stellar. I could not thank her enough. Keep up the Great Work Ms. Edens, the world needs more people like you!

Came in for mani/pedi. Arrived 5: 18 was asked to have a seat as they don't start until 5: 30. At 5: 32 receptionist asked me to sign in. While waiting, one of the students went across to 5below for supplies. This should've been my first sign. I filled out their chemical waiver form shortly after 6 and was finally sent to chair which wouldn't adjust, so she added more water for my feet to be submerged. It was evident they don't train/prepare students on pedicure services and she told the staff she wasn't happy with her assignment. Despite, she was courteous. No base coat, no top coat barely scrubbed off dead skin. Definitely not the best pedicure ever had, but $15, you get what you pay for. Didn't get mani, won't return to rate any other services. Had high hopes, wasn't expecting top salon service, but left super disappointed at 7: 00pm.

I worked all day called them and they said yes we can do your hair after work as long as I get there before 6: 45 I arrived at 6: 00 only to get there and these chicks talking about they cant do my hair because they dont have enough students and they going out tonight so they couldn't stay to service me

So you mean to tell me these women, pay for school and not learn proper customer service skills or held accountable for their appearance? Honey, their setting you up for failure. Shut it down, based on these reviews.

I’ve been in 3 times trying to get info for services. Once I called ahead and was told the wrong time, so they were closed by the time I got there. The other two times the front desk down stairs acted annoyed that I was asking basic questions and was incredibly unhelpful. I hope the students have a more positive experience than I have had.

Horrible.my hair is uneven with one side up to my ear and the other to my neck.the ombre is bad.dont go there.ever.

I was there for over a half hour, finally left and came back and was there for another hour. The receptionist was very kind and polite, but I couldnt even get to see the lady who does nails. I cant waste that much time.

I went here for the first time today and I was beyond happy with my experience! Everyone was super friendly and the girl did an amazing job! I will definitely return.

Xavier is the guy to ask for when getting a fade or clipper cut. Very professional. Be careful asking for Andrew everybody thinks he’s the best but I’m sure he clipped my one side shorter to be spiteful.

This is beauty school is unprofessional, ghetto, rude, and have bad customer service, because I was interested in getting my hair done by them. The secretary of the school gave me an attitude and hung up on me. Now, I refuse to get my here done by them and find another location. If you reading this, it's a shame that you know how to loose a customer.

I went to this school in April 2011 for full-time classes. I DO NOT recommended anyone to go here. The students are all adults but act like their children. There's no order in this school. Students texting, talking, yelling in the halls. As well as there is no security. Anyone can just walk in or around the school without a problem.

Just came back from Empire. It was a good experience. I was in and out for a wash/hair trim and style and I cant complain. The students there are really good. I would definately go back for quick service and low cost. My hair is bouncing. I love it. The teacher walked around and talked to the student as he was doing my hair. The environment was fairly friendly. Better than sitting in a salon for 5+ hours waiting for the same thing.

I was there for a pedicure and it was something I will do again. The guy took his time and scrubbed my feet, massaged and the paint job he did was excellent! I will be there again!
Ps this guy is a great student and does an excellent job on even haircuts!

Don't get your hair done there if you have natural hair the girl who did my hair didn't even know how to use a flat iron and she kept bragging about how she was about to graduate. I actually went to this location to enroll and decided to see what they had to offer but after seeing nothing but ratchets and getting bad looks and hearing nothing but gossip in the 3 hours that it look this lady to was and curl my hair I would give it no stars if I could I decided to go to Jean Madeline Aveda
