Erie Art Museum reviews
17We took advantage of the free Museum day (which I think is Wednesday but call to check as I'm not sure if they still offer it). You'll want to be sure to catch it when there's a show or special going on or it will be kind of sparse. There's almost always classes being offered fire kids & adults. Price varies according to the class.
Love this place. Beautiful artwork and a very chill atmosphere. It's also in a great location. Perfect place to visit on a lazy Sunday.
Great venue for private gatherings and a gem for its stated purpose: check out all of the great art housed at the Erie Art Museum! Download the MeterEZ app to get convenient access to pay downtown Erie parking meters. Cheap and easy!
Beautiful museum, very affordable memberships, great programming, and always circulating well-curated shows.
Outstanding art museum in Erie Pa. Lived the diversity of art and by the artists. I was there for a private event
Great place
The staff goes above and beyond to assist.
Highly recommend to visit.
We had our wedding here in Aug 2022 and we were incredibly happy with the entire process. Our wedding coordinator (and wearer of many hats at EAM) Laura F was an absolute delight to work with. She was professional, kind, and proactive. Anytime there was an update or decision to be made, Laura was on it. She even made sure the groom got an empanada at the end of the night before they were gone because she knew he was excited about them. I hope that everyone has a Laura to wedding plan with.
The space itself is excellent for a ceremony and reception and allows for a lot of flexibility. Our guests were able to relax by the bar or on the patio, wander the museum, or take it to the dance floor. Highly recommend EAM to anyone who's looking for a unique wedding venue in Erie.
My husband and I just had our wedding at the Erie Art Museum. Laura F was INCREDIBLE to work with and the art museum was the most
perfect venue. We utilized multiple spaces / rooms, all the art was left up for our guests to admire, and the spaces were transformed to host our wedding beautifully. If you want a venue that makes you feel like you have transported to a high end event space in downtown Chicago, I HIGHLY recommend having it at the Erie Art Museum. Laura, we cannot thank you enough! Our day was perfect and we cannot stop reminiscing about it.
The museum was interesting, staff was friendly. The art for sale was plentiful. Located in a nice, busy area with lots to eat & drink around it. Lots of construction going on right now which made it challenging to find the entrance due to street closures
It was a nice way to spend about an hour - I would say however that the place is really more of an art gallery than a museum. Most pieces are for sale - so then I wondered why we had also to pay to get in.
Nice art GALLERY. This is not a museum - there is little or no permanent collection, the majority of the work is contemporary, local, and for sale.
It's always getting new exhibits and changing throughout the year. Adults and children alike will find it to be a fruitful journey for their imagination and a feast for their eyes!
Lovely museum. I first visited here when I came to Erie on a trip in high school. Now that I live here I still stop in to check out the art. It is just a really nice place to spend some time at.
Very inspirings, beautiful and awesome arts. Three reasons to visit because I will find more excuses to keep coming back.
Honestly, I'm no expert. I don't really know art, and haven't been to many art museums. However, if a city has a beautiful, historic art museum, wouldn't you think that's where the art would be? Instead, what little art there is, is in a new building. You can't even enter the main building. Further, with how expensive admission is, you'd assume there would be more variety to the art. Not so much. Honestly, very disappointing.
All of the artists installations are worth a long pause. The energy in this small venue I very powerful. Next time I might come alone so that I might linger a bit more. Thank you.
