I love this place.we will definitely be staying here again. Despite the unhappy night lady at the desk when we checked in the overall stay was top notch.

My family and I had a terrific experience here.far better than any hotel and a better value! It really felt like a luxury experience and the cost was no higher than a typical three-star hotel. It's also hard to beat the location: right in the middle of downtown. My only complaint, really, is that parking was a bit of a pain. Having to validate each time I had to leave was not ideal, and I'd hope they come up with a better system. Other than that, this was lovely, and I will be recommending this to anyone visiting Pittsburgh.

I love doing security at this site. From what I can see the guest seem nice and the front desk ppl and house keeping ppl seem nice. I'm always doing my best to come to work with a positive attitude and I do my best to be nice to everyone I come across. I enjoy coming to work and doing my rounds and enforcing hotel policy. I'm glad I got assigned to this site. I wouldn't mind me and my wife staying here sometime in the
Future as we stay in hotel's sometimes when I get time off. I met the owner's who seem really nice as well.

This is the absolutely the best hotel in Pittsburgh! Gorgeous rooms with large kitchens and you have your own washer and dryer. I recommend this to everyone!

My spouse fell due to step down into kitchen and no handrail. No railing on the 3 stairs into bedroom. Beware. There is no restaurant in the hotel.

Beautiful room, the common/game room is phenomenal. Its so so modern and beautifully decorated. The game room is so large that several rooms could use this space and still have space to not feel crowded. Steven at the front desk is very personable and welcoming. The only reason not for 5 stars. The walls are very thin here. So, if any guests are partying or yelling, it sounds like they are in your room. Security will come if it gets too out of hand and handle that situation, so at least I found, if issue, swiftly handled.
The views are to die for. I will stay here again.

Overall an extraordinary property that will far excede your expectations!

Initially we were in one of the rooftop “penthouse” rooms, assuming it would be a nice treat. The studio style room was directly across from the rooftop basketball court and alongside the pet walkway and other activities provided for guests on the roof. For a few days we tried to like this room, as it was very spacious and lovely, but because the entire studio apartment was glass, there was literally no way to have privacy. We asked about getting the windows darkened which they did but still, when I walked out to the rooftop area and looked back into the room at night, I could still clearly see my wife standing in the bedroom waving at me. Very unsettling to say the least and did not exactly invoke the romantic, intimacy filled evenings I had imagined. We ended up keeping the lights almost completely off the entire time at night to get some kind of privacy but we could still tell that people could see us by their reactions. I really have no idea how I would be expected to feel comfortable in a bed surrounded by glass with people walking by just a few inches away from the glass looking around, and in some cases pointing to you and remarking to their companions that they can see you! To make matters worse, fhe flip side of this tinted glass system was that during the day, these smokey glass windows provided only a dreary, dull, dark and foreboding view of everything outside which was depressing after a while.

After a few days, I requested a downgrade from the penthouse. The “downgraded” room we were assigned on the 11th floor was actually a thousand times nicer than the penthouse! Our new room was literally one of the nicest, most thoughtfully designed hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in, a complete change from the original room!

I am so grateful to the nice young lady who helped us with this (believe her name is Saraha but not sure of the spelling) as I would have had a terrible impression of this property otherwise. She saved our vacation! Our new room provided bright wonderful views of the city from every room and the bedroom had built-in blinds although they were unneeded most times because nobody was walking by inches outside our window.

It appears the penthouse rooms are often reserved by groups to have lavish parties and things of this nature where they can open the big glass doors out onto the rooftop, enjoy the views and drink and party on the roof and these rooms are actually really well suited for for that purpose. If you’re looking for a more traditional room however, I recommend strongly you avoid any of the penthouse rooms. The studio penthouse room we had was actually small by comparison to the 11rh floor room, with all of the glass walls angled sharply to the ground so much of the floor space was too low to be usable and of course it suffered from the privacy issues I mentioned above.

When we left we had the distinct pleasure of being assisted by the regional sales manager Chris Homa who is obviously someone who knows his business well and takes it very seriously. Clearly our satisfaction was his main priority.

With all that said, the location of this hotel is perfect, the rooms are large and modern with great views, and the attached fitness club is absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be staying here again anytime we visit Pittsburgh but from now on will be skipping the penthouse!

Nice place to stay. Though the couch could have been replaced to keep up with the exc.living standard. But great place to stay.

Room was nice with a full kitchen and separate bedroom/bathroom. We had trouble with the parking situation because the front desk told us they are supposed to give us a pass to get in and out of the parking garage during our stay when we go to leave so we wouldn’t get double charged for parking. When we went to leave there was no one staffed to provide the pass so our option was to be double billed for parking or go back to our room for the rest of the night. We just wanted to go to the Casino due to lack of sleep to walk around, but if there was a reason to need to leave such as a flight/work/etc this would be a major problem and not guest friendly.

We recently stayed and had an amazing night, decided to book it for New Years. Made the reservation 3 weeks ago and was called today to be informed that they were canceling my reservation and not honoring it. We had planned our night around this and had guests staying in our 2 bed room. Salesman was very rude, as well as front desk when asked why, and wasn’t given a reason as to why. We have canceled our next stay in January already. Very rude, and horribly ran business.

I’ve stayed at the Etage several times. Steve at the front desk was always friendly, while the others at the front desk were quite unenthusiastic. We ordered prepared meals for the week and didn’t receive the food delivery since the front desk didn’t call our room to notify us or bring it up to our room. When we inquired about the delivery, the food had been sitting at the front desk for the day and had gone bad. During my most recent visit, I had issues with my hotel card not working in the elevator and asked the front desk for help on two occasions. On the second occasion, I told the front desk employee that I drove and asked her to add access to enter/exit their parking lot. She told me this was done. However, my hotel card didn’t open the gate when we tried to exit the parking lot. Luckily, my boyfriend’s card did work. Before I left the Etage again, I told the front desk that my card still wasn’t working in their parking lot. The employee told me to push the “help” button at the gate, and that she would buzz the gate to let me out. When I pushed the “help” button later, a rude woman (someone different from the person I spoke with) answered and told me that I needed a parking pass, but she would let me out this one time. Great! But the gate didn’t open after she hung up. So, I pushed the “help” button again and the same woman answered and was surprisingly irritated and mean. She hung up on me a few more times, refusing to let me out of their parking lot and arrogantly shouted at me to “take it up with management! ”. I had to pay $30 to exit their parking lot since another car was waiting behind me. I tried looking for an email on the Etage’s website to contact them privately, but found none. So, posting my review here. Judging from the employee’s disrespectful attitude, I take it that management does not resolve any complaint?

Really nice hotel, 700 square foot furnished apartments, modern, clean, and good condition, fantastic gym. Okay location right in the middle of downtown, super convenient, near restaurants, but maybe just a little grungy too, so not for everyone.

I thought it was very rude that they don’t say in the website that you have to be 25 to book a room, and we did and we got there and nope we can’t stay. Annoying!
