Evergreen Cabins & Mercantile, Clarington PA

What a wonderful weekend escape from all the hussle of the holiday season. Best internet service of all cabin areas we have camped elsewhere. The owners are wonderful people and I have to say their chocolate welcome package is yummy. I've never had chocolate covered S'mores before and I was missing out.

We stayed in #3 Black Bear. This is our new place to stay at Cook Forest! We’ve been to Cook’s several times and this is a hidden gem. I won’t stay anywhere else after this. The cabin was clean and nicely renovated. Had a nice gas wood burner. We liked the internet and smart tv because we like nature but don’t like completely roughing it. Location is great - the cabin feels private but you aren’t alone in the middle of nowhere. The mercantile has forgotten things available for purchase along with some lovely art. The host was attentive - even loaned us some towels when we forgot ours. Advice to people staying here: bring extra toilet paper, paper towels and blankets. Can’t wait to go back!

I traveled to cook Forest for the first time last week and had an amazing time. The cabin was rustic, but clean and technologically modern, the forest is amazing and Steve was a very attentive and accommodating host. I’ll definitely be making a return trip!

Had a great time, beautiful cabin. The beds were a little rough on me but otherwise great vacation.

Awesome get away for me and my friends. Stayed at River house couldn't have been happier with the location. Plenty of sleeping space good wifi and ac. Definitely will go back. 10/10

The Cabin and location are very nice. However, be prepare to be watched and listened to via numerous cameras throughout the property. The owner will likely even text you about what you are doing. Again the cabin was very nice and an enjoyable place to be besides constant surveillance from the owner. Being watched is not my idea of “camping” in Cooks Forest.

Nothing was said that your cameras were not within your rights, I just wanted others to know that them and their families may be watched as well. We did not exceed 8 guests most of which were family. Banging that you mentioned was splitting wood on a stump, not uncommon at a cabin. Finally I would defy you to say anything other than we left your cabin in the exact condition we found it. Toilet, floors, countertops cleaned, beds made. I reviewed that your property is very nice, but the over use of cameras is creepy. You were aware that we were having a very mellow party, and at nearly $800 for 1 night (we all had to leave to work before the next night) you made out just fine. Part of being in a service business is not every review will be 5 stars.

We stayed in cabin #9 for the weekend. It was super clean, well stocked. Staff was very welcoming, check in/out instructions were very detailed. The mercantile had everything we could’ve needed and great ice cream. Will definitely be back!

Overall an ok place to stay.room was nice, super clean and cozy.but location at #7 cabin was literally off the street.could hear traffic from the street, no view except looking into the woods, and the cabin BARELY had security.the cabin we stayed in had two sets of doors.the main door that lead into a very small front outside room ONLY had a knob lock.no dead bolt.no latch, no chain.nothing.the other door that takes you into the cabin had NO LOCKS! ALSO.the back sliding glass door that leads to the outside rear had NO LOCKS of any kind.and the fence was enclosed with a gate door that also DID NOT LOCK.mind you the deck is barely off the ground.since dealing with the public and the wildlife that roam around the area.having this kind of security is unacceptable in my opinion.will not be coming back.

My Wife and I just had a 5 night stay here and just can't say enough great things. The cabin was very nice and super clean. The Internet was very fast and we were able to stream on multiple devices with no issues. The owners and staff were very attentive and accommodating. The property itself is very well kept and we were able to experience both nice Spring weather and a very pretty snowfall on the same trip. Evergreen Cabins, thank you for a wonderful stay and we can't wait to come back!

Stayed in sugar bear. Was very peaceful stay and relaxing weekend, soft bed and cozy fireplace. Only downside I had was no way to lock back door. Would rebook again.

Convenience store is always clean and fully stocked! They have a beautiful little gift shop inside as well!

Great stay in the middle of Pennsylvania woods, surrounded by incredible nature I felt like in a fairytale. We came for the Groundhog Day and stayed at cabin #8 Honey Bear, very private and pleasant. Loved jacuzzi next to the fireplace and amazing view from a panoramic window. Very cozy and quite. When we arrived the owned gifted us a welcome chocolate candy box! Also we got very detailed instructions on what to bring and what to take care of before the check-out.

Evergreen Cabins are beautiful! The owners and staff are friendly and attended to our every needs. The cabins were very clean, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this place if you want an enjoyable getaway with friends or family!

There are new owners and they are Ah-mazing! We came and the owner gave us a heads up that someone might have left something in the fridge and there might be a smell. Before we even checked in they offered a different cabin and at the very least a scent warmer. The cabin was spotless and there was no smell at all.
The next day we asked if there were cancelations for another night. There was actually an upgrade to a bigger cabin. We were so grateful to have another night. The owner texted and surprised us with a complimentary stay for our patience.
5-star hospitality. We are now forever customers and will be back again.
