Extreme Adventure Travel Outfitters, Lehighton PA

Just finished a damn release day with Extreme Adventure Travel Outfitters and had an awesome day! Our tour guides were Jamie and Sean who were both outstanding and went above and beyond! Sean took pictures of us rafting throughout the day and has already emailed them to us! Took 10 girls to celebrate our daughters sweet sixteen and had a blast! So happy we went with them! They are a much smaller tour company then the others and we received very personalized attention and we were able to take the day at our own pace. We had a great day rafting and swimming and hanging out at lunch! The shuttle was a super easy 10 min ride up the river with no wait and the rafting finished at our cars with changing areas so super easy! Highly recommend them.

Ian and Buddy were awesome. I will admit we were a bit turned off when we arrived at the parking lot. (get what you pay for feeling.) They were the cheapest we'd seen.but all that went out the door once we arrived in Jim Thorpe and met our River Guides. Ian and Buddy gave us an awesome experience on the river. Helped us navigate the river with ease. The experience was worth so much more the the prices charged! The water was great. It was great exiting the rafts and being at our car. No bus trip in wet clothes to get back to our car! Can't wait for our next trip up there.will recommend this place to everyone!

My group of 6 newbies to rafting did the damn release tour yesterday. Jamie and Lisa were our guides, they gave clear safety instructions, very reassuring! Had a great first experience, would definately recommend this company!

We went rafting for the first time as a family and we had great time! Our guide Lisa was professional. She gave us a wonderful experience!

Buddy was our guide for rafting on the Lehigh. We were given a high-quality raft/boat and he gave instructions from his kayak. He was awesome and went out of his way in every way possible to make the trip the best it could be. We loved every minute of the adventure! It was worth every penny! Don't forget to save some money to tip your guide at the end if they have done their job well.

Just finished our first whitewater experience and couldn’t have asked for a better intro! Our guide, Angie, made sure we got the most out of the sections and knew just where to go and hit each rapid for some thrills. We can’t say enough about how personal our experience was with Extreme Adventure; in contrast to the hoards of blue, green, and orange rafts from the “big guys” outfitters, which were being herded down the river like cattle with guides barking orders. Our experience was so much better, cost less, and felt like rafting with a good friend who knows her stuff and grew up here! Got great tips on local places to eat and things to see while we are here, to boot! Give Extreme Adventure a try if you’re looking for a personal experience and a great time!

If you want an authentic guide and a fast pass like experience on the water, this is the place for you; if you want fancy web sitethat has faqs and easy booking, or a crowded bus, long lines, confusion and great marketing, go elsewhere.

4.5 stars. Guide was great. Rafts were brand new. If you are looking for no crowds and personalized experience these are the guys to pick. Upgraded shuttle would make it a 5 star experience. Overall great day on the water and had lots of fun. Give them a go and you’ll walk away smiling.

Took this trip with my friends. The river was not to fast but we still loved it. Had a nice swim as well. Lisa was our guide and she was great. Would recommend!

5 family members rafted with Extreme Adventure on 8/9/2021. The directions to the starting site were good. We piled into an old passenger van and went up to Lehighton to access the river. It was 4 miles but took a while b/c the water was low. The lunch stop was where we parked our car. At that point, they gave us the option of continuing for another 4 miles, or giving us tubes. The water was low and finishing that last 4 miles would have been slow-anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 hrs more. We chose not to do that and they refunded us $10/person b/c the trip was shortened. I appreciated that offer, especially as it isn't their fault the river was low. The first 4 miles was fun. It would be more fun with more water. They followed up with the refund with no prompting from me. Very good customer service. Also, our river guide, Brian, had a slew of bad jokes. It was competition for the dad in our boat, so there was that. Very good value and good people.

Very unprofessional, There are much better services in the area. Trip started in an early 90s van that was falling apart and had a funky smell to it. The river guide was the only redeeming part. Overheard owner/operator talking about a customer in a very negative way I will not repeat here. Dirty changing rooms that are the popup variety. No actual facility, or amenities. Website hard to navigate and filled with old, not up to date information.

Disappointed, not at all what I was expecting. They were running almost an hour behind, partly I suspect, because they keep taking people that just showed up with no reservations. As a result we did not do the regular river trip, they took a different was that really I would not call water rafting, I would call in canoeing on a inflated raft. Our 2 to 3 hour adventure was only 1 1/2 hours, which was fine with me since I was so disappointed. The two older gentleman working there were extremely nice hence the 2 stars!

I can't say enough great things about this outfitter! Friendly guides, genuinely love the outdoors and showing people the river. Their small size is a night and day improvement over Whitewater Challengers, Jim Thorp Adventures and Pocono Whitewater. Easy going, extremely safe but simple and straightforward safety briefing. No long lines of color coded passes to get life jackets or paddles or waiting for lunches. We were on the water 20 minutes after our meetup/start time.

Extremely fast shuttle, then the end is right where you parked! Guides were friendly, fun, local characters, who really brought the trip and river to life. Brand new equipment, 'self bailing' rafts, no nickel-and-dime "buy your photo" gimmicks or list of extra charges for this and that. This is the non-Disney version; a legit fun whitewater trip. The water and section of river we did had fewer big rapids but still plenty of excitement.

It was an amazing experience! Guide made the experience even better, very personable. Can wait to go back again from CT!
