Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Pittsburgh Neville Island reviews
18Good location if you have business in the immediate area; easy on/off to I-79. Nothing nearby as far as food, but the Speedway across the street is decent
I have been a member of Marriott Bonvoy for a few years, selecting Marriott by default. I booked a very short 1 night stay. I checked in by 10 PM or so. Immediately, I set up my laptop for an important meeting.
About 2 AM, I was shocked to see the state of the bidet in the rest room. I could see yellow brownish things (you know what I mean). Multiple flushes, no cleaning. This illustrates may be those things that are not taken care of, i.e. Cleaned for a few days. Yuck.
You may ask, "Did you complain? " I was damn tired and badly in need of sleep with an early 6.30 AM check out.
Other things: room was ok, breakfast options include Waffles, fruits, coffee, few juices.
My next visit, I will be extra careful.

On our recent trip to Pittsburgh – we decided to stay a little outside of the city centre – due to the high prices of hotel This summer. We found a reasonable price at the Fairfield Inn Neville Island.
The drive from the hotel to downtown Pittsburgh is a about 25 minutes – but the cost savings was worth it. Plus, the location of the hotel being on an island in the middle of the river – was very peaceful, and the views were lovely.
The rooms were very clean, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were a little thin and floppy.
The bathroom was nice – the shower was high, the bath tub was low. The room was a accessibility room consisting of numerous aids, including a low sink and toilet.
The breakfast was included in the price – and was a buffet style. There were a lot of people who took over the breakfast area – and made getting food challenging. The breakfast was mini omeletes, breakfast sausages, breads, cereals, yogurt, and waffles.
There was lovely patio for outdoor dining as well.
The gym was open, but the pool was under construction and thus closed. This seems to have been a very common issue with many hotels this summer.
The hotel is a nice place to stay. The front desk staff we all very nice and friendly. Roguetrippers enjoyed their stay at the Fairfield INn & Suites Neville Island
Free On site parking.
Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly, but the rooms need a little bit of help. Growing up, my family stayed at budget hotels.
Now that I live on my own, I figured a Marriott hotel would be a nice place to stay. I was pretty unimpressed when comparing it to the cost per night. The shower didn't drain, and there were stains on the rug and toilet. I was working remote with the "Do not disturb" sign on the door, but housekeeping tried to come in anyway.
Next time I'll save some money and stay at a budget hotel.
Service was fine. We booked this particular location because we remembered that it had a beautiful patio and fire pit with a stunning view of the river. The fire pit was broken and the riverbank was so overgrown there was no view.
Smelled awful and musty when we first came in the room, the room looked really old and bath tub floor was peeling off. I only care about cleanliness but was very disappointed and disgusted as both beds had hair and black specks all over when I pulled the comforter off. There is no way that the sheets were changed, you could tell by all the creases and wrinkles and all the DIRT! We had to ask the front desk for new sets of sheets which the front desk was apologetic for. There was also no shampoo and tissue paper in the bathroom.
Very dirty place. Room wasn't completely cleaned. Hotel in general wasn't all that clean.
The hotel was great! All the amenities made the stay that more enjoyable.the carpets could use a little more attention, but other than that it was good.
Customer service, front desk, breakfast crew and house keeping were all amazing! Breakfast had a nice variety of foods everyday. Perfect for pre hike fueling. We were expecting a larger room with a couch for our 3rd person but we're accommodated with a roll out which worked out fine. The pool was cold, which my grandson didn't mind.braver than his Gigi. Enjoyed our stay very much!
The breakfast was ok the bacon was not cooked all the way they under cooked it and it was basically raw so we had to finish cooking it in the microwave they kept running out of everything and the biggest issue the pool the pool was filthy not clean had food and crumbs and alot of hair in the water so we had to keep asking to have it cleaned the jucuzzi was of course out of order they staff as far as maintenance was not on top of things the only ones doing they job was housekeeping and front desk that's it if your passing through this will be ok for time being not a extended stay
Nothing bad to say about this Fairfield Inn. I can't understand why there were some negative reviews. It was very clean. Check-in went smoothly, very nice breakfast, furniture was up to date, the bedding all seemed newer as did the bathroom linens. We would definitely stay there again.
The room was ok. Mattress was stiff as a board. Make sure you pack food because there's not a restaurant around for miles.
The staff were amazing.but the pool and patio were a huge let down. My kids love to swim. The pool area was dingy and the water was gross. The hot tub (not even in the pictures was boarded up as well. The patio was also a big let down. Weeds all over, broken pavers around the fire pits and cigarette butts around. It was a quiet location and not a busy hotel. But I wouldn't stay here again.
It was actually alot nicer than I expected. The only thing is.sorry guy u were working hard but u cant cook. Breakfast was not too yummy. So many people were getting waffles that the line took forever and they ran out of batter.
First room smelled awful. Requested a change and was placed in a room with mold growing up the bathroom wall. This is the 2nd time, 4 years apart staying here with the same issues. We will not return for $165 a night. I will spend my money elsewhere. Makes me wonder if they even clean these rooms or launder the bedding
Super friendly service at check in! Hotel is reasonably priced and our room was clean! Breakfast was busy but there was plenty of food and many options. The decor is a bit out of date and the hotel could use some updating but was perfect for a one night stop. Would stay again if passing through.
We've been staying here for for the past 5 years while attending a yearly family reunion in Coropolis. There has been absolutely nothing done to this property in that time (or so it seems). Worn, stained carpeting, tired looks, no A/C in fitness center. HORRIBLY SAGGY BED! Breakfast was unremarkable, even by Fairfield Inn standards. Fitness equipment was in desperate need of repair. The only bright spot was that the staff seemed willing to help and smiled when we engaged them. That's the sole reason I gave this a 2 star and not a 1 star review.
We will be looking for alternatives next year, even though that will likely mean staying out by the PIT airport. Longer drive, but perhaps a better nights sleep.
Strongly recommend that you ask for a room on the East end of the property, AWAY from the I-79 bridge. Otherwise it will sound like trucks on the highway are driving right through your room all night long.
Heard that the franchise was recently bought - will have to wait and see if they make any improvements.
Overall, the service was friendly. But this hotel physically is an embarrassment to the Marriott name. Mattresses are so old and worn they sag and have lumps. Hair on the ceiling of the bathroom. Air conditioning barely worked and room was as humid as it was outside. Again, staff was nice but avoid this property!
