Famous 4th Street Delicatessen, Philadelphia PA

1 of if not my favorite place to eat in Philly. The portions are ginormous! The challah french toast is usually my go to but I like to try other things. Its all been phenomenal and could never actually finish it so plenty of leftovers for the next day and still tastes just as amazing. The cookies are absolutely delish! And the cake portions are unimaginable. I'll never forget the guy who sat behind us who came in just for a slice of cake that he finished that was the size of the plate. He said he'd been coming and doing it for the last couple of weeks. And as a New Yorker, I enjoy the old photos of the place's origin in Brooklyn NY as well all the celebd that have come into this place.

Boy oh boy. Now these guys serve up what I call a well filled sandwich. Even the regular left me stuffed and I have a big appetite. A fabulous Philly institution.

A Jewish bakery deli take out orders plus dine in must wear mask variety of good a little expense but worth it. I got a hot corne beef sandwich it was thick with corne beef I ate half when I got home save the half the following day. Nice service no long waiting.

Great food and stacked high sandwiches. The corned beef special was great. Unless you are a world class eating machine, be prepared to take half home with you.

Wonderful authentic diner! We had a roast beef sandwich and a grill cheese sandwich. Both were delicious! While we were leaving we stop to pick up dessert - black out cake! A slice is big enough to feed 4 or more and was delicious! The staff was friendly and welcoming. There is no parking lot.so you will have to find parking.but it is worth the effort.

I was staying in Philly for the weekend and decided to try this place for lunch. When I 1st looked at the menu the prices seemed pretty high but I was craving a corned beef sandwich so I ordered it anyway. Once it came it was HUGE! I got 2 meals out of it. And not just that.it was amazing! Corned beef was hot, it came with potato pancakes which were equally delicious. As a Jew from NY I've gone to my fair share of Kosher delis so I had pretty high expectations. This place measures up for sure and since it was jam packed when I was there I got the impression it's a Philly staple!

Pricey, but SO good! The pastrami sandwich was the size of my head and so delicious! The rye bread was? *chef's kiss* I absolutely needed a nap after eating that.worth it!

Got a nice chocolate chip cookie with the check which was a fun surprise!

The food is really good, the portions are immensely huge two people can eat with one order. The service is really good.

Really didn't like the baked kreplach, did like the apricot hamentachen and the black and white Cookie was ok. Generally, the desserts wete huge

Portions are very large. Staff is super friendly and everything on the menu is good and reasonably priced for what you get. Before you leave pick up a slice of the cannoli cake to go.

The. Pastrami. It is so delicious! I look forward to it every time.
The chicken livers are okay. (If you've ever had Jack's from the Northeast you'll be disappointed by 4th St.) The nova, the kipper, the bagels - always delicious!
The employees are relatively polite (some more than others).
Prices are a little steep.
It's always busy when we're there.

Always amazing. I never leave Philly without stopping by Famous 4th street Deli. The Service great and food is consistently good. Been coming to 4th Street for over 20 years.

All I can say is very very very good I trust no one but trust me on this go check it out fresh fresh that's all I can say about the food and the place is very clean

Take an empty stomach when you go! Everything is delicious and the portions are beyond belief. Well worth the price with excellent service!

Old fashioned Jewish deli. Clean, friendly staff. Alittle pricy. I ordered medium cabbage soup and corn beef special 1 can soda. 34 dollars.

I love food places that have a story and this one has one. Historical figures have visited, the sandwiches are the best we had the pastrami sandwich. Will come back to try more stuff everything seems delicious.

Everybody raves about the sandwiches but for me and my kids it’s all about the everything bagel. I love a chewy bagel and I don’t know how they get their bagels so chewy but man when they are fresh there is nothing better

Turned away by a snarling rude jackass 47 minutes before closing. Take out only! You can’t make a pastrami sandwich and plate it in an nearly empty restaurant? Is that what you are famous for?

What a beautiful cool place to visit! So much history in this building. Their cakes are over the top delicious and very reasonably priced! One slice can feed 4 people. Highly recommend this place!
