Such a lovely experience! It was a perfect balance of comfort and enjoying the outdoors. Will definitely be back to visit over and over! That’s how much we loved it!

Stayed for two nights end of September, 2023. Campground is nicely appointed but a couple things held it back from 5 stars. They are brand new and still sorting things out, so keep that in consideration. Will try to go back in 2024 to see if things have improved a bit. Proximity to Promised Land campground is great.

1.) The wood bundles on site (used for the fire pits + hot tubs) are pretty expensive and you will go through it quickly. Def bring your own if you can.
2.) The hot tubs are fun, but extremely small and take a VERY LONG time to heat up.
3.) We paid for the most expensive dome tent, but the only showers on property are at the complete opposite side of the camp.
4.) The wifi is pretty terrible, which was disappointing since they specifically said to use that because there is little cell reception in the area. If you want music at your campsite, make sure to download it before you go.

Great place for a getaway from the daily hustle and bustle! The camp is modern and has all the amenities needed for glamping. We went there with a baby and an elderly person and all enjoyed being in the dome. Unfortunately the weather was both cold and rainy on both the days so we could not enjoy as much as we had hoped for. However the staff was invisible yet very responsive and helpful! The only other suggestion was that the showers were with no roof which would be great but having at least one with a roof would help if it rains.

Ferncrest was an awesome place to spend time near the Poconos! We stayed in one of the dome tents and it was very nicely set up for us when we arrived. All of the facilities onsite were clean and new:) I wish the campsite was a little further away from the road, since you could see and hear cars at the tents, but otherwise the location was great for getting to nearby trails and forests.

Beds were comfortable, restrooms fully functional and clean, general store had lots of helpful items, there is drinking water onsite, cute little playground area, and so many pretty tall trees.

Note for anyone staying the the colder months: we stayed in October. There was a wood burning fireplace inside the tent for heat, but it didn't really heat up our tent a ton so it was pretty chilly at night. We were fine with the comforters and the extra blankets we brought though.

My husband and I came to Camp Ferncrest last week to celebrate our anniversary. The dome tent was beautiful and the bed was comfortable. It was very easy to get ahold of the owners via text. We were able to get ahold of someone very quickly when we faced an issue with one of their lanterns and the issue was resolved very quickly. It was an overall cozy stay.

We do wish that there were more activities to do during the week, it’s our understanding that the campground has a few things that go on during weekends. It would have been nice to have been able to hang out at the campground a little more but there wasn't much to do. We also wished that the showers were inside or at the very least covered for the cold windy days. We thought that there was a restroom near the dome tents as shown on the camp map but there wasn’t. They are still in the process of building the campground so the map shown on the website is not accurate. It was a long walk all the way to the front of the campground in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.

We would stay again but definitely during the summer months after the campground is complete.

PS- Don’t bring your own wood or fire starters! You are required to buy wood and fire starters from their shop. Unfortunately we wasted money bringing our own wood that we didn’t end up using.

Had such an amazing stay in the dome tent! First time glamping and it was so luxurious and beautiful. Hiking around Promised Land with the fall foliage was gorgeous. Can’t wait to come back next season!

Camping here was such a lovely experience! Easy check in/check out, different options based on whether you’re more into traditional camping vs.glamping (the dome tents were SO cool), and super convenient shop on the grounds for practical (and also fun!) things. On top of that, it’s in an area with tons of gorgeous hiking spots. I’m so glad we came during the fall so we could soak up the bonfire and look at all the beautiful trees changing color. Overall, we had a great time and I would love to come back!

What a lovely time we had! We found the campground to be clean, safe, and just perfect for a couple nights. We stayed in the dome tent which was exactly as the photos. The bed was super comfortable and warm as we camped in mid October. (Need the name of that mattress!) Bathrooms were clean, showers are outside so be ready for that, and fireplace was easy to operate. Teapot, Chemex and filter were provided and was amazing in the morning. One suggestion - have a small broom/dust pan in the room since we tracked in some leaves and wanted to clean them up.
In the area is a ton of great hiking and when you're hungry definitely check out Hammered Steel Tavern! Local place and AMAZING food - one of the bartenders at Hopping Eagle Brewing recommended it.
Thank you for an amazing experience Ferncrest!

After seeing a TikTok about this campsite, I was sold. I had to go even though I’m not the camping type. I went right to the website to book. Quickly someone was direct messaging me with details, which I found very helpful! We ended up booking a dome. Once our reserved date arrived we arrived late, which wasn’t an issue and check in was a breeze. The layout of the site is nice and you can tell the owners take great pride in the campsite ownership. All the little extra amenities were a nice little touch. The little store was great for anything we needed and it was reasonably priced. The showers and bathrooms were clean and well stocked with hand soaps, body wash, shampoo & conditioner. I honestly loved looking up at the trees while in the shower. It was such an amazing experience for someone that never thought they would go camping. We lucked out with the weather on your first night, the skies were so clear and the stars looked amazingly beautiful. I felt I’ve never seen so many stars in the sky. Our 2nd day we had light rain showers during the day, which was perfect for a girl who loves sleeping to the sound of rain. Our dome came with a little hot tub but we didn’t use it, because we have one at home. I found the dome very relaxing and will be returning. This was perfect getaway during the peak of fall foliage.

I recently stayed at Ferncrest & enjoyed my visit so much, I'm looking forward to my next visit. I stayed in one on the crest tents which was a great mixture of the typical camping experience, with the comfort of a cozy bed and indoor fireplace during the chilly fall nights. I enjoyed the coffee cart in the mornings and a scenic drive over to Ritter's Cider Mill for apple cider donuts. The grounds were clean & loved the outdoor shower! Would recommend to friends and family.

My husband and I spent this past weekend at Ferncrest Campground near Promised Land State Park. We love traditional camping but we knew we needed heat in order to camp in October in the Pocono Mountains. We decided on staying in one of the crest tents. Upon arrival, we checked in easily via text message and had two big wagons available to haul our belongings to our tent. As soon as we arrived at our crest tent, we felt right at home. Everything was so unique and cozy. We got information about how to work the fireplace inside the tent and got it working quickly. We also spent both nights at the bonfire with the "camp hosts" in the common area with Steve & Susan. They were amazing with sharing the story of Ferncrest the owners dream and fun stories about the surrounding area. Susan made an amazing Burrista in making hot cocoa and coffee for my husband and I. We truly enjoyed our fall weekend in the Poconos with lovely people and beautiful natural surroundings. Highly recommend for all that hold nature in their hearts!

This is their first year and they got a lot of things right. The dome tents are nice. The bed and bedding are top notch. The location is great if you are hiking or boating. We went at the end of October. There is not much close to do but it is a great launch location if you are going to New York or the Statue of Liberty for a day.
A couple improvements would be a port-o-let or single stale bathroom near the dome tents. If you have to “go” in the middle of the night there is nothing close.
You can only use their wood for the fireplace and hot tub and the wood was either not seasoned well or wet from the recent rain. We would be willing to pay more for better wood like oak or something with higher temperature output.

We both felt it was a little pricey. We were trying to spend time away from our older kids but when we got there the whole camp ground was full of families with kids. That would have been fine except the sites themself are not that private. The atmosphere wasn't very friendly either, we are use to camping in campgrounds in our own tents with no running water or electric with staff on site and people are all usually friendly hanging at night fires going. This was not the place for that! Maybe it was the people that were there that weekend I don't know. I also wasn't very fond of the technology needed to be used to communicate with the people who own fern crest. No one on site it was alittle two techy for us. Not a real warm and cozy vibe.
Now as for the dome itself it was beautiful! Amazing!
I also feel that they should let you know ahead of time the size fire wood needed for hot tub and indoor fire place. We had brought all of our own wood except none of it would work in any of the above, of course we knew we were glamping so we didn't bring a saw to cut. We were forced to buy more wood from their store. Overall we did have a nice time it just wasn't what we were looking for.

Kids had a ball playing on the playground, collecting bugs and getting hot chocolate from the Commons. Adults wished it didn’t rain but we made the best of it and sun came out Sunday for hike in promised land state park! This was our second stay this season and we look forward to next year:)

This was amazing. The dome tent was such a different experience and was very clean. The campsite is nice, but be prepared to walk in the dark to the bathroom, and it's not close. We forgot a flashlight, and it's definitely needed our back area firepit, and sauna was in a bit of rough shape, but in their defense, it's outside, and it seemed they tried to fix it best they could other than that loved it super secluded in the woods and just very relaxing would definitely return

Just spent the weekend at Ferncrest campground. I went with my sisters for some quality time and it did not disappoint. The dome tent was really nice and comfy. Thank goodness for the little wood stove because it rained and it got cold out. We used the wood fired hot tub and watched the sunrise from it. I liked how the campsites were pretty private and quiet. The cars stayed in the parking lot so it felt more woodsy. Everyone was really nice. Coffee was great.at the wagon and from the tent. A lot of thought went into this. There is a cute playground for kids. Promise land state park is literally a mile away. We really didn’t have any negatives. We took my puppy and there was a fee for that. The camp store was stocked with cute merch and necessities. If you take your own wood cut it short for the hot tub and indoor stove.
We will go back. They are doing good things! Best of luck Ferncrest! And thanks for the memories!

It is a beautiful place. I brought my 4 year old son for his 4th birthday adventure and it was perfect. He loves to be outside digging in the dirt and Ferncrest let him do just that. We stayed in a dome tent and the beds were more comfortable than mine at home. The facilities were clean and the people were so friendly. There’s a lot of growth to come, I’m sure, and I’m excited to see what pops up next in the years ahead thank you for making our birthday trip so special.
