The ribs and corn bread was pretty good. The brisket was super fatty, the collard greens tasted like straight vinegar, the Mac and cheese was very bland and when i walked over to pay, the person at the register slapped my receipts and pen on the counter and walked away. I spent $70 and was sorry the moment I tried my food.

We got their brisket sandwich and the brisket was delicious, tender, juicy, tasty. The sides were underwhelming, the potato salad was very oily, not really sure why, and the slaw was, well, more of a shredded red cabbage salad with lemon juice and olive oil, very flat.

The sausage was also not good, underseasoned for the most part. If your sausage is less tasty than one I can find at a grocery store, then you are doing something wrong.

I would surely go again for the brisket. The sides and the sausage are a no-no.

The best brisket and barbecue spot I know in the Philly area! We ordered The Fat Cow which came with brisket, short ribs, and small orders of all the sides. And we added a half rack of St. Louis Ribs to try too. The meats were delicious! The sides were great accompaniments. My personal favorites were the baked beans and the Mac and Cheese. The facility was clean and spacious, and the workers were all helpful. They have an efficient and comfortable system for ordering and eating. We’ll definitely be going back again with more people next time!

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was chill. The different cuts of meat illustrated on the back wall was both creative and informative, a very interesting choice. We went there with a group of five and while I was exceptionally hungry that day there was definitely enough food between each entree and the sides to share if you wanted to split one set of dishes between two people.

Plenty of bang for your buck. You'll have a good time. If there's one thing you won't be by the time you leave, it's hungry.

Is this Franklin’s from Austin? No, but I haven’t found better brisket in Philly. And reasonably priced at that. Great bbq.

The food is great, the atmosphere is down home, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I’ve been a couple of times and can’t wait to go back.

I don't even know what to say. This place used to be top notch, the best around. It's been a couple years since I was there. The ribs were a slab of fat. The manager gave us a second rack that were so salty they were inedible also. The macaroni & cheese was so dry it tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The one plus is the manager did refund us our money. My girlfriend got very sick about 4 hours afterwards. I would not have left this review had she have not gotten sick. I was willing to let it go because the manager refunded our money.

I wanted to love this place.ugh. First I will say I loved the brisket and collard greens. My family didn’t care much for the ribs, they stated they were too fatty. I loved the ambience and the layout was really cool. The reason Im only giving three stars is all of our food was cold. This really took always from the meal! I know majority of the food is pretty much prepared prior to ordering. But when you sit to have dinner you expect your food to be hot! Our server didn’t bother to ask how the food was and my family and I didn’t want to go to the front to complain. So, we just ate what we could and took a few take out trays to warm up later. My suggest would be to have the manager periodically check to make sure the guests food come out right.

Good food, but very strange dinning experience for a BBQ joint. They need to take a lesson from Hard 8 in Dallas.

Here they make you sit at a table to just get up again and order your food with your table number. Then they bring you the food, I guess when they are done putting it on the plate? Then you have to order your drinks at the bar yourself and get your own silverware. It's just strange.

Should I start with the items that made me want to rate as a 2 or lower? Or should I wait to share those negative aspects until the end? Ok, good first. THE BEST BAKED BEANS EVER.

We arrived at 9: 20 pm but we were welcomed as if the restaurant just opened. First time at this Steven Starr venue, decorated as if the dining experience was outside, but the whole decor feels fake. Sturdy, well crafted wooden tables but cheap uncomfortable chairs; premium non-bleached paper plates but BPA-laden plastic glasses for water and soda.

Yes, the ribs are just to die for; both the short and spare. The potato salad was unique - no Mayo. Yeah! But. Ready for the worse? It was tasting the sweet and spicy sauces. They were nauseating… no exaggeration. They are absolutely disgusting and ruined about half my meat serving. Who in earth charges $80 for a few slices of meat and then places cheap, chemical tasting sauces on the table? This restaurant is not worth it unless they start providing A-1, Worcestershire, and Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue.

The other little annoyances are just 1st world problems: salt shaker doesn’t work; the paper “boats” for the beans are very weak for passing around the table without bending and spilling; paper towels horrid, worse than newsprint paper! Where is the Bounty half-sheets? I couldn’t find wet little towels until we were about to leave. I bet they brought them out when they saw me fighting the paper towels. Oh, those cheap towels did nothing to get rid of the meat grease in my fingers and hands. (Poor iPhone’s screen!).

We will not be returning for the meat, but we may stop but to purchase again the beans and corn bread.

Seriously, you guys.the beef short rib. You guys? Seriously!
Also, the collard greens are stoopid! Tangy, just the right amount of spice, and perfectly tender (mist places overcook them). I had mine delivered and it was ridiculous, but I'm looking forward to dining in to try more stuff and thank the kitchen staff. Amazing 'cue, give them a try!

The staff was great and the building itself was quite trendy however, the food was average at best. We ordered bbq chicken (the skin was tough), our macaroni and cheese was not the best and the greens were bland.

Good atmosphere, good drink selection, but a little pricey with what’s shown plus a drink being around $60. The cookie is worth $1 not $2. I like the counter service format. Beans and ribs were the highlights with good flavor. I’ve had a lot of BBQ all over the country and this brisket was the fattiest I’ve ever had, even for the point part which I prefer over the flat. Either it started off as a bad cut or wasn’t fully rendered in the cook, but either way it shouldn’t have been served.
