Just so you know, there’s a recording of this horrible person laughing because UHC denied his care. This is just how f’ed up the insurance game is

There is not need for this company to be involved in students' waivers. They waste time and money, and create headaches where they need not be. Shame on any university that utilizes their services to hassle their students! I have dealt with 5 colleges that did the waivers independently- with ZERO issues. Same insurance- tons of problems with this company. I don't even understand the need for their involvement. Awful customer service and they lack basic knowledge of medical insurance.

They are forced onto students by universities and do a horrible job with reviewing insurance info. Unresponsive to the point that it is disrespectful

Worst place ever. They never answer calls. Comes back to email super late. Disappointing that school is connected with this.

Terrible customer service. I am a student, and they denied my waiver for my current insurance to enroll me in their program. Will not contact me back. I have attempted to email multiple times because their customer service phone line and account manager are of no help and only state that it can be taken care of via email. They are no help and even said that if enrolled and the deadline passes and my insurance information is not fixed, I cannot cancel or get a refund even though I already have insurance.

The insurance company has contracted with the university and by force, they are selling the insurance to the university's student and once a student applies for the student loan they will deduct from the student loan. No matter if you have insurance or not. The account manager's name is Jennifer Bailey and she is so unprofessional un-educated. They do not even cancel the insurance and this will affect people with premium insurance not being able to use their own insurance. Stay away from this insurance company.all I can say is this company and it's service is TRASH.if I could I gave this company negative 100 stars.

How do you have customer service, but no one is available to take a call. The worse company to try to get answers from.

I’ve been trying to contact them for over 2 weeks and they haven’t responded to neither my emails, filled out applications from their website or voice messages. I’m an exchange student trying to extend my eligibility of stay in order to pursue a work experience related to my field, and in order to do that I need an extension on my current medical coverage I have with them.

I’ve never seen an organization with such incompetence or lack of professionalism.

A mcdonalds with no employees has better customer service than this "company" right here.

First Risk Advisors is by far the most incompetent company I have dealt with insurance or otherwise. They do not notify you of any changes to your account and would let you go uninsured if you aren't vigilant about your coverage. I am so very disappointed with the coverage and customer service I have received it is unbelievable. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. As anyone can see from the reviews they are completely awful and none of the representatives care to help at all.

Trash service. A company you genuinely cannot respect. I'm surprised Penn State would affiliate with First Risk Advisors.

Marywood University auto enrolled me in their student health insurance through FIRST RISK ADVISORS STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE when I didn’t provide proof of my health insurance coverage. I was finishing a 6 month probationary period with my employer in order to be eligible for coverage and I was 2 months shy of it being completed. I explained this to the university and I was told I had no choice but to be automatically enrolled but could easily cancel the policy when I picked up insurance through my employer. I have called and emailed FIRST RISK ADVISORS STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE several times about canceling the policy and they refuse to do so. Instead, they charged my tuition nearly 2 thousand dollars for an entire year of insurance while for 8 of those 12 months I do not need / want their coverage. I’ve tried to deal with this situation from every angle possible. The university says it’s out of their hands, FIRST RISK ADVISORS have already received their money by charging my tuition and therefore keep telling me they won’t cancel the policy, so now what? The university and insurance company are both pointing fingers at one another meanwhile this ridiculous fee was added to my tuition unnecessarily. I have already reported this company to both the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint with the PA insurance department. FIRST RISK ADVISORS have shown nothing but complete disregard for the fact that I’m a full time working student and unfortunately fell into a bizarre loophole. All they care about is the fact that they successfully stole almost $2,000 from a college student. WAY TO GO!

I would give this company negative stars if I was able to. Any positive reviews for this company are fake (including the recent review from “William Opperman” who is directly related to the CEO “David Opperman”). Never seen customer service as awful as this joke of a company here. Customer service reps are unknowledgeable, rude, and very very slow in the process of providing help. I was sent in a circle attempting to find out who I needed to speak to to find out the only way was through encrypted email that they would completely ignore or take a long time to reply. Contacted the CEO of this company to have an issue resolved, however, he showed no interest in customer satisfaction or any human decency. This company makes their money off of students forgetting to fill out insurance waivers from what I can tell and refuses to cancel insurance policies even though they are legally obligated to do so. Will be joining others in filing a lawsuit and formal complaint to the insurance commission into the practices of this company (contact me if interested). Stay very far away from this company if you’re looking for good service.

ACTIVE MILITARY MEMBERS AND VETERANS BEWARE! ! ! This organization is much delayed in their communications to students, and then they will charge you for health insurance that you will never need as a military member. They just charged me almost $1000.00 for a summer session, even though I indicated that I was a veteran and have military healthcare for life. I will definitely submit a formal complaint to the appropriate government agencies on the Hill.
