I bought a pastry with sweet potato and pecans. It was delicious, the inside was airy. I really enjoyed it. Never had anything like it. Will go back

Hands down, best croissants since living in Paris. Worth the trip, and a fantastic find on a Saturday morning after a late Friday night.

Love this place and this morning my partner surprised me with my favorites so I thought I’d share the joy: plain bagel— I usually go for a flavor but here the original plain is the best in my opinion, always fresh and a good chew to it, good crisp bake on outside, good with cream cheese, better with butter! And my fav of all time: the vanilla cream beignet, the pastry cream inside is sooo good, real vanilla bean flecks, crispy fry outside fluffy dough, so good!

I have never had a bad item from here. Items from Four Worlds and Au Fournil are our favorites- especially the beignets, croissants and pretzels (which are sourdough so a bit different in the best of ways)

Always tasty, fresh, high quality. We thoroughly enjoy everything we get. An extra shot out for the pretzel hsmburger buns.

I ordered bread here once and haven't been happy with store bought bread since. It's a blessing and a curse!
The sourdough and whole wheat are our regular orders, but literally everything here is good. The pastries are DELICIOUS. They're never too sweet! You can actually taste the ingredients.
Definitely recommend signing up for their email list. They offer great discounts and sometimes free delivery! Great walk in specials too.

This bakery saved me when my kid told me at 8am that she signed me up for a bake sale going on the same day! Thank you!

I am so shocked at the experience I just had when I walked into the bakery. I went to support the carrot cake man and buy a bunch of carrot cakes.

When I walked in I was on the phone. I didn’t pay attention to the signs outside. I was instructed to put on a mask which I did without hesitation and with apologies. The woman that was work was extremely rude to me. She was very nasty as she indicated that there were obvious signs stating that masks should be worn. I responded again by saying what is the point of that I have no problem putting on the mask. When I went to order she started talking to someone that just walked into the store ignoring me.

This was the worse experience I have had at any store since moving into the neighborhood. I am so very disappointed at the manner in which I was treated. So much so that I am writing this review.

Four Worlds Bakery is a *FANTASTIC* bakery with some of the best pastries and breads in the city. Go there and try everything, they need and deserve our support!

LONG STORY:

I have been going to Four Worlds Bakery for years and have always been amazed at the incredible variety and magical deliciousness of their croissants and pastries in particular. In this picture alone you have the following croissants: chocolate almond (one of the best things I've ever eaten), raisin, apricot brie, lemon curd, spinach ricotta, and goat cheese, and I barely scratched the surface of what they offer. Also pictured are a whole wheat sourdough bread and a Carrot Cake Man carrot cake. Consider this your reminder to go there, and for the many people new to the neighborhood who haven't yet tried it. It's honestly one of the best bakeries in the city; on the quality alone it deserves our patronage and support.

But beyond that, the owner is such a kind, generous, wonderful contributor to good in our community. Just a few highlights:

- FWB donates tons to organizations that do great work like Food Not Bombs
- During the pandemic FWB began offering other bakeries' items for sale, to support their survival during the hardest times for everyone
- FWB donated part of its profits to support Lee's Deli's recovery
- offered a place for Carrot Cake Man to sell his best-in-the-MF-world carrot cakes (!) when Lee's closed
- donated big boxes of baked goods to hospital staff working the front lines during the pandemic

Please, please flood them with business! Get your job to order a big box of happiness for staff! You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Never have I had something from here I didn’t absolutely love. Don’t skip the city-best soft pretzel, the apple turnovers, olive bread or sesame bagels. Time your trip here with Clark Park’s year-round Saturday farmers market if you don’t live in the general area.

Great community bakery. Great deals after 12: 30. All the breads are amazing. Masks are required to enter. You can also order online and text to have items brought out to you.

Used to go here a lot for bagels, but got sick of them being rude about requiring masks. I go to Bart's for bagels now. Will happily return when they quit it with the performative public health.

Edit: I appreciate the response. Guess I'll text next time because delivery does cost. Have to say, none of this follows the best available epidemiological evidence. Maybe offer n-95 masks to employees and drop the cloth mask requirement for customers?

Disappointing! My almond croissant was burnt!

All the pastries in the case looked overcooked but wasn’t expecting them to serve ones that looked like that. The filling was good, and probably would have been tasty if I wasn’t constantly distracted by the char taste.

Had high expectations based on ratings, but quite disappointing! You should not serve pastries that are burnt, they should be trashed or donated somewhere, but you should not take people’s money for them!

Great bread and they also offer the vanilla bean beignets which are heavenly. We go there sometimes just for that

This neighborhood bread spot is the best! They also have carrotcake from the west philly's carrotcake man!
