Frecon Farms reviews
17Review of the farm store. Our new favorites are the key lime pie, almond croissants, bacon quiche, and the best focaccia I’ve literally ever had. The espresso drinks are great too and at a good price. Their baked goods have improved since the last time I was there, much more consistent quality. This place is generally pricey but delicious.
Great farmstead with a good selection of prepared food, baked goods, and other items like jams and honey. They also have a nice coffee counter with teas as well as some local ciders and beer. Fantastic breakfast sandwiches. Friendly staff. Not too pricey.
Feels a tad trendy for a farm store but I can't deny that everything looked and smelled delicious and it appeared very clean. There's a lot of choices for sure.
This place is the best - the cider and produce are delicious, the coffee is great, and the employees are extremely nice.very glad I stopped in!
Though I love their store and my family has been supporting their business my whole life since I’ve grown up here, I was highly appalled by the one worker they had in there today! They may want to address their employees behavior and how they greet and speak to people. As bystander/ customer I watched as a young teenager girl and her family walked in, and the young girl had what looked to be a small service/ support dog in her hands. Everyone else greeted them all nicely until a worker emerged from the deli and put this girl and family on blast about getting out because dogs weren’t allowed, yet never asked if the dog had papers or checked the dogs harness and the woman with the young girl fired back saying it was legal he was infact the girls emotional support dog. How this lady worker berated both of them with FDA guidelines which happen to be incorrect and then never even asked to see the proof giving the family a chance to show that the dog was an emotional support animal was appalling and enough to make me never want to support them. She could have kindly asked and “Quietly” asked the family to see proof instead she targeted them and was loud enough to make them walk out and I witnessed the teenage girl in tears and so embarrassed as they walked out!
Frecon Farms via the Bryn Mawr Farmers Market. The market is open every Saturday and Frecon is there almost always. They offer a great selection for fresh fruits including their main feature. Apples. Their apple cider is fantastic! The hard cider sold in 4 packs is a must try.
Don't over look their baked goods.
Pies, cookies, Apple Dumplings and the Quiche. The pictured Asparagus & Feta Quiche was the perfect easy dinner with a bowl of soup.
Yummy place! The smells will hit you when you walk in. Fantastic baked goods. Excellent Espresso bar! Very friendly staff.
I stop by once every couple months. Prices are definitely a bit high, but I guess that's a little expected. Everything I've gotten from here is good and I enjoy it. Love their apple cider donuts in the fall and their soups. Customer service is pretty bad though. One day l asked a question about their breakfast sandwiches, got a snarky response from the one older lady working in the bakery area, didn't even answer my question. Another time I asked a middle-aged girl at check-out if they ever do other pie flavors throughout the year such as blueberry as I'm not a fan of cherry or the way they make their apple pies, to which I got a rude response of, "if you don't like our pie flavors, go bake your own. " After that comment, I stopped stopping by for awhile. Last week, a cafe I'd typically stop at for coffee was way too busy, so decided I'd try coffee from here instead. 2 people who were already served were sitting down, the barista noticed me, but continued casually talking with them. I was waiting right in front of the coffee bar for over 5 minutes, until she finally aknowledged me & took my order. As soon as she handed me my coffee, didn't ask if I wanted anything else, then walked back to the couple and started talking with them again. I then went to pay for my coffee at the register by the coffee counter. As I was checking out, asking to have a pastry added on, the girl checking me out noticed a regular customer come in. Yelled across to him, to which he came over and she was talking to him the entire time while finishing my transaction, rushing me. I feel like I've come across more rude workers than nice, friendly ones. Such a shame because their stuff is genuinely good and has potential. Looks like I won't stop by for quite some time, hope they can fix things back up into shape.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this market. I love how everything is local and fresh. Fresh veggies and product everyday. I also get milk from them and I must say its the best milk I have ever had. If I could shop here everyday I definitely would and sometimes I do. They have a small deli station with fresh made sandwiches and salad. Love their mac n cheese. Fresh baked cookies, bread and pies. Cookies are a must try. They also have a smoothies, coffee and hot coffee bar. Never tried that yet but I definitely will in the future. I will continue to give them my business.
Very cute and SO many more goodies than I expected. I've placed an order for Christmas Eve and cannot wait to try the quiche. I will definitely stop in whenever I can. Just plan on it being crowded on the weekends!
Took my girlfriend and our daughter there for the first time, my girlfriend loved it. We got two of the special holiday lattes, they were delicious. We will definitely be coming back here again in the near future!
Had a great time doing pick-your-own apples. They had a nice variety to choose from and orchards were very well kept. Concessions in the field included hard cider, donuts, pizza. Hay bale maze for little kids. The store has a nice selection of produce, excellent baked goods, pumpkins and potted plants.
Beautiful fruit and other gourmet goodies plus a cute eating area inside and great bakery. How could you not love this place? !
We went here recently for apple picking, and it was fantastic! We got here around opening time, and pretty much had the whole place to ourselves early. You can choose from a small, medium, or large bag for your apples, and the trees were COVERED with apples, you are able to get whichever ones you want without having to worry they’re gone/picked off by others. This was a very well planned and organized farm (they had a map at the entrance that showed you where each apple variety was). The farm had a super cute and adorable pumpkin patch, and lots of cute photo opportunities (I loved the wagon photo op with the pumpkins). Their store had some great things as well (we bought some apple cider donuts, apple cider, and the hard cider). The staff were super nice and informative about the products. Such a great experience! I will definitely be back soon to visit and get some more donuts and hard cider
I had the absolutely best chicken salad croissant sandwich. Nice big sammie chunks chicken.celery.cranberries and lettuce
We loved it here! We loved the smaller farm feel, the fact that it wasn't crowded, and the available seating and activities for the family.
My first time visiting the store. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a nice lunch, the soup was delicious. I'll definitely be back to check out the farm.
