French Creek State Gamelands Shooting Range reviews
22Safe places to fire a rifle outdoors are getting harder and harder to find. People are friendly. Don't forget to buy your state range pass.
I like to go early in the AM. Everyone that I have met so far has been very helpful, informative and friendly.
Due to all the bad weather the stone drive had a lot of gullies in it. On Monday I saw a Bobcat on the back of the trailer and today (Wednesday) the gullies were gone. The guys are doing a great job keeping it nice.
Went to the range a few days ago. Totally enjoyed it. I'll be a frequent visitor. It is worth the 1 hour drive to get there.
Be prepared to be harassed by the park ranger. He is there each day asking everyone for range permits, running your serial numbers of every gun you brought and checking howany rounds you have loaded. He WILL FINE YOU if you break even the slightest rule. It's not worth coming here. Not toention it's jam packed with people and you'll be waiting in line just to shoot. Targets are destroyed and shot to he'll. One of the worst experiences I've had with my firearms.
Nice new upgrades with a canopy over the shooting tables. Now you can shoot in less ideal weather. They added a 25yd lane for pistols in conjunction with the 50yd and 100yd lanes.
Was just there over the weekend there was a sign posted saying June 6 to June 26 the range will be closed just drove an hour To get there to find the contractor started A-day early on June 5th. Why post a sign and Set a date when it is not even followed correctly. Thank you to the contractor you For making me waste my time and money.
Went shooting today and was very surprised to see what a fantastic job they did at the range. A new pistol frame for close range. The awning is fantastic. 5 Stars hats off. Hand full of people today. Very friendly. Great day at the range. Thank you who ever did the work.
As of June 5th Wednesday the range is closed for the rest of june I'm writing this so you don't drive from Bucks county to shoot like I did there was a sign posted 20 yards behind the gate say range closed june 6th so I called the southeast fishing & game commission they told me the workers started a day early.theres no notification on the web site.
I should have listened to all the negative reviews they were spot on. This place is terrible. I went once everyone was having a safe time everyone was friendly and then the park ranger showed up and talked down and yelled at everyone shooting, collected id's and handed out $300 dollar citations with no explanation or warnings and couldn't have been ruder to everyone save your $30 for the permit and go somewhere else.
No pistol range as otherwise described, park office maps depleted, no appointed range officer on arrival. The range is in fact not even an entity of the park.
Best public shooting range in Southeast PA. 100 yard rifle and 25 yard pistol. Be sure to read all rules carefully as some are obscure.
Been here twice once there was no one there but the second time it was packed and it was mostly people blasting away at the burm. I really didn't want to call for a hold and walk down there because I didn't trust most of them to know what was going on.
Great place for a peaceful walk or a family activity! Free convenient spots to park your vehicle. Great fun for your family!
Nice range but it can get busy at times on weekends where lines form. No one really bothers you and people are respectful of each other I feel. Only annoyance is a lady that has showed up each time in there to pick up brass. A lot of people reload so they want to inspect and reload them.
Clean, well maintained. Shot at 8: 00a Friday before rifle opener and half of the lanes were occupied. I left at 8: 20 and lanes were 3/4 full. Other shooters were respectful with good firearm safety.
Never had a problem, everyone waits till is clear before shooting then ask if is clear after. Shooting before replacing the targets
This range should be closed, all the degenerates from Reading come to this range. Every couple months someone gets shot there. No one follows the rules and rangers only ever patrol it a couple times a week.
To many people not following range rules with no way to enforce the then. It's a dangerous place.
My last time there was a group of people shooting bottles on the ground. Yep.
Outdoor range w 50 and 100yrd target placements. Can get crowded and some of the target sections were damaged on the 100yrd side last time we were there. Wish there was a shorter section for pistols.
Nice range you just need proper communication with the other people on the range-black guy here' ️and I never had an issue
