Dr. Salkind saved my life! Before being lucky enough to meet Dr. Salkind I went to three ERs begging for help; I was shoved out of the door by every single doctor. I was in daunting severe pain! Eventually, in complete tears desperation and agony I showed up at Holy Redeemer. Finally, I was given an MRI and a proper assessment. Moments after the MRI I met Dr. Salkind. The results of my MRI brought the lifesaving neurosurgeon genius right into my hospital room. When he looked at me he actually saw me and my pain. He cared and that immediately gave me hope. It was the biggest sigh of relief I had ever felt when he told me he was going to help me. Dr. Salkind advocated for me every step of the way. He explained the ACDF surgery to me and did everything he could to help me through the pain. When I first met him the nerve pain traveling down my arm was so severe that I wanted my arm amputated and I was honestly dead serious. Dr. Salkind assured me that I could keep my arm! He explained that he could fix my cervical spine to make the nerve pain stop. Dr. Salkind did exactly as he promised. I will never forget it and I wake up everyday truly thankful. Whenever I start to fear feeling pain like that again I now can remind myself that there are surgeons out there like Dr. Salkind, he truly saved my life.
