Genesis Medical Associates: Northern Area Family Medicine, Pittsburgh PA

Not to say that I "enjoy" my visits to my doctor, Dr. Kurt Heil, but as usual I felt very much at ease with both he and his staff. Maybe its because I've been seeing them for many years but it is an experience that is not fraught with the anxiety one might expect when seeing a physician.
The staff is highly professional and at the same time friendly and welcoming, never giving you the feeling that they're doing you a favor by seeing to your needs.
I'm also impressed with the on-line functions available such as appointment scheduling, prescription renewal, etc. Its made so many things much easier than one could imagine.
Like anyone, I wish I didn't need to see a physician on a regular basis, but as long as I do, I will continue to place my health in the hands of the very capable people of Genesis Medical Associates.

Dr. Sarah is the most professional doctor in that organization she is much better than all the doctors put together very knowledgeable very responsible very thorough I would recommend her to anyone thank you Jim Graner

This practice has fallen victim to the brainwashing. They gas lighted me and made me feel like I am a prisoner living in a communist country. Despite my diagnosis that prevents me from wearing a face covering, I was bullied by 4 of the staff including the doctor who surrounded me in the hallway. The office manager demanded that I provided her with private health information and despite me telling her that is none of her business she told me she had a right to ask. I was a nurse for 30’years and have never been treated with such disrespect and lack of compassion. I was actually told by the doctor that if I don’t follow their policies and recommendations, that I was in breach of their “partnership” goals. And that I essentially I am not allowed to make my own health care choices. I will never recommend this practice to anyone…

Sara is thorough, listens, and is very easy to talk to. She is caring and I look forward to seeing her for my annual appointment.

Every 3 months I need to make an appointment for a med check. I have been a patient here since I was 16, I'm 42! I have always had positive experiences with the different doctors, in the past. They have all pretty much retired now Dr. Potter has been my favorite all throughout my appointments. He makes you feel comfortable, valued, understood, and genuinely cares. He truly became a doctor to help people and actually has a heart and compassion for people, which in this day in age is very hard to find! I've always felt like we had a father daughter relationship, as well as professional. Unfortunately he will be retiring. Which I'm so saddened and excited for him too. He has worked so hard, he deserves to enjoy the next chapter of his life.that being said, the newer doctors are very robotic like.its like when they speak, it's not from their soul, it's more text book. They explain things to where you're like, what? They seem to always request you get some sort of test done, and when you go.the ppl there conduct the test and are literally confused as to why you were sent to them.sooo $1000 out of pocket expense for something so ridiculous! I do not feel comforted when explaining abt my anxiety & depression. I feel they are just looking straight through me. I hate to leave this office just bc I've been going here for so long, I don't want to switch, main reason being a hassle. So I'll just deal w it for now.would I recommend this company to new patients? NO! Back in the day, definitely My opinion.doctors here, are here to get that paycheck and live an awesome lifestyle! I feel like im burdening them, wasting their previous time. Not being heard or even believing. Their very uptight abt perscribing my meds.even though they can clearly read on the screen I've been taking them, like forever. They want to change it up, like how do they come up w that diagnosis after a 7 minute conversation, like we never met before, but you have it all figured out? !? ! I would love to find a doctor who loves his job, where he loves to help ppl who need it, and their is in the right place.as a matter of fact.if anyone knows of that kind doctor lmk

Everyone ushered me right through the appointment and were friendly and helpful! The doctor was awesome and addressed all of my concerns. There was coordination among the staff and the doctor which led to quick concise care! Loved the experience and the staff of this practice! Would highly recommend anyone looking for a new health care facility!

I am not sure how my appointment with Dr. Robert Potter, Jr.could have gone better. Perhaps started closer to the appointment time… but I am fine waiting a few minutes for the doctor when I know the doctor will not rush my appointment time with him. Dr Potter carefully reviewed the vitals his nurse took as well as all my questions. I needed a flu shot, check. I needed a prescription renewal, check. I needed a blood test, check. Doc Potter drew the blood himself. I am sad that Dr. Potter will be retiring from the practice in mid-December. Glad to hear he will continue his charity and hospice work. Thank You Dr. Potter!

My last doctors appointment was very satisfying. Sarah was very professional, explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, took time with me and didn't make me feel rushed. Keep up the good work Sarah, you're very appreciated!
