Gettysburg Battlefield RV Resort & Campground Pennsylvania reviews
21We just got here, staying in our RV. We are a ROD member and this is definitely one of the nicest! Right next to the battlefield. Sites are pretty tight, but park is well kept. Pool was Great on a hot muggy day! Separate shower/toilet rooms which was super great and so clean. Nice greeters in the office with lots of information. Thanks! We just got here, so I may add some remarks soon.
Free trip (sales pitch required) but no pressure. Very pretty campground with some nice amenities. Lots of families and retirees. Very pet friendly.
I wouldn't buy a membership the front desk staff and the maintenance staff were great but they have real jerks working in the back house and laundry room
Excellent location to the battlefields. Clean, well groomed grounds. Nice pool and very nice relaxing, reading area in the main complex, guest house.
Very clean and organized family camping area for all aspects from all camping style venues to TENT BY A stocked pond. Activities for family involvement. We were quests but wouldn't mind being members!
We love going to this campground and normally have a great time. It was an ok this time. Activities, i.e. Crafts seemed lame, so I did not check them out. Kids crafts were for real young, nothing for preteen to teenager except teen takeover night. Must be a licensed driver to drive a golf cart, but if your kids have an electric bike it is a free for all and they don't watch where they are going, so if you are on a golf cart or in your vehicle watch out as they don't do the 6 1/2 mph and will cut you off. Management knew about it and did nothing.
There are plenty of activities for the children and entertainment on te weekends. The pool is especially nice since the upgrade
We visited friends at this campground and were very impressed with what we saw. The pool is huge and has 3 sections. The playground is huge and has shuffleboard and gaga ball. A newly installed community fire pit is gorgeous and has tons of seating. There is a Pavillion with tables and chairs. There is a community center that is very welcoming. We saw a food truck and a snack bar although neither were open because it was late evening. The roads are freshly gravel-ed. Sites seem big and well-spaced. We would happily camp here.
My wife and 2 year old have been here three times this summer and already have two more booked for August and Sept.
We can't really say much negative (we also understand that not all things are perfect all the times)
Overall 4 stars.
This is a high tourist area. People come from all over. So when they are there, they are out during the day going on tours sightseeing and so forth. If you are staying here you think you can do laundry after you get back but they close the laundry room (they only have one) at 4pm. So to tell yourself I'll get up in the morning and do it. Sign says 9am -4pm, so when you get there at 10min till 9 and you see 15 people waiting for 6 machines because they all ran into the same problem. Oh in the mean time they want you to upgrade your membership while you're there. I don't think so! Most Thousands Trails RV Parks we go to have multiple laundry facilities, and if they close its usually not till 9pm which is more reasonable.
Camping rv had no space to park truck. Rent a golf cart they said they are taking it back still had to pay. Make the rules how they see fit stay way from place looks nice runs place like an iron fist. Should have stayed at Thousand trails nicer place and cheaper.
Every time we come we enjoy it. People are friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Activities for kids.
Where to begin? The roads here make no sense. All twisted and sharp turns are abundant. Not very easy to maneuver. Larger campers in certain places. Campsites way too close together. Next to no sites with sewer. The bathrooms are cleaned at the worst possible times like at 9 o’clock when you’re trying to get ready. Camp store keeps bankers hours. They have a decent camp store, but it’s open about six hours out of the day! It needs more bathhouses. Needs more attention to the lake as there are hardly any fish bigger than 4 inches. Their check in process is hectic. Look for other options to spend your timeshare money on.
One of the best locations closest to the battlefield it's is on one of the locations for confederate reserve
Rv Sites are very small and difficult to get into. Location is great. "Members only"
We’ve stayed here before, but it’s gone downhill. It’s very hard to book a space. Plus, while we were here, a kid on bike without a helmet hit our car and left a huge gouge in the driver’s side door.
On Sunday morning, our water pressure was off at the site, so we went to use the bath houses to shower, and one whole bath house was closed so only 4 showers/bathrooms were open To the whole camp ground. Even in them, the water pressure was terrible.
We pay a lot of money to own and stay here and not pleased with our purchase.
We enjoyed it here very much, The Workers were awesome, the campsites were very clean and bug free, I dont think we used bug spray time, and there is alot to do in and around the campground. We are looking forward to coming back soon!
I'd say this is an average campground. New owners seem to be cleaning it up a bit though. We typically get the worst spots since we have a lower teir membership, making you feel like you need to upgrade your membership. GBR has the fewest sewer spots of any campgrounds we have ever been to.
I LOVE GBR SO much I worked there for 2 years. I have my reservations for this summer too. I miss being there, but I still love all the campers I worked with.
I had a very great experience at this RV resort I was there with my daughters we went fishing we had meals they have Everything that you could need when you are in an RV park there is sewage hook UPS electricity depending on if you have an inverter and you're ugly they have off are the bathrooms rooms there is a pawn that you can go fishing there's pavilions plenty of places for your children to play it's in the middle of nowhere but I would much rather something like that be in the middle of nowhere because it gets you away from society and isn't that why we go camping All in all I had a very good experience even lady at the beginning who led me in she was very helpful with answering my questions
