Gettysburg Family Restaurant reviews
13Why are you now closed for Breakfast? Best breakfast around! You were always packed and had regular customers come in the morning. Please open again for breakfast! This is the only reason I’m giving a 1 star review. The food etc is great.
Simple home cooked meals just like Grandma would make. Large servings, and very reasonably priced. Burgers and steak fries were perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the fish dinners as well. The side salad was ample. Friendly service as well.
Very nice family atmosphere. Friendly staff and delicious food. Also a great variety on the menu.
First off, the service was excellent. Friendly attentive and with a smile. Everything was reasonably priced. I had the cream of chicken and rice soup and it was perfect (hot, delicious and filling). The turkey club sandwich was good. Tasted fresh. The coffee was about as bad as I have ever had (extremely bitter) The fries were bland and the ketchup is definitely some super cheap generic brand so it didn't do anything to make the fries taste any better.
This is a classic small town restaurant.
Highlights:
- All-American classic diner food.
- Friendly & efficient service.
- Simple & affordable.
Ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with Chips. It was exactly that.no frills just fresh food wit no frills.
Usually busy but the food is cheap and tastes wonderful. Staff is very friendly, the place is clean. I definitely recommend it.
We came around lunchtime and there was only one table available-a great indicator for how good a restaurant is. My husband and I both got lunch specials, they were great and our server was very friendly and attentive. Overall great experience!
Fantastic smiling waitresses/servers are clean, and their food is always hot and great. Prices are also great!
Very much a home style place. Lots of locals. Service was great. Food was tasty and quick.
Asked for a table and waited 20 minutes, while seating others in open booths, to be expected, and when finally taken to be seated was given a booth instead. No explanation and ignored when tried to ask hostess. Server was amazing and food was pretty good.
Gave them another chance after dining there a month ago and only getting one of the two meals we ordered. This go around was actually worse, but at least we all got our meals, and it only took an hour to get them. Seriously? If it weren't for their regular customers and the unwary tourists this place works be shuttered. There was a time this joint was worth going to. Sadly those days have passed.
Excellent place to eat. Fast service, very tasty food and super cheap price. Definitely 100% Recommended
Home style cooking just like grandma used to make! We arrived at the restaurant around 5: 30, and with so many cars in the parking lot were worried we wouldn’t find a seat. Upon entering we were greeted by a younger girl working the register who promptly seated us with a smile. Within seconds we had menus, drink orders, and put in an app (Now that’s service!). The mozzarella sticks were delicious. You don’t get the grease filled sticks like you do at other locations. The sticks had a tremendous cheese pull, and we’re also fresh. My girlfriends chicken sandwich arrived along with my hot roast beef sandwich, we couldn’t wait to dig in. The gravy wasn’t to thick nor was it to thin either, just right. I finished my sandwich before our waitress even had a chance to check on us, that’s how enjoyable it was. The chicken sandwich had a nice crunch with the perfect amount of mayo. We decided to get a piece of chocolate cake to take home. Coated with chocolate icing that would make you slap yo mama, this is one of the best desserts I’ve had in the Gettysburg area. For all of this food our total came to a little over $30. You can’t find prices like that today! Needless to say we will both be back and plan on making this our new go-to dinner spot!
