Goodwill Store & Donation Center reviews
22The most overpriced goodwill i've ever seen. I thought my local one was expensive but this blows my hometown out of the water.
Selection is great but the prices are a bit steep and they're not running any sales or anything.
Seems like a decent store, the furniture they had was cheap. Prices seem reasonable. Didn’t really see anything else good there though.
Why is the organization at Goodwill so bad? There’s no way to find anything in your size unless you shop according to the colors of the rainbow. I guess I am a size green?
We came on a day that was supposed to have 50% off everything and their computers went down first thing in the morning so they could only take cash. Of course we didn’t realize that until we had filled our cart expecting to use our debit card.
Not coming back.
Clean, organized and well priced clothing. Discounts available - check what color tag is half price.
Many dollar tree items worth a dollar are for sale for $2 or more. That’s a 100% mark up! I don’t care if you’re a charity. Price gouging at a place where people with low income tend to shop is so predatory and wrong.
They need to understand this is a Thrift store.the prices are crazy. Actual dollar store items and prices are marked up. Several other items have tags on it and they put a Goodwill tag on asking more than the store did
Few good deals but not worth the trip at all.
It’s a good store for certain stuff but I went in there for a Halloween costume and they were too expensive some of them cost more than party city chargers especially for kids no thanku I’ll stick with Walmart
I went to this Goodwill in Norristown for the first time. I was in search of a pair of jeans for work. As soon as I entered the store, it smelled good. This Goodwill is very clean and organized! I was amazed to see for the first time at a Goodwill store, all the clothes were organized by sizes. I was able to find jeans in my size quickly because all the clothes were organized and separated by sizes. The staff were very nice and helpful. The fitting rooms were clean and no clothes were in the fitting rooms. Keep up the good work Goodwill staff! Keeping the store clean, organized, nice customer service and smelling good, will keep the customers coming. Also, the prices of the clothes are not expensive. I will be coming again to shop at this Goodwill store in Norristown!
This whole moving stuff around is insane. Prices went up.tried to move my cart around another shopper.ended up hitting my sons arm on an end cap slicing his arm. Too crammed inside! I donated sone dishes ans the guy taking the items was too busy staring at a female walking by and talking on his phone. He threw the dishes in a pile and i heard a loud crash. Never again!
I did a review 4 months ago and complained about how dirty this Goodwill store was. I am happy to say that the employees are keeping it a lot cleaner. Prices at this location are still higher then other Goodwills but the book dept is awesome.
I really enjiy shopping at Goodwill Store and the workers are very friendly. The prices are great too
I wish they sorted their items by category, and not by color. It seems like all the merchandise is all over the place and it's hard to find what i am looking for.
HORRIBLE! Prices are too high, nothing in stock, stuff is mispriced or not a clue how much it is. Stuff is not assorted by size u have to fig through everything. This went from being a very clean friendly store to being a NIGHTMARE! ITS DIRTY AS WELL! The lady that wrang me up this morning was very rude and unfriendly. She had scoffed at me when I askef her if there was somewhere I could plug in the hair dryer I found to make sure it worked she huffed and puffed like I was asking her to do it. Glad I checked cause the prongd on the end of it were already broken
Horrible retail establishment! Poor employee attitudes! Filthy establishment!
This is the cleanest, most well organized Goodwill I have ever visited. The staff were all pleasant and they had a great selection of books.
This place sucks. No electronics ever. I mean ever. The workers keep it for themselves. The same old printers are there every time. Bring back Savers.
Worst experience I’ve ever had in any retail store I’ve been too. It’s pretty sad when your kids ask what the register lady’s problem is. Maybe if you hate your job that much find a new one. Went in there looking for a couch and was able to find one but was unable to purchase this item due to this employees actions. Would never recommend this place to anyone!
Very nice store. Very helpful and dedicated employees.
I have ONE criticism on their BOOK DISPLAY. There is very little or no effort made to group books in proper categories. Their bookshelves can be VERY frustrating to go through.
- The previous store (SAVERS) had done a terrific job on their books compared to Goodwill.
Books are a compact and decent source of revenue for Goodwill.
If they improve this they will double their book sales IMO. - I wish they would work on this slowly. It takes little effort once it is initially set up.
JC.
Hit or miss so far. Nice book selection but seems to lack merchandise at times.
I still stand by the fact sorting by color is absolutely stupid in a thrift store but it seems to be the new standard for all Goodwill locations.
I received an email about this location opening recently. I came with a few bags of clothes to donate and I was happy to use their drive up donation lane. There was an associate outside waiting to help and keep everything organized. The store hasn’t changed much from what I can remember from the thrift store it used to be. There’s more floor space dedicated to clothing than any other department. I’m not a fan of the color coordinated sections. I’ll admit, it’s aesthetically pleasing but when it comes to actually trying to locate something, it’s counterproductive. It makes more sense to have sections like housewares, kitchen, and decor. If you’re hunting for antiques, I didn’t see anything that immediately caught my eye but I recommend looking through the prints and paintings. The book selection was great and I found a full set of a series I’ve been hunting down. Electronics, furniture and sporting goods sections were lacking and priced steeply considering some things were missing parts and in poor condition. I understand that a portion of every dollar spent goes back into the community but the items being sold should still be priced fairly. Towards the front of the store, there were new items like leggings, hats, gloves and travel pillows. While you may not find exactly what you’re looking for, I still recommend coming in to see what’s available since donations are constantly coming in.
