Had a great weekend here, the camp site has recently undergone a lot of really nice enhancements. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever had at a campsite, power and running water at each campsite. Really beautiful local nature attractions/hiking. Owners are super nice people. Will definitely return soon.

We went camping here and had a great time. The camp sites are large and private and the bathrooms were very clean. Highly recommended

Nice Campground.

$40 per person per night is a little high. So if you have 10 people it's $400 a night to sleep in your own tent.

Firewood is reasonable at $8 per stack.

Sites do include running water from hose and electrical outlet which is very convenient as well as bathrooms with toilets and showers.

Other campers were friendly and cleaned up after themselves.

Would stay again if it was just me or one other person, otherwise with a larger group I'd probably try to rent a house.

As I read some of the reviews prior to our first visit to Grassmere, I felt many of them were just mean, when we arrived to the campgound, I saw some of the things in the comments, and still felt some of the comments were indeed just mean. This campground is nearly 100 years old, it clearly has seen good times and bad times, weathered many storms, and seen its share of children. It has some antiques frozen in time and a few buildings patiently awaiting sunlight and laughter, but this place is sweet! Tree lined gravel roads provide plenty opportunities for long walks around the large wooded camping sites. There's a large babbling brook on one side of the grounds and a small stocked pond on the other side. There is a play ground, and in the back of the campground, a large, beautiful green "back yard" is open in the sun for all sorts of play! Does Grassmere have room for updates and improvements, well yes, are there things that make you wonder, yes to that too, but I have not been to a campground that had no need for work. Grassmere is an eclectic mixture of 100 years of 1 family's dreams and hard work. If you like quiet rustic surroundings, roughing it a bit, being somewhat off the grid, being entertained is not a must, and you dislike the constant noise of golf carts driving around in circles, you could fall in love with Grassmere as we did! The 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation of this family will welcome you and make you feel at home.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family for their loss. As per our experience camping.this facility has great potential. The property has a "clean up" must atmosphere. Electric and water hook up systems are an electricians night mare. Not sure if there is any state coding regulations? If so, far from it. Dumping station had its own night mare, slow moving or full sums that up.

The heck with Vivid 19, fresh air beauty at its best,
Sitting by the creek & watching the many animals is my happy place. Can't wait to return in April.

Fred and christine helped me figure out if it was a good time to stay pending the weather, and they were truly concerned for my safety. They showed me where I could set up, at a very nice spot, and were very great people to deal with.

Men's shower' s were clogged up and would not drain.and very dirty, as bad as the flying jay's truck stops. So bad I put my shower flip flops in trash. Womens bathroom and showers dirty. No antibacterial hand soap to wash hands, no paper towels. People being loud at 2: 00 am. Tent spots in ditch line. Wood to green to burn.

We had a large group of six families, 3 of which had never been tent camping before and it was a great experience. There was fishing, a creek, a playground, A kick ball field, arcade and hay rides that kept the kids busy and large sites and a clean bathhouse that kept the adults happy. The owners were super friendly too! We’ll definitely be coming here again.

Folks running the place are nice enough, but the joint could use some TLC. Lots of derelict structures and machinery on the property. Our site was huge and private, but hookups were a bit strange. Not their fault, but we also didn't have cell coverage (TMobile). Some might consider that a plus, but we unfortunately did not. There is a stream running along the campground that probably has fish. We enjoyed riding our bikes around the camp ground and we spent the day hiking Ricketts Glenn which is just up the road.

I feel like every review about this place doesn’t capture the true state of the campsite. There are pros and cons that I feel would be very helpful to read, but I plan on writing a lot so I apologize for the length.
Also in their defense, we arrived a day early so my experience could be different than normal and I really appreciate how they were able to accommodate us.
I hate to start with a con, but upon first arriving there was no one there to greet us, and I had to get attention from who I assumed was a family member of the owners, to get us checked in and taken to our campsite. We called ahead of time to make sure we can check in early, and they said yes so it was odd no one was in the office. Our campsite was a good amount of space for 6 people, (2 tents) and we had two electric outlets and a water hose which was great! I also had some service at my site to send essential text messages. The fire pit was dirty though and had a few beer cans and old logs in it. The bathhouse was actually clean when compared to some franchised campsites, and I actually felt clean after a camp shower (could you believe it!). The firewood offered is 10$ for a wheel barrel full, and I’m not sure if it was because the logs were wet or had sap in it, but the logs didn’t light and we couldn’t get a fire going until we bought logs from the local gas station, bear fuel (which I actually recommend, as of 2020 they sell their bundles for 5$ each and we had a great fire). We had a great time, it’s very quiet though, we felt strange being the only site with a fire going at 9: 30, but we were. The main reason we called (yes called, they do not offer any sort of online reservation) was because it was close to Ricketts Glen, a beautiful state park with a huge collection of waterfalls. The campsite itself doesn’t have much except a really bad game room (pretty bad, the pool table had no balls in it after paying for it), outdated abandoned buildings and vehicles, a man made pond for fishing, and a creek to swim in. I think they tried to host a cornhole event but no one showed: (I wish there was a way to make it more welcoming, this campsite has so much potential! My family and I never go camping for any sort of luxury, the point is to enjoy outdoors without anything fancy, however the abandoned trucks next to my site kills the mood. Nevertheless, we had a great time doing stuff around the area and on the site, and when there’s no availability at other sites near Ricketts Glen, staying at Grassmere Park Campground is worth seeing 60+ feet waterfalls and walking through amazing trails!
