Greater Johnstown Water Auth

I bought my home in December of 2021, and a friend moved in and stayed until February. Until October of LAST YEAR, my home was completely vacant. GJWA STILL charged me for water usage, even though NO ONE was there to use the water! I finally came back in November to find my water OFF for Non- payment, and had to pay a ridiculous amount to have it put back on! I have energy efficient water appliances, and should NOT have a bill over $1000.00! I then found out that they bill you in advance, badlsed on an estimate from the PREVIOUS month! I've NEVER heard of such a thing. And all because they DON'T do monthly meter readings? ! How about upgrading to a system that reads the meters and sends the readings in remotely? ! NJ American Water does it, and when I lived there, I NEVER had ANY issues, OR outrageous bills!

Keep on charging you extra. I was sent a bill of 104 then had to pay 177 for some corrected reading.

They now charge you extra to make a payment in advance. The only way to not have this extra fee is to have the money directly taken from your account. The dates they choose to take the money from your account are random however, and if you don't have the money in there, they charge you $50 extra for bounced check and non compliance fees (plus you get overdraft fees from your bank). SAThe entire balance that you didn't have before plus the $50 added on then needs paid in cash or money order in person THAT DAY, or they will shut off your water and charge you shut off, and turn on fees as well. Scam artists!

Frustrating. My actual water bill is 18 dollars and a few cents. But the water slash sewage bill sewage rental my whole bill is 128 dollars and a few cents. Ridiculous. Shame on them.

We moved out at the end of last month. Called to let them know. They said they would send us the final bill in the mail to our new address for us to pay. We never received it. Come yesterday, our ex-landlords get a shutoff notice and mounds of late fees for "returned payments". We never made the payment because WE NEVER RECEIVED THE BILL! So we tried to pay it online and over the phone, but we were told we couldn't. We tried to get a hold of a representative, but they wouldn't pick up, despite it being well before they close. Y'all are trash ️.

Charge you more then you use and then say it must be a leak no leaks and and meter doesn't move much and still over charge you.

It's obvious there is a major problem within this cities public water utility system. For every person that is a homeowner or tenant, how come there is a limited and small number of employees available at your disposal within this water utility system. They are driving me crazy, it's almost too much. Their supervisor is professional and competent to say the least and it's seems everything falls on her shoulder unfortunately while the whole is doing what? Zero.

This is outrageous. 1600 dollars an no one even living there. An truthfully if this place needs to be investigated for robbery of the people in this town. No water running in the house an when you want the meter that they used replaced. Answer more money.

I would give zero if I could. Seriously rediculous. Worst customer service anywhere. 14 cars in line, clear out to Franklin Street! Absolutely terrible!

It was just for a summer job and you were full time making 8.25 an hour. I was the maintenance assistance. All I did was cut grass, sucking sludge out of the water, water sampling, and whatever else needed done.
