Green Gables reviews
18 The Allen family are new owners
They are great people and are doing a superb job improving the restaurant and grounds.
My favorite restaurant
Great food
Great service
Great staff
The absolute best in the area
We always stop at Green Gables for a drink and food when ever we're in town. Love it here
I am leaving my original review up but am editing my review to express my current disappointment. They advertised a Fall Festival for weeks on Facebook. I went to attend today only to see a 10 dollar entry fee posted. This is just a small festival with vendors. You pay for your own food and drink I imagine the vendors are paying them for space. Green Gables owns the land and facilities so what is the fee for? No charity was listed. Just like any of the vendors they can sell their food and drink there. I posted this question on their Facebook page where they posted a $10.fee just about an hour before the event. They took my posting down so I posted here. I actually thought they were doing something for the community and good relations. My mistake. It is in extremely poor taste to advertise an event and not mention an entry fee. The Harford Fair charges $12.for a day at the fair and that includes rides. This is a very small venue to let vendors expose themselves. So again I ask. What is the fee for? It is very unprofessional to advertise an event and not mention an entry fee until an hour before the event where no one will see it. Very disappointed. Dropping my rating 2 stars. None of the details mentioned in your response were ever mentioned on Facebook. I did not get a flyer. I relied on your Facebook page to be the most current information.

I don't eat here enough. Good food, great atmosphere and friendly people. I just have one wish that they might consider staying open after 10pm on Friday and Saturday night and have bar food available and perhaps local musicians to entertain. I keep wishing someone would see the need for some form of entertainment in New Milford on weekend nights. There is no entertainment in New Milford, PA.
Very friendly family owned and operated business. Food is amazing. Great Pavillion for weddings, reunions or family gatherings
Ordered a Pizza from them via my cell phone. Was heading to New Milford from Detroit Michigan. They cooked it for me just before closing.and made the best flat crust "Square Pizza" I've had for awhile. I was invited in and back to the kitchen where I thanked them for helping my hunger out. Just over a year for the new owner and they are going all out to please the Northeast PA area.and a traveler like myself!
I spoke with Jennifer who catered my mother’s Celebration of Life. Jennifer couldn’t have been any kinder or professional! The food and desserts were excellent and everyone enjoyed it very much! I would definitely recommend and use again! My family and I thank you all very much!
I have been going to Green Gables for over 40 years. Nothing has changed. The food is still wonderful, staff is great, and the atmosphere is quiet.
Great decor and food, staff was very friendly! Great venue for volleyball leagues and tournaments
So happy I decided to stop here on my way through. The food was excellent and the servers were awesome!
This is a great place to get a yummy homemade meal not to mention even the salad bar had homemade potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw. (Family run with authentic recipes)
Dedicated staff to go the extra mile extra to make homemade potato salad and it was amazing.
We loved our veal parmigiana with rigatoni, shrimp and scampi over pasta, and also had cheesy garlic bread with sauce.
There was a cozy bar too, but I stuck with ginger ale.
I skipped the Harford fair down the road and glad I did.
Thanks for the tasty and affordable meal.
A really nice place. We visit every year on our annual trip north. Good food, salt of the earth people and real old fashioned atmosphere.
The place is beautiful, clean and great service. But the food I ordered buffalo chicken tenders not so good. But that's just me.
The food was good, it was a quick find when driving home. Will remember for next time I'm in PA.
It was busy (Wednesday night) and pretty loud. The food took quite awhile to come out. We ordered a Buffalo chicken hoagie and side salad. The food was very good! Server was nice and helpful. We will be back!
The Veal Parmigiana over Fettuccine Alfredo is AMAZING, and I absolutely love how fresh the salad bar is. Green Gables has always been a gem in our community. Recently under new ownership, I feel like they have actually improved on an already Iconic hotspot!
Good food, good people. A very nice, local sit down and eat, or order a drink libation! A very nice small-town, Italian restaurant
In the past the service was great from start to finish. Now under new management… the wait staff had no idea if there was a waiting list to be seated, who was waiting to be seated or how long the wait might be.
As far as the food goes I will assume that it is still as good as it was during our last visit.
So if you want to have a relaxing evening out to dinner avoid Green Gables for a while until they get things worked out.
