Green Ribbon Trail reviews
13 NOT a biking trail. Don't even bother.
Very unmaintained and weathered. Good for rustic walking and hiking. If you bring your bike you will spend more time hopping off and on your bike than actual riding due to all of the unmaintained boardwalks and ramps, large roots and logs in the way, mud patches, etc.
I walked this trail beginning at Skippack Pike all the way to the Germantown Academy. I would like to go a little further the next time. I am not quite sure where the trail ends but the Academy is very impressive and the children here are blessed to get to go to school here.
Very pretty rustic, packed dirt trail that meanders along Wissahickon creek through meadows and woodlands. Starts at Parkside Place Park in North Wales and continues 12 miles, point to point to Wissahickon Park. I walked from Parkside Place to Swedesford Rd and back for about a 6 mile round trip. The trail continues across Swedesford Rd (trail markers visible) to Wissahickon Park.
Since the trail follows Wissahickon Creek and is a dirt trail, rain, snow, ice will impact trail conditions. There are some elevated wooden walkways that may help flooded paths. Overall, this is a beautiful trail and worth exploring.
Nice trail through the woods. Most of it is just a dirt path through the woods. There are a lot of sections of the path with grass and shrubs growing into the path. It doesn't seem like they cut it that often if ever. There's also a sign on the path that says it's under construction.
Had a great time! This trail is close to home and is nice to walk alongside the creek. Gets muddy and the trail is current under construction. Can’t wait to check it out in the spring once all the plants grow back.
Swampy all along from militia hill rd to valley green inn. Mostly paved; choose a bright sunny fall day for a pleasant walk.
Trails are in pretty rough shape. Lots of flooded out areas and the wooden bridges have had their foundations undermined. Trail markers are intact and there is plenty of potential here, the trail just needs some dedicated maintenance.
Gwynedd has so many nice trails! During the lockdowns, I called Lower Gwynedd Township, and they were so helpful in pointing me towards their many many beautiful and FREE walking trails for enjoyment and exercise! Gwynedd is a wonderful community to live in - great police, trails, and parks and many many services.super safe! Lived here since 1992.:)
Great trail, just be aware that the 202 crossing is currently closed, so at present, it is not possible to hike the entirety of the trail from end-to-end
Very clear trail markings and great directional signage. The trails integrate well with the towns they pass through, and most of the trailheads are accessible from SEPTA rail.
This is a great and lengthy trail because it gives you a variety of nature and surfaces.
The North third of the trail is more hike oriented, the middle third of the trail is a combination of hiking and paved, and the bottom portion is mostly wide and paved.
If you're looking to take in nature, this provides a great opportunity for 21 mi from North Wales down to Philadelphia
Many places interconnect w this trail. Flourtown commons borders the trail along w Philadelphia Crocket Club (parking across from/ next to them for park access). Trail goes back to Stenton Ave where it dead ends, then the other way goes to Mill road day use area all found in Fort Washington Park.
This is mostly a flat trail lined with poison ivy plants on both sides of the walking path. Please stay on the walking path. There are a few muddy puddles on the trail and it is advisable to wear boots.
