Well I found a new groomer for my dog. Bex did an amazing job! My dog was matted on a couple legs after she stopped letting me brush her out there and I figured she’d need to be shaved down, but they were able to work out the tangles and give her an amazing haircut! She looks amazing and I’m so appreciative ️ I would recommend this place every time!

Had a bad experience here. Dog has scabs under one foreleg and between toes. Just infuriating …. A long review so if you only read this far know that this place is to be avoided—why take a chance on a terrible experience like I had? My small dog was quite matted (Maltese hair! Got out of hand). I understood that he’d be shaved in the body. I gave specific instructions as to style, compulsively repeated myself to be perfectly clear. These instructions had nothing to do with necessary mat removal. Groomer spent adequate time discussing but in the end blatantly ignored my requests and didn’t call me partway through the process as she said she would if something had to be done that I didn’t want. This was style and had nothing to do with his mats or health. I was upset about the situation and spoke to manager the next day and got nowhere. She spoke to the groomer without first hearing me out. Definitely not a class experience, especially when the manager started to call me “ma’am”.
She quite literally did much more on his face than we agreed, and since my dog is very anxious I can’t figure out why she kept going. I told her to stop and do less, but she kept going despite this Increasing his anxiety and ruining his face. I should have listened to my gut and left before leaving him. This review allowed me to get this off my chest! Manager was caustic and offered no real resolution or sincerity. Think hard before going, I went to Katie in point breeze location. Additionally my dog has horrible irritation in his feet from aggressive grooming between his toes, constantly biting and licking them. He had no issues in his feet prior to this. I deeply regret going to this groomer.

I brought my long haired blue merle chihuahua there who has a very unique coat and am always nervous for him to get cuts. He was trimmed exactly as requested and in addition the staff was so loving to him. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming experienced groomer.

Just started doggy daycare for our pup and so far it's been nothing but lovely! The price is completely reasonable, the staff are kind and the flexibility is by far what we love most.

It pains me to write this review, after having such a wonderful experience at their Fishtown location, but I recently boarded my dog for 8 days at the Point Breeze location and would never ever consider boarding my dog there again or using any of their services. Much like another reviewer, I felt my dog was not taken care of while in their care. I was given back a bag of her things - her bed completely soiled in pee and an almost full container of her kibble. When asked about each, I was told "we took her for her walks" and "she ate". The manager then apologized and said they should have washed the bed before returning it me. I asked several times during my trip for pictures and status and was never given any heads up that A.she was not eating or B.that she was peeing her bed. Also, I was not interested in them cleaning the bed, I'm interested in knowing why it appears my dog was under stress in their care and why I was not alerted. It was a complete headache to come off an international trip of all day travel to this letdown. A really disappointing experience.

I called several groomers in South Philadelphia to inquire about their comfort with anxious dogs. Groom & Board assured me that their groomers would be able to cut my dog's nails, despite his anxious behaviors and possibility of getting a little mouthy. They are now my go-to spot. I have my dog muzzle trained so I always bring him in his muzzle for everyone's safety, and they are always so good with him. They have been consistently successful in both cutting and grinding his nails quickly and safely. They take walk-ins for nail trims - just call ahead and make sure the groomer is in that day.

I recently took my dog here for a 1 night boarding stay. I packed him his bed and toys per G&B suggestion, along with food and treats. When I dropped him I let the girl know this was his first boarding experience, he’s very attached to me and I was a little nervous.

While I was gone I never received an update about how my dogs stay was going or how he was doing. It would have relieved my anxiety about leaving him a lot, if I would have gotten a picture or quick text update.

When I came to pick him up I asked how he did and was told “he was good. ” With no further details on his stay at all. I was given his bed back for me to fold and repack while my dog was retrieved.

While I’ve never boarded him before, he has stayed for days at a babysitter, been at the vet and groomer. Any time I’ve picked him up from places before he’s always excited to see me but never seeming like he just wanted to get out of where we were. He proceeded to “drag” me home. He’s usually a very relaxed walker and he was very focused and determined to get home as soon as possible.

When we got home he “chugged” TWO bowls of water. This is very unusual. Even on the hottest days and the longest walks, he’s never drank water like that before. Made me feel like he was not properly hydrated/cared for while I was gone.

A very disappointing experience that I was not expecting after doing my research of where to take my dog in my area.

It’s been about 4months my puppy has been here for daycare since I’ve started in-office. I love that it’s both inside and outside. The workers there are so friendly and definitely enjoy what they do! My puppy loves it there and they definitely let me know if anything goes on. Very responsive when scheduling and accommodating when it’s last minute reservation for daycare. So happy with their hours being early and just a short walk from the northern liberties area. I enjoy seeing their stories on Instagram with all the dogs too!

We've been getting our (very difficult) 2 year old doodle groomed at Groom & Board for over a year now. Courtney is so patient with her and always does a really great job. Highly recommend for grooming!

We have been taking our pup, Brooks, to Groom & Board since he was a few months old - it's almost been two years now! He goes to daycare a few times per week, and goes for periodic grooming and boarding there as well. The staff is friendly, caring and treats Brooks as their own - which is comforting for overbearing pup parents like us:) It's been great for him to have a chance to socialize and burn off energy during the week. Every so often we take him for a thorough bath and haircut which has always gone smoothly. We have also had a great experience with boarding for a night or two here and there. One of our favorite things is their active Instagram account where they post pictures and videos of the pups playing all day. We love being able to check in on him.

This was the first time my dog Yogi has been to Courtney and I have to say he came back perfect. She’s the best! Thank you Courtney ️

We love Courtney at Groom and Board! We followed her from another Philly pet-care chain when she left to open up her own business and are so happy we did! We have a cockapoo and a shih tzu mix and went through many different groomers until we landed on Courtney. Not only does she do a great job making them look and smell good, whether they're getting a short summer cut or long winter cut, but she also deals with their somewhat difficult behavior. We've had other groomers threaten to shave our cockapoo in the middle of winter because she was misbehaving during grooming. I'm sure she's still difficult with grooming, but Courtney takes it all in stride and manages to still like our pup! We're moving out of Philly and are so sad to be leaving Courtney. Who knows - we may end up making the trek back into Philly to keep working with Courtney!

Normally I would give this shop a 5 star, but reduced this visit to a three for very specific reasons. I had returned here for grooming because I liked this place the first time around and Dozer also really enjoyed Doggie Daycare the day I took him there. However, this time around, the specific Groomer did not come out to greet me and take my specific notes on the grooming session. I honestly did not know what they were thinking? ! This is a very personal service I pay enough money for, that the groomer should be able to spend a few minutes with me to go over the dog. They had send one of they're front desk staff to get the dog from me and she took a video of my comments on grooming the dog. Then when I got the dog back, to add insult to injury, the groomer again was not available to see me! I told them, that for all I know, Dozer could have been groomed by an entirely different groomer, this is only my third visit to this establishelment and I'm still building trust I told them. Still quiet bruised from a horrific Petsmart experience as Dozer is simply trying to grow his hair back in certain areas. Anyhow, the grooming this time seemed to look a bit rushed on my final analysis. Later on, the Groomer did text me personally apologizing that she did not come to meet me and go over the specific details and that she had gotten a bit overwhelmed that day. In all businesses, it is the responsibility of the scheduler to assure that a servicer is not overwhelmed and that they have enough time to give adequate attention to each Customer that is booked. I think by now, the shop has received my message loud and clear. And unless they don't want my future business, I'm sure things will be better next time. So for now, reduced to 3 stars until next time!

First appointment was canceled the day for no reason explained. Second appointment, which I made a month prior, was claimed to not be booked on their schedule. Even with the confirmation email of the accepted booking they wouldn’t take my dog in and offered no help. Absolutely horrible service. I’ve never written a review before until now. There are so many better groomers in the city - this place and their staff are not worth it. I’m honestly shocked they’re open with how they handle business.
