Ground Up, Philadelphia PA

This cafe is the best! The menu is all hits you literally can’t go wrong. It’s cozy, the staff is lovely, and the owner is so sweet. You should get the escarole and bean soup, the avocado toast, or the summer salad. But also the chicken salad has a cult following at my job around the corner. So so so good I could go on for days.

Does not have a sign saying no dogs, will take your order for dine in then tell you you can’t sit in the cafe. Make that clear before you take someone’s order and offer dine in.

Best coffee shop in the neighborhood! Amazing coffee and great food. The Ground Up team is so friendly and wonderful. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Our absolute favorite coffee shop in East Passyunk. The owner and staff are extremely kind and considerate. We love the food especially the Avacado toast and bagel sandwiches. Great place for take out or dining in! The staff is also great about supporting other local businesses and animal shelters in the community which is an added bonus.

Their customer service goes above and beyond! My doggo and I love stopping in for coffee to to go and a treat most mornings to start our day. They’re also been a wonderful place to spend the day working remotely when my wifi is out (and they’re not overly crowded)

They are so accommodating, friendly and efficient and make the best breakfast sandwich in the city

Love ground up coffee! We walk up passyunk all the time to come here for breakfast and coffee! They have amazing lattes and great classic breakfast sandwiches. We like to sit outside at their small tables in the front. Also love that the owner supports local animal shelters and will occasionally take donations for them. It’s so convenient to be able to drop off there!

Great addition to the neighborhood and spot to work remotely in a cozy setting. Food is always consistent, appropriate prices, friendly staff. Highly recommend!

One of the nicest places to go for a quick breakfast in Philadelphia. The service is great. The food is great. The coffee is great and the customers are great.

Ground Up is an amazing place for food, coffee, and conversation. The amazing quality of their chicken salad sandwich is matched by the amazing quality of their service. This is the best coffee shop in Philadelphia and is beloved by our neighborhood!

I love the coffee and the food here, but if you're going to order food here do it in person. They consistently get online orders wrong

I typically don’t give places a second chance when it comes to customer service, but against my better judgement, I’ve spent more than I should have here. Liz, has a subtle rude about her. Prices change but is not posted, you won’t know until you look at your receipt. Policies change on a whim. This is not how a small community business should run, word of mouth is everything. I will sure to tell all of the staff where I work NOT to patronize this business!

I love getting the tea and a BLT here they typically have a variety of fresh cooked breads and such too. My go to spot.

I'm glad I stumbled on this little coffee shop on Passyunk Ave. Friendly staff, cozy environment, and great food! The latte was so good I got another one to gooooo

We got three sandwiches and all three were fantastic. The best part was that the added avocado didn't shoot out of that sandwich the way it sometimes does when it's not prepared properly. It's also super reasonably priced (ESPECIALLY considering the quality!)

I very much like this place. It’s clean, beautiful, has good vibes and the service is very nice. I would highly recommend it.
