Grove Dental Group and Orthodontics, Wyomissing PA

I have been searching for a dentist who can promptly schedule appointments as needed, without any hesitation. Not only does Grove Dentistry accommodate my busy schedule, but they also provide exceptional treatment. Dr. Steve is an exceptional dentist, and I wholeheartedly recommend his services and the entire Grove team to everyone seeking dental care.

On January 3,2023, I went into the office for a teeth cleaning. I was given a list of procedures that was not covered by the insurance (from a treatment plan). The amount was $682.63, I reluctantly agreed to and paid the amount. Then month later I was sent an additional bill for $582.87. I called the office and ask to speak to the billing clerk, the clerk said that wasn't covered by insurance, the clerk told me "read the fine print". Fine print says your responsible for what not covered, I stated I was told it was covered. She re-stated read fine print (even if your mislead by the office), basically "BUYER BEWARE". I went in for a cleaning and came out owing $1265.50 and they didn't even perform the cleaning (the reason I went in for). They performed a procedure similar to cleaning (scaling and root planing, not to mention other procedures performed). Which I thought was the cleaning, after they completed, they told me I had to come back in for the cleaning. Then a month later they send me an additional bill for $582.87. This organization practices deceptive business procedures prying on senior citizens that are on a fixed income with no concern for the hardships their deceptive procedures put on customers by their "business case" for creating more revenue for the business.

As I stated above, I had spoke to Billing Specialist, she didn't even care if I reported it to the Better Business Bureau (of which I did).

Went in for a cleaning, and came out super disappointed! No cleaning was completed.

Never and I mean never have a been to a dentist that wouldn’t do my cleaning.

Great practice and excellent staff. Everyone works well together to insure you have a great experience. Jenna is the best hygienist (hope i got her title correct) they have. My last appointment i had a periodontal teeth cleaning and everything went as usual. So if your new to the area or just looking to switch dentist's this is the place for you!

Dr. Walters is a kind gentle doctor who walks you through every step of the process with your dental work. I highly recommend Dr. Walters!

Dr. Jeremy Olen is legit, professional, and just awesome! His amazing bed side manner is great. The team at Grove Dental.fabulous! Highly recommend Dr. Olen and his team. As a longtime patient of Grove, I am sad to say I have had my last visit. I started with them long ago one Penn Avenue and was initially excited to see their growth in their new location; however, this last visit has left a permanent bad taste in my mouth.

This is coming from someone that for the last 7+ years has traveled (literally) thousands of miles to come back to Grove as I was very faithful to them.

It is clear that Grove has transitioned into profit-motive over customer care. The biggest turn off I have in the medical fields is when it becomes painfully obvious that the patient is a source of more and more income. I strongly feel that I they want me to commit to thousands of dollars of unnecessary dental work.

For the love of all that is holy, do not go here.

Let me start off this review by saying that I am 29 years old and have had chronic dental problems since I was about 8. I have been to several different dentists, orthodontists, periodontists, and other specialists over my life, so I knew something wasn’t quite right here. I have to say, the dentists here do good work. They are pleasant and I have never had a problem with them, which makes my issues all the more upsetting because I would love to remain a patient here. Here’s the issue: they do not bill insurance correctly, and do not provide corrections when asked, so the patient gets stuck paying the full bill. It doesn’t matter what procedure I have done here; at the appointment they will charge me a reasonable copay amount. Then a few months later, without fail, I’ll get a bill for $400, $500, $600. Sometimes close to $1000! When you ask the office staff about it, they gaslight you and say “oh I know, aren’t insurance companies just evil! ” and “sorry but our estimates are only estimates! ” I understand that estimates aren’t binding. But in all my years of dental treatment, my estimates have usually only been off by $50-$100, maybe $150 max. And I currently have the best dental insurance I’ve ever had! It is simply egregious the amount they are off. The average person can’t just come up with $600 on the spot. This whole time I’ve been convincing myself that it must just be the procedures I was getting done or it must just be my insurance that sucks. But I’ve now talked to a few other people with different insurance providers who have had identical experiences to me at Grove. A friend in Philly highly recommended an honest dentist down there and I’d rather drive over an hour and back to get my teeth drilled than get scammed by these clowns one more time. I genuinely can’t afford it.

I have been a dental patient here for routine care more than 30 years. Although the dentists and hygienists have changed from time to time, the care and attention has always been top rate, including through the COVID challenges.

Don't go here, their billing department is terrible, they tell you you don't owe anything when you call and then A YEAR LATER they send it to collections without mailing you any bill whatsoever and every time you call they tell you a supervisor will call you back who never does. Can't trust their billing department to do right by you.

Helen is the best! Always a pleasure to see her. My family has been going here for a couple of years now.

I got every year, twice a year to get my teeth cleaned by Helen. She is always smiling and happy and I feel so much better after I’m there. Would highly recommend!

Helen is a truly empathetic and wonderful person. She goes out of her way to make everything as easy and comfortable for patients as possible, listens gladly to patient concerns and answers their questions, and presents a relaxing and upbeat vibe that can soothe even rather anxious people like myself. Her obvious care for patient well-being and comfort is very appreciated!

I cannot say enough great things about Grove Dental. The office is always super clean and everyone is so friendly and personable. From the office staff, to the hygienists, to the doctors- everyone is a joy to interact with.
