They will pretend you live in the wrong place every year and then fight you before they give you YOUR money back.

I used to live in a state where government entities (municipal, county, state) all handled their own taxes. Then I got to PA and ran into the horrors of Berkheimer. Not only do they never get anything right; they have the worst software and on top of that, won’t take responsibility for their mistakes. Privatization is the worst thing that can happen to people just trying to live their lives and not get scammed by some politician’s relative’s business doing the public dirty.
