Halfway Tree Jamaican Restaurant reviews
19He even was able to make the food quick because I had to be at school and he was very nice.
I ordered some oxtails from here and it seemed like they just started cooking them. They were so tough it was a waste of money they should have said they were not done instead of selling them.
Spicy curry shrimp, catfish, cabbage, seafood Mac salad all on point. Friendly service & banging food!
Food is great but PRICEY. Two beef Pattie’s with two coco bread came out to $17? I could’ve had a whole meal. Than it takes forever for your meal, the lady is real nice but that’s crazy smh
The food here is terrible. Well the jerk chicken was good, that’s it. I also purchased Mac n cheese, yams, callalo, and cabbage. Horrible. Very bland and microwaved and I poked my head behind the counter for a peek at the kitchen and caught the light skinned woman (the owners wife or girlfriend) using her bare hands with no gloves on putting some ones food together. I was very disappointed at this place after spending $40 here, each side was A la cart. None came with the meal, and it was $40 totally wasted. I won’t return. I
The grilled jerk chicken at Halfway Tree Restaurant is simply amazing. The chicken is perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat. The jerk seasoning is perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of heat and smokiness. The chicken is served with a side of rice and peas, which are also delicious.
I highly recommend the grilled jerk chicken at Halfway Tree Restaurant. It is one of the best jerk chickens I have ever had. The chicken is so flavorful and juicy, and the jerk seasoning is perfectly balanced. I would definitely order it again.

Customer Service over the phone was great, then when I went to pick up the food I was greeted by a beautiful smile, and amazing customer service skills, the lady that helped me was sooo friendly and helpful. The best service I’ve had in a long time. Food was amazing, so flavorful we got 3 different dinners and all of them were great so much food to eat for a great price. We will be back next time we come for vacation again.
The oxtails and rice are the best I've had in town. I've tried 3 other spots that have oxtail and this is it! The price for the food and the taste is amazing compared to other places charging $20+ for the same thing n not getting the umph. Will be ordering again for sure, this is coming from a bajan.
Food was fry chicken on menu all wing where the rest of chicken parts no flavor jerk shrimp was ok jerk sauce in bottle and put on grill sweet pepper and onion the rice and peas no season where the skellion and thyme flavor hello fried lobster was ok not much to it best thing I ate was the plantain dem not ready yet and the appearance of the place needs cleaning makes you think twice
Everything tasted like a social disease trying to pretend to be food and the staff are surly and homely
The food is GREAT and their specialty healthy drinks are Amazing! The management team are always friendly and welcoming. The best part about this restaurant everything is Made to order “FRESH”. My family and I go here very often and had just about everything on their menu. Hands down to the BEST restaurant in HARRISBURG! Great food and GREAT service.
Definitely not worth the money, cabbage was bland no seasoning rice did not taste traditional and he gave me mostly bone no meat.
Great customer service over the phone and in person. The Rasta Pasta was plentiful and the flavor was decent. Less salt and more seasoning would have been perfect. I love that its made to order. She had it ready in 30 mins and even included extra sauce.
They are actively working on remodeling so excuse the appearance and check em out. I'll be back to try more as this was my first time!
Great place! Enjoyed everything. Had the Kingfish and rice and calaloo. And plantains. Tasted the Brown Stewed Chicken. Excellent. Had a nice juice drink. Excellent again… never get in a hurry man. I just popped in around lunch. A lot of preorders rolled through. Waited patiently and got greeted nicely. Everyone was nice!
The price of food is one price and then they secretly pad your bill and charge you another price. They must be hurting for money when you start padding customers bills.
I tried the curry goat, yams, rice/peas and plantains. The flavors explode in your mouth. Everything was amazing.
Very nice owners, there's other African restaurants in the area that are not very friendly and this place is so nice, comfortable atmosphere, and clean
I was passing through Harrisburg and stopped in for jerk chicken, tostones, and Spanish rice, even though it's in a rough looking spot with an apparent homeless camp behind it. Don't judge it based on that. They were very friendly and the food was tasty. Glad I stopped. Sure beat fast food on my road trip
Don't let the look on the outside deceive you. It might not look nice, but the food is very delicious. It is managed by a couple, who are very friendly and welcoming. The dine in area isn't big and has a couple tables, making it more ideal for takeout. But if you dine in, it is still a good experience. My sister in law who has tried a lot of Jamaican food says it's the best spot.
I definitely recommend it.
