Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa

I scheduled a 90 minute massage last weekend. I can’t recommend this business highly enough. The staff was extremely warm, professional and truly made our day special. The atmosphere was calm, relaxing and inviting. A special thank you to Kai for going above and beyond for us!

I have been coming to this location for a little over 2 years now and I love it. I love Hand & Stone and have been to different locations all over NJ & PA but this is my most frequented mainly due to the amazing staff. The manager, Kai, is so accommodating and kind. Ive seen an handful of different massage therapists here and they have all been wonderful. The spa is clean, the service is great, and the staff is kind. Highly recommend this location!

Today I ran into a bit of a complication with a gift card that was completely my fault. I didn’t expect the manager, Kai, to go above and beyond for to get this issue settled. Thank you so much for helping me! I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Kendra was my massage therapist during my last visit, and I will absolutely be requesting her again. She knew what she was doing, I started to fall asleep. The general manager Kai was amazing and super helpful during the booking process and took awesome care of me! 100/10

Stella, Kendra, or Sheila otherwise you are rolling the dice. Manager is awful. The place has potential but it is crippled by bad leadership on every single level. There are better franchise locations available. If you decide to go there please read my first sentence again

Appointments started on time. Rooms clean and peaceful. Knowledgable therapist. Would recommend

Went to PA for my 1st time ever, decided to visit this to unwind and relax. Nope all the looks so got and the snarky service then I had a gift certificate they even gave that a nasty look. Never again!

I have tried to work with them for months to get appointments booked. They disclose that you have to book a month or more in advance. So when they cancel the scheduled appointments, there’s no hope for rescheduling. Since I joined in May, I have had 5 pre-booked appointments cancelled. I have now accumulated 4 credits for which they can not accommodate before the credits expire. For extra incredulity, they increased the charge by $10 without advanced or disputable notice. This is a service that you are locked into and they can not provide. I agreed to a contract that I thought was going to contribute to peace and calm in my life and it’s actually been quite stressful. I’ve been promised that I would expect calls from the manager and after biweekly check-ins hoping for resolve or to talk to the manager, I am resorting to this. I have never heard from the manager. Please save your time, money, and peace of mind and go elsewhere.

I have been a Hand and Stone member for several years. The massage therapist availability is so poor that I usually have to book out months in advance. I have had several instances where Hand and Stone had to cancel my massage at the last minute because the therapist either quit or was no longer available. As a result, I had several massages backed up to use. I ended up booking my credited massages out and canceling my membership for this reason. Today I had my last massage and I was told I needed to pay out of pocket because I already used all my credits, even though I only booked out for as many credits as I had with my membership. This was an error on Hand and Stone’s part and something they should have made right with a long term member. My therapist, Naomi, is amazing, but I would not recommend going to this Hand and Stone.

I have just had my massage canceled for the THIRD month in a row! 3 different therapists! This place has really gone down hill since the change in ownership last year or the year before! I don't have the kind of availability to just reschedule any time, which is why I book my appointments well ahead of time. I have been going to this location since 2016, so it's very disappointing that service and reliability have declined so much in the last year or two.

Worst place I’ve ever been. The staff and manager Kai have treated me terrible. I canceled my membership two months ago and they are still trying to charge my card. The manager and front desk staff are completely verbally abusive and aggressive. I am following up with a district attorney and police, because they are thieves. Make sure you aren’t a victim.

Unprofessional, disorganized. Lied about having another prepaid massage on account to book one, and proceeded to claim that it was not covered and then threatened to charge the full amount after attempting to cancel after their clerical error. Shockingly poor business. Currently under investigation by the Better Business Bureau. Don’t waste your time and money.

I had a prenatal massage here and it was so relaxing! The table was heated to a nice temperature and I felt as comfortable as laying in my bed at home. The music and atmosphere made it easy for me to feel relaxed. At one point, I’m sure I fell asleep. I can’t wait to go back.

I was a monthly massage member for several years and during that time my experience was great! The staff was very accommodating to my massage needs and were very flexible with regard to my preference of pressure during my massages. It was something I looked forward to monthly. I ended up canceling my membership in October of 2022 as the cost didn’t fit into my budget financially. I was sent paperwork to fill out in order to terminate my membership and I was told and even sent documentation that everything was taken care of. In December I noticed that I had charges on my credit card for the monthly fee, so I had to call again and have them give me a refund, which had occurred right away. Then in January I saw I was charged again. I called and someone said I would be refunded and I got an email confirming that my membership was definitely terminated. I didn’t receive that refund within the week time span that had been communicated to me, so I called again and was told that a manager would be involved and that I would get a call back. I waited 2 more days and still didn’t get a call back. I called once again and I got the same answer from another staff member; that she would talk to a manager and I would be refunded. When I expressed that I was told this before and nothing came of it, the staff said that she wasn’t the one who handled it originally and that she would take care of it. I didn’t get any apology, no manager personally contacted me, and I was made to feel like I was being unreasonable. I am usually very patient and I understand that people make mistakes, and even throughout all of this I was calm and cordial in my demeanor. So, while the service was great during my membership, I give my rating due to the chaos that I have had to deal with since October after canceling my membership.

Unwelcoming. I walked into the place with my husband to get more information on their prenatal massages, which they didn't give and told me to go online for that. On top of no greeting and cold energy as we walked in. It made me not want to get a massage there.
