Hartzell's Auction Gallery reviews
6 Went to the estate auction they held in August 20,2022. I want to first start out by saying how poorly organized this auction was. Item were scattered everywhere and many items they listed for sale were stolen. It started out as every other auction, where helpers would bring out items for one auctioneer to sell. About halfway through, it changed to many items being brought out to be sold by multiple auctioneers. Since everything had to be sold in the estate, they did not designate an auctioneer to a certain section of the property. So everyone had to run back and forth, inside and outside on a 6 acre property with multiple buildings to find the item they wanted to purchase. Towards the end of the auction, the auction switched to people had to physically bring the items they wanted to the auctioneer to be sold. At this time is when the most theft occurred.
Winners items were not placed in a single location. They were dumped all over the property mixed in with other items for sale. No help was given at finding your purchased lots if the helpers put them somewhere.
I had purchased a lot which included the contents on a moving cart. I was informed that the moving cart was not included with the contents which was fine by me. However, the helper who was in charge of moving the auctioned off items did not put it with the rest of my items. (Please keep note that the items purchased were very heavy and could not be moved during the auction without missing the next auctioned item). I didn’t know at first as everyone’s lots were mixed together but I soon realized I was missing a $210 purchased lot. Upon calling, I was informed that there was nothing they could do.
In addition, I received a call being accused of stealing metal,
signs from a shed located on the property. Not only was this false, I told the workers throughout the auction of people stealing merchandise even pointing them out. They did nothing about that but had the nerve to accuse me of stealing items. Very contradicting and unprofessional.
My first time doing business with Hartzell. Richard is very helpful and professional. I look forward to future auctions.
Honest company to do business with. Goes the extra mile for their clients. Looking forward to doing business with in the future.
Great auction house run by a very professional and friendly family. They make you feel welcome and auction day is a great social day.
Great auction house with quality lots, pictures and descriptions. A first class operation ran by friendly people. I highly recommend this place if you need to decorate your place with original, distinctive items at fair prices.
