Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Lancaster maintains the relatively high standards of Wyndham motels. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and had a very comfortable king sized bed. (Rooms with two beds had a somewhat different layout.) The bedside cabinets each had USB ports for charging devices. There were plenty of electrical outlets throughout the room.

This Hawthorn Suites is very dog friendly! They have special door handle tags welcoming their canine guests! There is a spacious, grassy, fenced in pet relief area, behind the back parking area. It is brightly lit up at night.

The eating area had a sink in addition to the standard microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and coffee maker. There was an eating table with two chairs. There were two sets of metal silverware and a china plate. There was counterspace in addition to shelves. The sitting area had a couch and a comfortable matching chair. That chair did seem to make the room a bit cramped. We adjusted furniture to be more comfortable sitting at the eating area table.

All together there were 5 tables of various sizes in addition to the two bedside cabinets and counter space. The coffee table was on the small size, but it was on wheels so it could be easily repositioned.

The bathroom had an outer, open area with a sink and countertop space. It was separated from the toilet and shower by a door that closed for privacy. The shower area also had countertop space. There was plenty of water pressure and hot water. The towels were large and fluffy. There was shampoo and conditioner, but not body wash or skin lotion. The closet for hanging clothes was spacious and contained a full sized ironing board and iron.

The TV had an adjustable swivel wall mount, so it could be angled towards the couch or towards the bed. Interestingly, the TV remote worked fine, except that it wouldn't turn the TV off or on. Manual push buttons easily accessible on the lower, right hand edge were clearly marked. In addition to power off/on, we found that the volume button on the TV increased the volume better than the remote. Since the TV was several inches from the wall and on a swivel mount, I was able to reach behind and connect my laptop to the TV with the HDMI cable that I brought with me. The WiFi was strong. The password was prominently written at the top of the information card provided for guests.

The complementary breakfast was good. Coffee is available in the large, spacious breakfast room 24/7. They provide flavored coffee creamer as well as regular milk. There was orange juice, apple juice and hot water for tea. When we were there, the selection of breakfast food wasn't exceptional. There were various kinds of breads and muffins. There was hot and cold cereal. They had hard boiled eggs that I heated in the microwave. One very interesting item was the automatic pancake maker. You push a button and you can watch through a glass window as the machine measures out the batter and moves it slowly through a heated section until two small pancakes drop onto a plate at the other end!

There was a small fitness room and a washer/dryer room.

The location was in a triangular shaped piece of land surrounded by highways. There was some traffic noise, but we live in a city so we were used to that. There were trees and grass, nicely landscaped. There was a gazebo, benches and a picnic table. There is a Walmart two minutes down the road. It isn't located in the scenic Pennsylvania Dutch areas, but they are easily accessible by highway.

The place has bugs and I have pictures to prove it, management did nothing to resolve the problem.

The receptionist at check-in was not very nice. We have been staying at this hotel yearly for many years. What was once a good breakfast is now don’t bother going down to see what they have because it is no longer breakfast. The side entrance did not lock allowing anyone to enter without detection 24/7. There was no paper or pens in the rooms.

Booked a queen double suite and was given a king suite. Said they couldn't refund the difference for the lesser room. Staff although friendly very pass the buck. It took almost a week to get that answer of no refund could be given. Was told the manager was off for a week. With that being said very poor customer service from a Wyndham hotel.

1. Service desk personnel have 0 people skills, no smile, no greeting, no interest in the customer whatsoever. Do they realize their income depends largely on the customer? Do they realize if there are no customers there won't be a need for them? I've never been to a hotel we're we felt so unwelcome. Seriously, your front desk personnel NEED training and attitude change.

Although my room was already paid for, they even had me sign paperwork to then say It was too early to check -in, (which I already knew and understood). So why take my signature and CC at that time?

2. Thankfully, the breakfast room personnel were friendly, helpful, attentive and had a great attitude. They truly made a positive difference there! I was so impressed with the hispanic breakfast room personnel that I let them know what a great difference they made!

The breakfast menu is very limited. There are no Gluten free options and no dairy-free milk beverage. As for GF, I only found hard boiled eggs and some sliced canned peaches.

3. In the room: Room was clean and spacious. There was not one tiny piece of note paper to write on and/or pen in the room. The upper drawers were missing in both, the bedside table and the dresser.

Clean rooms that is the important part.
In my room 324 the window was stuck so it didn’t close and it was October. Loud and cold. Breakfast is okay.

Terrible hotel. Do not recommend to anyone. Advertised as full buffet breakfast but had few muffins and coffee.hotel is located right by the highway so the room we stayed in was really noisy all night. In essence not a good location for families

Bread for toast and a gross pancake machine, those are your breakfast options, smell and a stained room. Very disappointing.

Not a bad hotel and good value for money. It's at the end of the strip and near the highway but it was quiet in the rooms

BED WAS LIKE A ROCK AT HAWTHORNE BY WYNDOM LANCASTER. MY HUSBAND AND I GOT NO SLEEP. AND THE TRAFFIC FROM HIGHWAY OUTSIDE WAS TERRIBLE ALL NIGHT LONG! 234.93 FOR ONE NIGHT OF NO SLEEP ON A ROCK HARD BED WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME, SO DISSAPOINTED! NEVER AGIAN! RUINED OUR ENTIRE NEXT DAY OF VACATION DUE TO LACK OF SLEEP! DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

Disappointed no outside seating plus no sitting room with tv where others could sit too! Pretty sad gazebo out back not inviting. Breakfast could use improvement need larger muffins, use adult paper dishes. Not play dished that nothing fits in. Having to make three trips to cereal to get one standard bowl was just informed only trash collected in rooms and towels. No making beds or vacuuming due to Covid. Hmmmm this was not printed on travel ad or I wouldn’t be here, too close to highway so very noisy indeed! People checking us in or out not too friendly but workers are! Soap bars as small as mini cookie and shampoo conditioner look like toys so bring ur own! Btw towels rough as card oars. End of nightmare! ……

On a traveling adventure. Booked online. The room was ok. Dated but pretty clean. Between the poor confused service desk lady and the online booking they somehow messed up our payment and we spent over an hour in the lobby waiting on them to sort it out. It was stressful and embarrassing even though it was in no way any fault of ours. Really should have just canceled and left but we had already checked into our room and I had no idea what might happen with our payment. Anyway finally got things straightened out and stayed the night. Will probably never be in that area again anyway.

Shoutout to Tyler! I was charged twice for my dog (even though I already paid the fee in the beginning). Tyler was the person who checked my family and I in. Therefore I gave him a call and told him about the issue. He kindly helped me figure out this issue and made sure I got my money back. Additionally, kitchen staff were very nice and attentive!

The only reason why I gave this hotel a 4 star was because no one came to take the trash out of our rooms due to covid policy. I had to call the front desk (someone else besides Tyler) to pick up trash bags and toilet paper.

This is a decent hotel if your stay is only for a couple of days. Rooms are a little outdated, but clean and functional (mattress is comfy). Breakfast is no good at all. If you are a smoker be careful cause this is a no smoking building (you can’t smoke nearby the hotel at all or you’ll get a $250 usd fine)
