Herc Rentals, Philadelphia PA

This branch probably does fine with the customers from their local area, but don't expect help if you didn't rent your equipment from their area. A trailer I rented from an out of state branch broke down (wheel came completely off the axle spindle) near this branch. It was after hours and I sat along the Turnpike for 5 hours before they finally got some help there and got me moving again. Although the trailer they brought me to replace the broken one was not capable of carrying the load I had on. I had to make two trips. They've had the broken trailer in their repair shop for two weeks and it's still not repaired. I've spoken with them several times on the phone. They have made it abundantly clear that they are "doing a big favor for another branch". I understand I'm not one of "their customers". I AM a Herc customer and Herc is a national brand, just not in Philadelphia apparently.

Helpful staff got my rental quick and even helped load it. Great pricing compared to local stores, worth the drive for me.

Can't say I had the same experience as the last review. Came in to rent a truck and trailer and staff at counter could not have been nicer. They got me in and out, explained the charges, and sent me on my merry way. When in the area I would definitely go back.

The service was horrible. I talked to 1 guy that set the rental up for and got it all ready. First, I walked into their office and no-one said anything to me for about 5 minutes while I stood there. They then don't even offer to help me hook up the equipment or even radio 1 of the 2 yard guys driving forks around the yard. I pull up to the trailer to load the machine, now mind you the rep that I set up my reservation with put directly on the paperwork that I would have a pintle hitch. They brought out the wrong trailer. Now rather then switching the hitches out I have to go back in and switch paperwork, because of their error. There actually we a lowboy truck driver in the yard loading equipment that helped me. Not the yard guys though. Anyway, then I get the trailer hooked up, and no-one said anything about them not supplying chains and binders to strap the machine down (atleast some that you can rent. After all it is their machine, you would think they would) They literally complained when I asked for chains and binders. So a yard guy finally brings me them at this point and wants to "help me now". Thank you to the rep that got everything in the system, and the low boy truck driver that helped me in the yard when the yard guys couldn't. The office was a mess, and I don't mean dirty, I mean just very unorganized and very unprofessional. I will not go back here or use this company again.
