Highland Park Club Apartments

I lived in a satellite rental for 2 years and loved it. I am moving out of state otherwise I would have continued renting from them. The best property management company and rentals in PGH.

HPCA is a great apartment at an affordable price. I love everything about HPCA (Pet friendly environment, dog park, gym, pool, ease of access to public transport are some of them to name). Management responds to the complaints in timely manner. Office staffs are very friendly.

Raised rents in the middle of the pandemic because they were struggling to find new tenants and needed to keep their bottom line up. Apartments are okay (overpriced for what you're getting), but you absolutely do not want to deal with the idiots administering the property. Look elsewhere if you can, and make sure you have decent legal representation on backup if you can't.

I have lived at Highland Park Club Apartments for a little over 6 years now in a one bedroom apartment. Overall, my experience here has been the ideal apartment living situation. My apartment is spacious, and whenever maintenance is needed I receive a response within 24 hours. I have never had a problem not be addressed in a timely manner and everyone in the front office is very kind and welcoming. I love having the pool and courtyard space in the summer also. It’s easy to make friends with neighbors if you are new to town, and fun to watch all the dogs run around outside. I would definitely recommend HPCA for affordable living in a great area of Pittsburgh! Plus they hold fun events throughout the year for the holidays, like pet Halloween costume contests)

This will be my 7th year living at Highland Park Club Apartments and it has been such a great experience. The best I can describe it would be that I live in a park. A really nice park with plenty of green space, a pool, a gym and an awesome dog park.

I work in Squirrel Hill, so having a great apartment that isn't too far away is crucial. But getting around town via public transportation is super easy at the 71A bus stop is basically on the property.

Great location, great amenities for a decent price. Pet friendly, with a beautiful property:)

I have lived in this apartment for over four years now and I love everything about this place. From location to management’s prompt response. It is very pet friendly and I made tons of good memories here. I met lot of nice people and cute furry friends. It is one of the best pet friendly apartment in affordable rent and love the huge lawn, dog park and little garden slot they allot tenants every year. The apartment also has pool, gym, storage room and laundry at the basement. Easy to street park or can get paid garage. I recommend highland park club apartments to everyone who wants to rent a place in a calm, green and positive neighborhood.

We recently move to HPCA and it has been the best decision ever. Management is extremely diligent and respond to all of our request, the community is very inclusive and the apartments are of great quality. We highly recommend people to join our community and become part of the HPCA family.

HPCA is one of the best apartments that I’ve ever stayed at. The staff is super friendly and accommodating to tenants’ requests, the community in/around HPCA is beautiful and I’ve never had any major issues with the apartment. It’s a dog-friendly community. I’d highly recommend anyone in Pittsburgh to consider staying here.

The experience of living at HPCA all depends on how well maintained your apartment is.
We were shown the show unit on our initial tour (which, of course) that is well decorated and has the nicer cabinetry, etc. The unit my husband and I lived in looked different than that of the show unit and seemed like it was in need of some work and updates. Within a few weeks the dishwasher overflowed and would do this at least once a year while living there. The toilet would not flush as the chain and flush lever were being kept together with a bread tie. Our ceiling started dripping water as the roof was in need of repair. While HPCA worked with us, it was still annoying to have a dripping ceiling for the better part of a year as they could not repair the roof during the winter season.
Again, this is why I say it all depends on the apartment you are assigned. If it's in great condition, your experience will be pretty good. Ours was a constant state of contacting maintenance with issues and concerns. And I believe renters should contact the staff to keep the units in their best shape when there is an issue, small or large. It is an older building so it comes with the territory but with our unit, it was always something.
But we did enjoy getting to have a dog at the apartment, as they are pet friendly, as well as having nice, well-maintained grounds to live on and enjoy.

Overall, this is a good place to live. I've been living there for a few years, and it does have its advantages and disadvantages. The community is great, the office staff is very friendly and tries their best to help the tenants, but issues on the property do get ignored.

Our kitchen sink started leaking last week. I called and maintenance was at our unit within 2 hours and we had a new faucet the same day. Really appreciated the prompt response, thank you HPCA!

I lived at HPCA in building 1027 for two years. I had very few issues during my two years there and any issues that I had were taken care in a timely manner. I had one issue with hot water while I was there and a plumber was to my apartment in about 15 minutes on a Saturday morning. The amenities are great, the proximity to Bryant Street & Highland Park was awesome, the other tenants in my building were friendly/quiet, the rent was reasonable for the location and it was really nice to have everything (with the exception of cable/internet) included in my rent.

If I hadn’t decided to purchase a home this fall I absolutely would have renewed my lease.

My wife and I spent 2 years with HPCA and would’ve stayed longer if we didn’t purchase a home. The apartments are beautiful and very fairly priced. Utilities included is a great peace of mind. The staff is very friendly, responsive, and overall wonderful. Any time anything needed repairing they were very prompt. The neighbors are all friendly and great to be around. We never had any issues with late night noises, partying, or anything like that. Grounds and amenities are beautifully maintained. We especially liked the pool, BBQs, gym, and the secured package room. Two bus stops on the 71a line make commuting into Oakland/Downtown a breeze. Quiet neighborhood, but still close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Seriously amazing value and great staff – what more could you ask for!
