An excellent place to visit during spring, summer, fall or winter. Each season provides great view and recreational opportunities.
The camping facilities are great and the lake provides water sports and skiing opportunities in respective seasons.
It is not much corwded and just a few minutes from Wellsboro town in case you want some place to get good food.

I love a good state park, especially one that has a beach. It’s really lovely (and driving across the spillway is kind of wild for people that think the carousel is a little too much!) But the maple sugar shack was supposed to be open until 4: 00 and at 3: 30, it was definitely not open, and we were bummed. Maybe we didn’t understand, but regardless, clearer communication would help the whole visitation experience be more interactive

Secluded, quiet and tranquil! So opposite than what we're used to and loved every minute of it! Located near so many great sites and cool places. The country side is an event in itself! ️?

We stayed at a cabin here on Labor Day weekend of 2022. We had a great time hiking, boating, and fishing. The park also has a nice playground for the youngsters. The park's greatest asset though is the resident naturalist, Jim Mucci-who offers a wealth of knowledge on wildlife in the park as well as statewide. We enjoyed immensely his presentations on the elk, bear, coyote, and bobcat populations in PA. Don't let the relatively small size of this park dissuade you from visiting. This is a very nice state park-very quiet atmosphere in relation to some of the other state parks in PA!

I camped there and loved it. There are four sections, two of which accomodate pets. There are some with full hookup some with just electric, or just tent camping. Cabins too. Beautiful lake, great trails, clean, bathrooms are plentiful.

Stayed two nights in the park. The cabin was excellent. All the amenities of home but out in nature. Staff was very helpful. Lots of deer. Got easily Within 25 yards of feeding deer. They really didn't seem to care that we were there. Can't really say much about activities in the park as it rained almost nearly our entire stay but I'm sure everything is worth checking out. Will definitely come back and not soon enough!

We've been up to Hills Creek for our fourth time renting a modern cabin. I could live there, it's such a beautiful and well maintained park. Whether hiking the trails or relaxing by the fire each evening, we thoroughly enjoy our time there. The park's employees seem to really like their jobs and the beauty and appearance of this gem is a testament to their hard work. A short trip to the west brings you to Wellsboro and about the same distance to the east is Mansfield. Hills Creek is conveniently situated in the middle. Can't wait to book another stay in our favorite cabin.

Large camping sites with several nice hiking trails on the property. Paved roads. Grass was cut in the common areas but was quite high on the campsites. Wet, high grass kept our shoes pretty damp. Additionally if you rent a cabin there call the day you are arriving to ensure your key is left in the pickup box. Our friends visited us and stayed in a cabin but no key was available when they arrived at the after hours pickup box to retrieve it. They were initially told that is where they would find the key. I contacted the park host who Initially had no idea how to contact the park manager. After waiting awhile she was able to locate his number and he in turn called someone else.
We eventually got the key but it took some time which is not great in the dark and in the rain. Almost an hour from when they arrived at the park to being able to unload at the cabin. Too long.

Absolutely beautiful and fun. Winterfest is awesome. Swimming area, fishing, kayaking are all wonderful. Bathrooms can be a little far for some people.

Beautiful scenery. Wildlife abound. Had different types of squirrels and even a bear on our camp site. Great for stargazing. Curfew is 9pm so it seems a little early. Bathrooms are very clean

We went to hike the trails and they weren't maintained well or planned well. Too much time crossing the road and the parhs were very narrow with long grass crowding in. Major tick danger, even with repellent. However, the camping and beach areas were nice. The restrooms were fairly clean.

It was okay. Fishing sorta stinks because the fish are not biting aggressively and also there is many lillypads and such

We had a nice campsite in Loop D. This area was not crowded at all, but the lower loops were nearly full. There were enough things to do to keep you busy if you wanted to participate.

Hills Creek State Park is a wonderful park consisting of over 400 acres and offering many recreational activities for people who enjoy the outdoors. There are many trails located within the park and the Mid State Trail passes through the park boundaries as well. There is a lovely lake that allows for canoeing, kayaking, and boating. There are many campsites for a wide range of camping options within the park. There are also yurts, small cabins and larger cabins available for rent in the camping area as well. This is a great spot to enjoy nature in North Central PA!

Hills Creek was a nice park, however they really pack the campsites in really close together. Bathrooms were always clean and nice. DCNR did lots of rounds making sure all was calm.

Hiking trail was awesome and not too difficult. Needs some picnic tables during the hike for a lunch break. Once we got done hiking, we cooled off with a nice swim.
