Hillside Society reviews
22I found my very special Izzy dog she is the best we all enjoy her she gets along with my special needs granddaughters and very playful I was worried at first because of her pass but she’s has become a real part of the family I always got my animals from the Spca and alway had great dogs come out adopt these special animals
Very nice workers there was assisted by a young lady named Bailey who was super helpful. Introduced us to a beautiful pitty but unfortunately we didn't adopt because she seemed a little timid. I like the fact that they separate the dogs by aggressions and let you know first hand which are pet friendly and kid friendly. Let us interact right away with the dogs. They also have a cat section and I think a critters section.
Where should I start. If I could give 0 stars I would in a heartbeat. We adopted a dog from this shelter. They said he was good with other dogs/ cats and males. Three false information. We had to unfortunately surrender him back to the shelter. We were upset we had to do that. The girl who did the paperwork was 100% the most rudest person i ever met. She felt out called me a liar. Who in there' right mind calls someone a liar if they didnt know the situation. Place is dirty and falling apart. No one seems to know what's going on around there. Run as far away from this place. Do not give then your business. They want money not happiness of the pets.
It was mainly a great experience expect for the fact that they were a bit unorganized.but, we adopted a wonderful dog named benji! He’s great:)
Great friendly staff.lots of furry babies. Came home with a blk and white female. Mom got a calico.not ready yet.but in a week or so.she'll have a kitten
Awful, would not let us adopt a dog and have no explanation executed it in a very rude manner too, told us they believe we are unfit to hold and animal after the lady when we went to visit said were very deserving of the dog we went to visit. All they do is hoard they’re animals. They have also lied about the animals they’re selling stated the dog we were looking at was potty trained when he peed all over the floor. Please take your business anywhere else but here, awful shelter.
Cats are all sick. We are still treating ours with meds.second trip to the vet. Poor thing had a crusty mucous nose and coughs. She can’t even meow that’s how congested she is. Disgusting place. I will never donate to this place
I get it there’s a lot of cruel people in the world and it can be discouraging when you work in a shelter but learn some common manners please!
Save your time and money and go some place else! The animals dont seem to be very well taken care of and most of the staff dont seem to care. Im not a animal person, but even I think its bad there.
The people are so caring here. My daughter's love to volunteer to walk the dogs when they can. Very helpful if you are looking for a pet!
Went to adopt a dog today and we were turned down because of not taking my animals to the vet for unnecessary work, I took them when they were ill. All shots were given at “clinics” which they don’t see appropriate, you must spend hundreds of dollars! That being said, I know many people who have adopted kittens that died days later after saying they were vet checked and were not I’ll! Never go there again!
This is a no kill shelter but most animals here are not in good shape
Above is a review I wrote years ago. Hillside is in a much better condition now and I'm happy to say that
Please shut this place down, it’s disgusting to see all the sick cats and how poorly the animals are treated, Go to Ruth Steinert.
Cats are sick and do not look like they get any medical care. The woman in the small dog room is not very friendly and gave me an attitude when I asked to see the adoptive dogs. Will not go back again.
I'm disappointed in this facility. I pray they pull it together for the sad souls that pass through there. Just my opinion and experience of the place over the years
Good place to adopt a dog or cat.should be no problems as long as you can take care of your animals.
Ive read some of the reviews.i feel these people are just very cautious and just want the best for these poor some abused animals there. Ive seen the love these people have for the animals and its very very nice to see such love compassion and dedication to them. I took several dogs for walks and the dogs wanted to go back to their home* which made me smile. Good job staff on taking such awesome care of these angels.
Love these people and their vision on animal rights. Wish everyone could see what is happening with animal negligence.
This shelter really has workers that love the animals they help. They encourage people to come and walk dogs and donate but are not pushy about it. We got our dog from here and they were so nice and made sure the dog was the right fit for us, they checked the dog with cats before we adopted (we have 2 cats already) gave us a bag of food, 2 leashes, and 2 collars. They love it when you send them pictures of their "babies" as well.
You can feel how much those people who work there love animals. Dogs are pampered there, played with and kissed. We found our neighbors dog. She was well taking care of and happy. Wish people would donate lots of money for those beautiful dogs and cats and reward those compassionate great human beings.
