Holiday Inn Express Harrisburg East - Hershey Area, an IHG Hotel

I had booked this hotel through work for an event in the area. Upon arrival at night in the dark, I canceled my reservation. The parking lot was very dark with minimal lighting so it immediately seemed sketchy. There were many hotel guests loitering. Smelled like weed. I got cat-called and wolf-whistled at while walking into the hotel. That was when I turned around and left. This hotel does not feel safe or clean at all. Would not recommend. They need to add additional lighting in the parking lot and prevent loitering, smoking, and drinking in the parking lot.

The desk staff was welcoming and friendly. The bed was superb, location was fairly quiet, room was nicely equipped with toiletries and coffee machine
The breakfast was the best I ever had in a hotel included breakfast, good variety and quality. Highly recommend this place and definitely will be back next time on route to Florida.

I had a great stay at this hotel! It is an old hotel but it has been well-maintained. The mattresses are huge and comfy. The pillows big and fluffy. The front desk ladies, Cheryl and Lakisha, were friendly and super helpful. The free breakfast was outstanding! I loved the oatmeal and turkey bacon and there was a large assortment of foods to choose from. They have fresh baked goods at the front for guests to enjoy all day. Even the AC was perfect. I always stay at Holiday Inn Express when I travel and this is one of the best I’ve stayed in.

We stayed at this location this past weekend for 2 nights 10/06 and 10/07. The night crew is so nice. Very polite and professional. Our room was picked up when we left for the day on 10/6. The location is nice. Close to grocery shopping and target n nice brewery. My only complaint is most hotels. The shower head had pink mold on it and the caulking in the shower had some mold. The bathroom floor was dirty and the rug! My toddler was walking around bare foot which I don’t allow but I did this day and before bed his feet were so brown from walking on the rug. The hotels need to use a mold shower spray on the shower heads and caulking. The rug floors need to be power washed at least 2 times a month. Needs to be standard of there is rug in a hotel room. Also since they are pet friendly they need to wash the rugs. My allergies were so bad from residual pet dander

Rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The front desk staff got me checked in, they weren’t the most friendly people but they did their job. The location is okay well.

We checked in and stayed on the third floor. Hallway reeked of marijuana. Room smelled of stale smoke and air freshener. Bed had a wet spot in it. We contacted the front desk and they moved us. When we called and tried to speak with the general manager Jamie, she refuses to talk and will evade calls. Worse she tried to say we put the liquid on the bed which ruined my wife's pajamas. Room was filthy.

Very clean hotel and friendly and competent staff. Large rooms, parking. Good step. Breakfast is not extraordinary but sufficient.

Don’t plan on getting any sleep before midnight here, as the place is constantly swarmed by inconsiderate families and their unruly, ill-mannered children. Kudos to the staff for recognizing this as a problem and attempting to mediate it by implementing rules… sadly there’s only so much you can do. Aside from that, my room was clean, everything worked and I appreciated that they offered complimentary snacks in the lobby.

Unfortunately this year was my last time staying here due to many things. Before I get to that I have to say the staff is amazing! Friendly and helpful! The location is great. You have everything you can think of. The breakfast was great. I was so unhappy about how the hotel wasn't clean enough. We stayed for 5 days and only once got room service. We were advised to take our towels and leave them outside along with our garbage. The washer has mold in it. That is very unsanitary. The hand sanitizers on some of the floors were always empty. I felt as if my room was not vacuumed. There was a smell in my room. Last time i stayed the hotel was very clean. They would always send a letter underneath the door that stated we are short staff. The rooms for check-in were getting cleaned!

Very quiet hotel. I checked in around 11: 30 at night and the young lady at the front desk was kind enough to give me an extra hour in the morning, so I didn't need to check out til noon.

I spent one night here as I was traveling through the area to Virginia!

I was greeted by José at check in and he was amazing, professional and friendly answering all of my questions and gave me a very good overview of the hotel and the area!

The rate was very low, the room was very CLEAN and the bed was so comfortable and fresh!
As I left my room to check out I was greeted very warmly by two very friendly ladies, my understanding was that one of them was the Director of Housekeeping and she asked me how my stay was.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

Horrible first of all one elevator specially in the morning it takes a long time to get the elevator because the workers are using it customers using it do your math second I was there for two days first night when we arrived when I made the reservation over the phone, my room had king size bed with sofa bed for two kids so I asked for two pillows and two blankets, so the worker behind the desk at first she refused to give us one more blanket and pillow after we start arguing over it then the manager came to give us pillow and blanket and they said the hotel is non-smoking but our floor smelled like marijuana all night and comes to hygiene. It wasn’t that clean I should call the company to refund my money and we were four people in the room with two towels only and then despite of everything the morning that we checked out, I went to breakfast area to get some food so there was no bowls there was some oatmeal left when I asked the worker she kind of got upset because I’m asking for a bowl and she was slamming the doors and the keys for the doors a lot of people where complaining about it kept getting deactivated you go back to your room. You cannot open the door when you come back there’s a long line people waiting and then when you talk to the front desk they were giving you attitude like it’s customers fault key not working

Great spacious rooms, I was sick and this nice lady, I forgot to get her name, but she made me tea, and brought me water, thank You, I really appreciated that!

Such a wonderful staff rooms cozy they are about to undergo renovations and this place will rock even more so than it already does

Very friendly service, pets allowed! Everything was clean and neat.we slept like logs including the dog highly recommend

I asked for a hairdryer when I checked in, I never received it. Tub didn't drain, air conditioner made noise.

I've stayed at other locations and never had this experience. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but my goodness I couldn't wait to leave.

Pros: They did provide housekeeping every night. The breakfast setup wasn't bad, and the gentleman working the area was very pleasant.

We stayed at this holiday inn for a few days for a work conference in the area. The reservation was booked by my husband's company. During checkout there was some confusion about the company credit card that was on file. Instead of trying to help in any way whatsoever, Cheryl at the front desk only aggressively told us that they need another card - they were treating us like we were trying to commit a crime. While my husband was trying to get it straightened out, they literally told me I had to leave. While I was eating breakfast they told me I had to leave. It was the most ridiculous and disrespectful hotel experience I have ever had.

I’ve had hotter water in Mexico. When I complained I was told the hot water is turned off between 8 pm and 12. They also said that there was a sign on the door to this effect. Would I stay and pay $134 including tax tor a cold shower? Would you? Of course not!
Additionally, the TV did not work. They went down to “fix it” but we never heard another thing from them.
What are two things someone renting a room after a long day of traveling? A hot shower and a little TV. I am livid! Will NEVER stay again in a Holiday Inn of any sort.
The staff was agreeable and said they would b3 happy to use some rubber bands to hold the broken shade up so we could make it look like a room, not a cave. That’s three things that were not functional. Can’t wait for breakfast fun!
