Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shippensburg, an IHG Hotel

The hotel is nice, free breakfast, and clean.except for the intense smell of cigarette smoke in the room. It was horrible. We reserved the last room available so it was this room or search for another which wasn't an option as I was just too tired to drive anymore. I would not recommend unless you can reserve a non-smoking room. It smelled like a heavy smoker resided there for a year and left the day we arrived.

I'm currently staying here for the week. The remodeling is nice, as well as, the rooms. The beds are comfortable. I noticed that there is a lack of cleaning crews. This is day 4 and there has been no cleaning service. I was advised that per COVID the cleaning of the rooms has changed but this should have been advised at check-in. You have to request for an attendant to clean your room even though we are here for a week. Ok, no problem. I requested it and asked for more towels and wash clothes. I also placed the trash outside the door so when they brought the towels and wash clothes they would pick those things up too. Well when the young lady brought the towels (we have 4 people she only brought 2 wash clothes and a ton of towels) she failed to get the trash. I saw her motion to pick it up but it was left there. There's also a bag of trash that was left in the hallway since yesterday. I also requested 2 more wash clothes and never got them. I'm not impressed with the service so far. It may change before I leave. I'll keep you posted. Pictures will be posted on the final review.

My room was cleaned on 6.3. Everything is back to normal.

My wife and I stay around 200 hotel nights a year, and this stay was the worst in years! We checked in and Hotel appears new, but as soon as we walked into our room we were both gagging from the wet dog smell. When we mentioned this to the front desk they said it was the farm next door. NO we know the difference! Carpets smell and they like they have not been cleaned since they opened-the walls are banged up-the box spring on our bed was chewed up by a dog-the outdoor furniture is disgusting! Never saw one person cleaning. On a good note: shower was hot and good pressure and breakfast was much better than most IHG hotels.

Very disappointed. Thought we would’ve had good luck given the rating, but that wasn’t the case. Upon arrival, we checked the bed and found the sheets had never been changed from prior guests. We found a few dark hairs in the bed. Front desk person was able to give us a clean sheet set but we had to change them ourselves. We expected a little better, especially since it wasn’t cheap.

Be warned about booking with this hotel. We booked through priceline. We checked in and out and then were also charged by the hotel after checkout. This is where the fun begins. Trying to get your money back from this hotel is beyond frustrating. We called our credit card company who put a stop payment on the charge. Two weeks later, the hotel charged us again. I called the hotel but the general manager does not answer her phone nor does sales. Finally, a young girl said that she took care of it and the money was credited back to my account. Two days later, there is no money back in my account. And, this hotel has my credit card which they have no problem using! I was even told that yes, they received payment from priceline but it could not be explained to me why I was being charged by the hotel as well. If something goes wrong here, good luck trying to get it resolved. I will get my money back eventually - it's the unbelievable hassle of having to just get someone competent to help you at the hotel.

The hotel treats employees and guests badly. They can't even pass an inspection because the general manager doesn't know how to be professional or treat her employees.

Came for a Train show at the East Broad Top Railroad in Rock Hill, Pa. Stayed at Shippensburg, since it kept us close to Pizza Hut and Wendy's for the kids. Nice pool and hot tub. Nice, big rooms, very quiet, and next to Dunkin Donuts.

The young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and sweet. She got me and my companion a conveniently located room -we had a u-haul and an oxygen machine- even after checking in after 10 pm. Great service, truly appreciated.

Best choice for a hotel in Shippensburg. Nice clean room, very comfortable bed and pillows, great shower, powerful A/C. No complaints at all, would highly recommend.

The room was clean to the eye but the bathroom smelled like the pipes had sewage backed up in them. I bought a hepa filter for the bathroom and bleached the shower to help with the odors. Front desk Staff was friendly.

Nice new Holiday inn 2 mins from parx casino! Rooms are so huge, spacious and modern, as we had the standard king room. All amenities included, microwave mini fridge ext. Free hot breakfast, which was really delicious! Hotel staff is kind and friendly with an eagerness to help. Overall a 10+! Can't wait to stay again:)

Cleanest hotel ever. Everything from the Managers, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the beds.was perfect. We stayed her on our way to Florida and on our return.

I do not recommend for families with small children.
Not sound proof, floors and walls are very thin.

Nice location, staff was very friendly and room was clean.
They only offer housekeeping upon request which is fine but the price surely didn't reflect that. I thought a bit pricey for the area.
But linens smelled clean and fresh and everything looked fairly new in the room.
We did have breakfast one morning of our stay and it was decent for an included breakfast. Good selection of food and it was pretty tasty. We did go just as they were closing so some items were gone but that is understandable since we were there 15 minutes prior to the end.
