Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wyomissing, an IHG Hotel

My husband and I stayed for one night while attending a concert nearby. I will preface this review by saying that we travel often and I try to never post a negative review unless I really feel it’s warranted.

That being said, check in time is listed at 3 pm. We arrived around 3: 45 pm and waited a few minutes to check in due to guests ahead of us. We were notified our room was not ready and should be ready in 20 minutes. We waited in the lobby area for around 25 minutes with other guests who were waiting for their rooms. The other guests rooms were ready so I went to check with the front desk attendant who said it still wasn’t ready. We waited another 20 minutes, room still was not ready. It was now approaching 5 pm and we had reservations. The “manager” of housekeeping, Maria, came down to the front desk with a/her child and stated our room was not ready because we wanted a “special” room (we paid for a suite). She continued to call the other housekeepers “stupid”. The front desk attendant suggested I ask Maria why she wasn’t assisting to get our room ready, which is very unprofessional to ask a guest to do. Maria then proceeded to yell at the child with her, smoke her vape outside and chat with a person who pulled up outside, all while our room was still not ready. There was no other management on site or available to speak with until Monday morning (our stay was Saturday).

Around 5-515 pm our room was finally ready. The whole situation with Maria was rather appalling and frustrating, not to mention unprofessional. I would not choose to stay at this location again.

The front desk staff weren’t bad but they did not have their a-game running either. When checking in no recognition of member status. No perks were offered.

Room was clean but horrible layout and the smallest bathroom i have ever seen at a hotel. I mean places that or names “motor inn” have more room.

The breakfast bar was routine for the chain.

The price was very good though.

This hotel needs some updating but aside from that the room was very spacious and they had a great breakfast spread. I also really appreciated the Dove shampoo/conditioner/hand soap/lotion in the bathroom. The pumps were all full and so much better than the mini ones most other hotels provide.

Very dull hallways with outdated wall texture and color. Doors to rooms and bathrooms are poorly painted over metal. The double queen room was pretty much a double as the beds did not appear to be queen beds. Four people can fit in there ok but the bathroom is only big enough for one person at a time. The door opens inward and would hit someone in the knees if they were on the toilet! Also, the bathroom faucet is too close to the sink causing water to splash all over the place. THE best thing about the stay was the orange juice!

To have a king suite it wasn't what I expected bed room was a nice size but it took like 3 to 4 hrs for the heater to really kick in and the bathroom was very small and tight I think the worst part was that when I took a shower the water would take very long to go down the drain it just made me feel dirty standing in my own dirty soapy water the drainage issue needs to be taken care of asap best part was the self made pancake maker was cool staff seemed nice

We asked for more towels did not receive and and the fan was so dirty that that it has so much dirt on it it was disgusting I will never stay at a holiday in ever again and they would not compensate for the dirty of the room this place is a joke

It's a great place to stay. The people who work here were friendly and helpful. We had a chance to talk to the owner. I would recommend this place to stay.

Really everything was excellent rooms, housekeeping, and breakfast; all hotel employees were helpful, especially at the restaurant. However, the worst thing at this hotel was the reception employee, especially the girl named Gillian.she really was impolite, rude, racist, always angry, nervous, not professional, aggressive, and arrogant. I traveled a lot, but I didn't see a receptionist like that.my kids want to eat cookies, so when they asked her, she told them to go away, no, she could do it differently in a good manner way. My father just had surgery on his knee when I asked her to arrange any room she told me I couldn't when I asked her to see another room to be sure if the bathroom was suitable for my father she told me I couldn't let you see the room with a rude way, she always when she saw me or my kids looked at us with an angry face and nervous. I felt like I trespass on her home or own property.

Free parking. Clean room and quiet. Fast response when reported missing hair dryer. Complimentary breakfast is really decent and has lots of selections.

Good clean hotel, trippy aesthetic, suites are nice. Spacious rooms, good amount of TV channels, really good continental breakfast. Definitely recommend staying here. Has everything you would need.

Well run. Clean. Friendly staff and management.

Conveniently located and right next to an excellent steak and seafood restaurant.

You just can't miss with Holiday Inn Express and this one is no exception!
The staff was wonderful and accommodating, from the desk clerks, the breakfast gentleman (thanks again) to the housekeeping lady. I highly recommend this hotel.
My only negative is that the bathroom was small and the door didn't stay open, so I ran into the door in the middle of the night! (No harm done).

The rooms were very cleaned smelled good the staff was very nice and friendly. Nydia went beyond her duties and made sure my stay was great she is a wonderful person and very helpful thank you Nydia! The pool and hot tub was so clean and refreshing. The fitness center has everything and was so great. Breakfast was ok i just think they could have scrambled eggs instead of omelets otherwise my stay was wonderful i will be back thank you everyone.

If I could give no stars I would. The only good thing I can say about the stay was, the staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. Going to the first room was like going through a maze to get to it. The room was extremely small and didn’t have any air. We were told the room was a closet prior to it being converted to a guest room. We already had everything unpacked before we realized this. The second room had air but a strong chemical smell almost to the point of burning your throat. The bathroom was so small that you had to almost stand on the toilet to get the door closed. The inside door handle to the bathroom was falling off. Bathroom door at the bottom was all chipped up and Large stain on the carpet by the bed. A Note was left under door that they were short staffed so there would be no room service. Went to get fresh towels from the housekeeper and she didn’t speak English. We did go to front desk to get some and they sent replenishments back up to room. The room wasn’t clean. Not a good stay!

My husband and I stay here this past weekend. From the minute we walk in you could smell that in was well kept and clean. Our room was very nice and nice space. The pool and hot tub was amazing. The breakfast was delicious. The gentleman that check us in was extremely nice also. I would give this place ten stars. My husband and I had stay at many places this one is in our top ten. Thank you Again for a wonderful stay and weekend.

The associates up front were extremely welcoming, pleasant & courteous. Lovely and although they were booked for the weekend. They offered accommodations for the following week.

We did not like this hotel. The bathrooms are extremely small and the location is not ideal.

I reserved this room in Early December. I asked at that time, if no matter what time we arrived, would we be able to get the room we requested and paid for especially because we booked so early. We were assured we would. We stayed there during the Berks Jazz fest for one night in April 2022. When we arrived, the check-in associate said it was the last room available for the type we requested. The room was not very clean. Floors were dusty with hair on floors and bathroom sink was slightly clogged and water took awhile to go down. There was mold in the drainage outlet in the sink. The air conditioner unit was very noisy. Upon complaining, there were no other rooms available to us with a king bed so we had to stay there. The noise kept my husband up all night. The tv remote did not work in the sitting area so we had to call to the front desk to complain. A desk clerk came up, checked the remote, finally realized it could be the batteries. After replacing them, the television worked fine. I was not pleased at all with our experience and we left before breakfast the next morning. I probably will not stay there again.

My shower caddie had double shampoo, and conditioner was empty. Other than that it was perfect!

Parking was an issue because of a concert. But was disappointed you guys tried billing my card before I even checked in.
