Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre - East Mountain, an IHG Hotel, Wilkes-Barre PA

Room has no fridge, king bed was comfortable, clean. Hot breakfast was nice. Easy access to highway

Stopped here while traveling. Looked forward to the hot tub, but just bubbles moving cold water around. Went down for the breakfast that was advised only to find out it wasn't free. It wasn't mentioned at check in that you had to have it added. Other than that it was an ok place.

The room was not fully clean. There was hair all through the bathroom. The shower didn't drain. The shower curtain was to short and two feet in front of the tub. The shower water was not contained to the tub and flooded the the bathroom floor. Creating a hazardous slip and fall conditions. When informing the front desk of this. They said o where aware of the problem and there nothing we can do about it.

This is a nice place but on the way out I found out my air conditioner on the left side of it it had mold so we reported it so that's why they got three stars cuz if not they would have got five.

Very quiet, breakfast was good. Employee at the front desk is great. Enjoyed the stay so far.

For the price, it’s not worth your money compared to all the other hotels in the area.

Checkin was not helpful at all and never mentioned anything pertinent to the hotel or services.

Rooms did not have a microwave or a mini fridge and we only discovered this after returning from a late dinner. So I’m sure they would have transported a mini fridge late at night on a weekend.

Hot tub heater was broken, but the jets still worked.

We received no form of voucher or anything at checkin for breakfast, but for nearly 20$ we could eat at the hotel restaurant.

Wouldn’t recommend to parties traveling through.

Overall this was one of the worst price for hotels I’ve stayed at at this price point. There are no fridges or microwaves in the rooms. The room smelled very musty. Service was so so on check in and there is NO complimentary breakfast. You can buy breakfast from the attached restaurant. My husband and son got breakfast and just the two of them was $20.

Another downfall was that the hot tub was not working.

The pluses were that the pool was pretty warm and there was a sauna and shower/locker room available. That’s it. That’s all the pluses. We will not be back. More likely when we pass through the area next we will stay at the Holiday Inn Express just down the road.

Positive: Great location and breakfast.

Not so positive: No microwave nor refrigerator and heater for the hot tub was "broken"

Room and price okay but breakfast is not free. Stale bread, dry potatoes and inedible pancakes. NO WAFFLES (which I way craving) can't eat eggs, pastries questionable. Finally settled on a store bought muffin. All that for $15.

My recent stay at the hotel for a photoshoot was truly exceptional. The spacious and well-designed areas provided the perfect backdrop for our shots, allowing us to capture stunning images effortlessly. The convenience of having a bar in the evening was a delightful surprise, and the option to enjoy drinks on the outdoor patio by the fire pit added a touch of coziness to the experience. The breakfast offered each morning was a delicious way to start the day, rounding off a memorable stay that seamlessly combined comfort, convenience, and great photography opportunities.

I have been coming to this hotel for years and this is unfortunately the worst I have seen it. We booked a suite for our family of 4 with the intention of our kids sleeping on the pull out couch. Upon inspection, it was so uncomfortable that they were going to have to sleep on the floor. We then realized that our air conditioner was broken and after deeming it unfixable, we were moved to a smaller room with 2 queen beds. All of the tvs in the room had starbursts on the screens and were hard to watch. My kids loved the pool but it was incredibly dark as lighting was limited. Also, the hot tub heat pump was broken so we were unable to use it. I will say that the food there was very good and the grounds are very nice. The rooms are definitely in need of updating with regards to AC and mattresses.

Wonderful stay the front desk staff was so nice and friendly and when we called to tell them we were be late checking in there were very understanding and the breakfast buffet was amazing too and the room’s definitely staying here again thanks

What can I say great staff. Everybody was polite and friendly. Breakfast was really good pancakes eggs sausage fresh fruit and so much more. My only complaint could be the guess. Here you have an older woman cooking all the food for us for breakfast. Not one person left a tip when I was there. Well I always tip. So I highly recommend this hotel and don't forget to tip the older one making all the breakfast.

Easy access location with plenty of parking. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean and bright but updates are incomplete. Furnishings are updated but tub and vanity showing serious wear. Very comfortable bed and reading light bedside nice feature. Functional pull out work desk. No refrigerator! No smart TV option to access streaming services. I booked especially for full size pool and enjoyed getting in some laps.

I was so grateful for this stop.
The restaurant was outstanding and the service was excellent
