My husband went to see Dr. Karanjia for ingrown toenails. He has been seen three times for the same thing and the issue still persisted. At his appointment he asked the doctor to numb his toe before removing the nail. Dr. Karanjia stated "We only numb for extreme cases" even after my husband explained his situation and said how painful it was (im not a doctor but just looking at his toes, it looks extreme to me). Since my husband has a high pain tolerance and just wanted the problem fixed he still continued with the appointment. I have been seen by Dr. Sullivan for the same issue and he always numbed me no matter how bad the case was. If anyone has foot issues schedule with Sullivan and not Karanjia. Karanjia has awful bedside manner while Sullivan is always so pleasant and actually listens to you.

Excellent doctor!
Shows great care and concern for his patients!
No nonsense and straight to the point!

Dr. Karanjia should be ashamed for his negligence. How does a young man like myself explain his past with opioid addiction plus refuse pain meds, and this “doctor” still sends a prescription for opiates to my pharmacy? Thank god for my mother noticing THEIR mistake or I might not be typing this right now. 100% unacceptable!

Do yourself a favor and get a second opinion! Mis-diagnosed. Thankful I went with our gut instinct. Do the same!

He took the time to ask me questions and explain to me on details what my issues were and how to correct them. I would recommend him in a heart beat

They are a great teem! Very nice and professional staff! The moment you walk in, you'll feel comfortable. The office is very clean! I highly recommend to see Dr. Karanjia. D. P. M! I swear I will not go in YouTube for my medical advice again!

My provider always listens to what I have to say with interest. I never feel rushed out of the office & my problems have always had a positive outcome.

This dude comes in, talks at me for five minutes, then promptly leaves. And THIS is supposed to be one of the best ortho offices in the country? What does that say about our healthcare? Nothing good, that’s what! I never even got to tell him last time that my pain is now in both feet, not just my right foot. I didn’t have time- and apparently, neither did he! Too busy cycling through patients, I guess. That, and it’s hell trying to get through to the front desk. First you have to go through about a million robot answering machines and call centers! Now I have to find a new doctor to see. Thanks a lot, Rothman.

I have been very pleased with Rothman in downtown Phila. Staff is excellent, very courteous and helpful. Very clean and sanitary offices.
Most important, I have been completely satisfied with Dr. Karanjia, who is very excellent and knowledgeable in his field. He is very professional, concerned and pleasant. This doctor is an asset to the Rothman practice. I travel almost 3 hours to Phila but I don’t mind, the care at Rothman is beyond excellent.
Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion. Diane Bonacci

I will not return to Rothman ever. It is not just this doctor, let me lay it out for you the multiple fails:

1) no receipt for my co-pay. Maybe they were too busy thinking up that quippy line I heard them repeat to every subsequent patient.
2) taken back for x-ray and one of the two other people in that super-small room put on waaaay too much perfume that morning. It was chokingly horrid. When I mentioned it - they tried to blame the patient before me. And I let them know that it was triggeringly excessive (I have both asthma and am on the autism spectrum)
3) One of the providers had called out and they had to reschedule that person's appointments. The two elderly gentlemen who had early morning appointments did not get the message before they arrived, and they were told by staff to come back on Wednesday (it was a Monday morning). One of those gentlemen was clearly in a horrible state and let them know he really needed to see someone that morning and they still did nothing to get him into another provider that morning.
4) My provider. Not so very good at listening. Not even to the answers to questions he asked. He was clearly uninterested in my soft-tissue issue - he was only interested in Covid Toes (no idea what that meant) or osteological issues. Did not review the answers to any of my pre-appointment questionnaires to address any of the concerning issues. Sorry I bored you Dr. K
5) You know that tablet they gave me on which to answer my pre-appointment questions? Yeah, no one got that from me. I could have walked out with a new tablet! I didn't of course, but that should tell you how uninterested they were in me as a patient.

So, yeah, all in all maybe Rothman is too big to care.

Dr. Karanjia is friendly and knowledgeable about medicine. He also has some knowledge of how insurance works, which is useful to know what i should do before agreeing to a procedure, with the intent to not be surprised by a bill. I wish more doctors knew how insurance worked
