Hoss's Steak & Sea House, Shamokin Dam PA

We had the salad bar and crabcake. The salad was gross and wilting and the crab cake was burnt and dry. I'd pass on this again.

Not as good as use to be. They cook two of our steaks wrong and one taste a little weird. The salad bar was out of most of the deserts. If this would have been my first time I would go back.

Food was good but placed a take out order for when we were done eating. The waitress forgot to put the order in. No take out order! I think she was too busy telling the other people in the kitchen about her daughter's kitchen.

Food was ok, not much flavor, when they brought our meals my moms onion rings were cold and the waitress went to get her new ones and didn't bring them back for over 20 minutes, and my broccoli was cold but i just ate it.

The salad bar and food were great. Kind of reminds me of the Ponderosa from back in the day. Very clean and the staff was super attentive. I wish we had one like this back home. Sat and Sunday it's 12 bucks for the Salad and dessert bar. Something for everyone.

Steak that was ordered was delicious. Waitresses were very nice. But the dessert and salad bar were not kept up very nice.

It took the waitress forever to even take our order, we were there waiting so long we ate some. Or so good food from the salad bar n asked for our meals 2 go.

Great job! The Team at Hoss’s was great! The kids loved eating here! They even carved my son’s name into his hot dog! The waitress Izzy…. Is busting her butt!

I brought my Mother here for lunch today. She asked for a grilled cheese off the kid's menu due to stomach issues. They refused. So, she was forced to order french fries which were cold. This resulted in her leaving the restaurant hungry. The server was scatter brained and forgetful. I doubt that I'm going to come back.

I went there for my birthday and the waitresses brought me out a cupcake with a candle in it as they sang to me! That made a great birthday! The food was very good and the restaurant very clean!

I have stomach problems asked if I could order off the children's menu manager refused. I am upset because ha acted if I was scamming him.

Excellent food, excellent staff. Js, the Staff they have atm totally deserve a HUGE raise after seeing the amount of people there tonight. They are short staffed, but who isn't these days. Just be patient and enjoy the salad bar!

First time eating at Hoss. I had a great experience! Bernie was awesome, and attentive. The salad bar was full, had a lot of options. I ordered the fried shrimp.best I’ve had in awhile:) I will definitely be back!

My husband and I stopped @ the one in Shamokin Dam, and although they only had 2 waitresses our waitress was very attentive to out needs

Food was very good, buffet had everything you could want on a salad, desserts very good. My steak very tasty but a little over done. Very clean, wear gloves to bars. I enjoyed.

The food was awful. The "famous" chicken was a boiled gelatinous blob. I ate 3 bites and felt my guts churn. The service was good though.

Great offering, and the wait staff is always friendly. I'm guessing they're a great place to work as I've been coming here for years and they've been able to watch my kids grow up.

This was by far the worst decision to eat here. The service was subpar, starting with messed up drink orders and half my food not even making it to the table. The tips were ordered medium with mushrooms and onions and baked potato. Potato was old and cold. Meat was charburnt and over well, along with no mush and onions. The salad bar was not fresh or appealing and half of it tasted rancid. We have loved Hoss's, but as of right now, I will no longer waste my time and money.

The salad bar is wonderful! Use it as a meal or even add it to a meal for just a couple bucks extra. The salad bar has all your typical salad fixings plus it usually has a couple specialty salads such as broccoli or taco salad. There is always at least 4 soups to choose from, nachos and cheese, usually at least 2 or 3 kinds of pasta options such as mac & cheese, baked ziti ect.), fresh baked bread and a desert bar all included in the price of the salad bar!
