Hotel Wayne, Honesdale PA

Horrible place. The front desk worker and the maid were unprofessional and very disrespectful. The carpet in the room was worn out and smelly. The bed skirt was dirty. The towel was dirty. The fridge was dirty, smelly with a dead fly on the tray. The air conditioner/heater was too close from the bed. When the heat was on, I could feel the hot air blowing on my face. The door was not secured. It needed a better lock. See pictures below. After I complained, the response that I got was, "I don't care". "I'm not going to change the bed".

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. Food was pleasant to good; some things were good while others could have been a bit better. The price was very reasonable. I will give them high marks for offering seconds that could be taken home. This made eating out almost like eating at home.
Service was polite and well meaning, but had difficulty coping with a large holiday gathering. I realize, however, it's probably hard to find extra help to work a holiday. Unfortunately, our table went unattended for extended periods. But, they did apologize. The management needs to hire people to bus the tables. The waitresses can't be expected to do it all, especially on a busy holiday.
I might try it again next year. Hopefully the service will be more organized and include busboys.

Food was pretty awful, coleslaw tasted like concentrated city water, mimosas barely had any alcohol, ordered my brisket burger medium, it was well done, basically a train wreck for the price we paid, food presentation was pitiful, you could tell the servers know all of this because after we got our food, nobody was to be seen for 15min, definitely not coming back.

This hotel was very convenient due to its proximity to the local hospital so it worked out for us visiting a family member. The accommodations are comfortable but are in need of a face-lift. There are radiators in the room but they were not on and we had to rely on portable heaters that were already there. The first room we stayed in faced main street and was very noisy. We asked to change rooms the next night and the staff was very accommodating. The second room was located in a much quieter location in the hotel than the first. The restaurant attached to the hotel is first rate and I highly recommend eating there. All in all we were comfortable, the place was clean and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We were visiting Honesdale and stopped at Bistro 1202 on the recommendation of a friend. Thanks to our friend. What a great bar and restaurant located in the Wayne Hotel. We enjoyed a cocktail in the lounge and then moved to the restaurant for dinner. They offer a nice mix of traditional and some unique dishes including several different entrees featuring their delicious brisket that is slow roasted on site. Delicious! We live an hour away but will definitely dine here again when we are in the area.

We had a very small bathroom Ibelieve at one time it was a closet in the room you couldn't even move around in the bathroom. The bathroom vanity was in the hotel room not in the bathroom the room appeared to be clean until you started looking around baseboards dirty dust ar edge of wall. Just wasn't happy with the room. Great location that's why we booked it. Very discussed. Other rooms may have been nice 207 is not a nice room for 150.00 a night.

I love the idea of what this hotel could be: I love the history and old buildings but it needs a makeover: it definitely needs new beds, they are very uncomfortable. It could use a bathroom remodel, carpet and replacement of the drop ceilings. I think if it was remodeled and they cleaned the overlooked areas: lampshades, ceiling dust etc it would do very well as a hotel because it’s close to the hospital and within walking distance to so many bars and restaurants. Also in case you were curious, no ghosts! (At least not in rooms 201 and 211)

This place should be better. When we were there 3 separated parties left because nobody helped them. Food was ok.has the potential of being much better.need some management and maybe the bartender could have a little personality

Rooms were dirty bathroom was dirty water was scalding to cold then it completely turned off avoid hotel at all costs dirty laundry outside are room piles of it just filthy

Took a lunch here and was so impressed! The food was perfect and the service was great. Super place for a lunch if you need to just get in and out!

Our party of 12 attempted to eat here tonight for dinner after being recommended Bistro 1202 from locals while we are in town for a ski tournament. Unfortunately we never got to experience it as the hostess / waitress was extremely rude to us & told us she didn’t have time to deal with our group, so we took our group elsewhere which one of the other staff members was polite enough to recommend to us after being treated so badly. It’s safe to say will never be going back here.

Beautiful historic building, restaurant inside serves good food. However, they are grossly understaffed. The staff who do work are clearly doing 3 jobs more than they have the capacity for. The staff are friendly despite these challenges - TIP THEM WELL! I would not recommend staying the rooms if you are planning to shower. The water will turn ice cold on you without any warning. Strange layout of the rooms, but it does feel cozy.

On way to Jimmy Buffett at Bethel Woods. Stopped to eat in hotel restaurant. Food was delicious and people were very hospitable and welcoming.

This is not one of those modern hotel chains. This is an historic privately owned hotel and it was one of the best hotel experiences ever. We're just in love with this place. The restaurant downstairs was beautiful and the food was definitely top shelf. We'll be back!

Good food and an excellent selections of beer. But at least on Saturday terrible service. We sat down at 7 and waited until 8 for food. The waiter never checked on us, I had to ask another server for bread, it was sad. However the food was excellent.

Let me start by saying when I entered the hotel there was no one was there to check you in. Someone tried to help check me in but couldn’t figure out how to do it. I have to give her credit for trying. Finally after getting someone who knew what they were doing I asked for the elevator and was told there is no elevator. If you are disabled or have an injury this is not a place for you. So I lugged my suitcase up to the third floor. Also the rooms were old and dirty. I don’t know when or if they were ever renovated. I should’ve realized this was going to be an interesting stay was when I read the sign over the toilet that said do not flush while in the shower. At one point Both my wife and I were in the middle of a shower when the water stop flowing from the shower-head. This place is not worth the money at any price. Stay away far far away.

I spoke upstate NY and stayed here. It was a pleasant experience. Food was good, room was comfortable. I will return one day hopefully soon. Staff were friendly

The hotel and the rooms are a horror. Dirty, rundown, poorly maintained. The hall outside my room was so dark (perhaps to not see the condition of the carpets?), I could barely see the keyhole. There were bags of towels right outside the door. It was noisy and it was just awful. The floors all slanted and the bathroom-what the hell. If it wasn't so cold, I think I would have slept in my car. Why did I give 2 stars? The food in the restaurant was delicious as was my Winter Sangria and the staff was really nice.
