Howard Johnson by Wyndham Harrisburg

Was this the same Howard Johnson’s in Harrisburg where the incoming military recruits stayed in the 80s and early 90s? Rude employees. I didn’t look for roaches (I was young and anxious about joining the Navy). I know, long time ago. The current reviews don’t look too good either.

This is the worst motel experience I have ever had. Their pictures make this look like a well-maintained property. It is a dump. It has not received adequate care or maintenance in years. It was fairly clean in the sense that it was apparent that the cleaning staff is doing their job, but the whole property is suffering from the fact that is being run as a kind of rental property with squatters living there. See my picture with grills on the patios.

There were people moving a full size refrigerator/freezer out of the motel while we there.

I've never felt so unsafe at a motel. We checked in, and left immediately and sought another motel for our time in Harrisburg. We were not comfortable staying there-so much so that we paid for another motel, even though we were not refunded for the Howard Johnson.

Avoid this at all costs.

Howard Johnson is a very nasty place I was there for almost to years, the workers there are very unprofessional, , the rooms are nasty and out dated, it's roach infected and the manager of the hotel is very inconsiderate of others, I had to leave due to his fines he owes to the state, all weekly people was informed that they had to leave, but there are still individuals that are weekly still residing there and it's not fair at all, I'm calling the city Monday

I really don't recommend it, dirty rooms, stinky cockroaches, disrespectful, and anyone who wants proof, photos or videos of what I mention, can contact me.

If I could give no stars that would be my true rating. The location was convenient for my travel but the experience was one of the worst I've ever had. A family trip was ruined by a 2 night stay with roaches and bed bugs. The manager said she cant do nothing she wasnt the owner and no refunds are available only resultion being getting another room! Breakfast options pop tarts and muffins I was still grateful but really smh? ! Overall never again and for now on I will be reading review prior to me boking.

I called howard johnson asking about the policy for check in and reservations and i was told 18 by a front desk employee over the phone. I got there at 3 pm to check in nd was told by the employee on shift i cannot check into my room bc i wasnt 21 aswell when i asked for customer service the employee gave me a dead number nd laughed. Also i still do not have my refund back. Update im now refused a refund weeks later i do not want point i never ever got the room i want my money back.

The smell in the hallway was a mix of smoking, and what I guess is mildew. Booked this on Travelocity, I'm horrified that this place was listed, and the picture was catfishing to get u in the door. The man at the desk gave me a very small refund when I said I found a cockroach in my room, I had only booked 2 days.

Mr Patel illegally kicked me out after I reported roaches and mold to Swatara township. I was given less than 24 hours to leave despite staying there over 30 days and having tenant rights. I was then homeless and tried to kill myself and filed a complaint with the attorney general. Mr Patel called and lied stating he would refund me. I have to receive anything.

This place was very seedy and filthy we didn't dare stay there we left and they wouldn't refund our money. AWFUL place and extremely Creepy! Don't let the pictures fool you!

The hotel looks like it was recently updated, but it has not held up well. The room was clean and the bed was comfy.

I was here delivering groceries. This place looks like it needs to be torn down and rebuilt. I would rather sleep under a bridge than to have to sleep here. I feel sad for the people who do

Very dirty, and roaches. I understood alot of restaurants and hotels have roaches. But most places keep them under control. This place does not. Entire hotel dirty.outside and inside both. So many damages that just made the place even look worse with how they repaired things.

This place is terrible and should be demolished. Short weekend trip with the family the hallway and room was infested with gnats the pool was said to be shut down early for the season by the county. Shower head was disgustingly filthy. The sheets didn't fit the beds woke several times stuck to the bed bug mattress cover. Upon returning home 2 roaches crawled out of our luggage. They refuse to refund me my money. This is the worst place ever to stay.

Checked in with a very nice young woman, staff wasn't necessarily the issue. The issues were the dead bug carcasses strewn amongst the floor. The live bugs were even worse, all over the bed, in the bathroom, and IN the headboard. The room smelled
and that can be attributed to the water damage all over the ceiling. The mold over the bathtub and shower curtain was the last thing I needed to see so we ended up leaving. The customer care was fantastic and helpful however I would assume its from the great practice they get from the amount of calls they get how nasty the location is. Again, all staff were kind and helpful but the location is disgusting. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

Not safe, while sleeping someone opened our door twice, I called the receptionist and asked what was going on, can you check the cameras only to be told let me check and never called me back or to see if I am okay.i couldn't sleep after that. Very disappointed
