We had a wonderful experience with Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home during a very difficult time. We had a great rapport with our Funeral Director, who was so patient in answering all of our questions – making every question, no matter how minor, seem important, and he took the utmost care in answering all of them. At the graveside, there was a horrible rainstorm, but the Funeral Director never rushed us and professionally accommodated us. From start to finish, the compassionate, sensitive, and helpful staff at Huff & Lakjer were nothing but professional, making the entire experience comforting.

They are who I called when my brother died unexpectedly and ended up at the county morgue. Every step was flawless and I highly recommend their services.

Brother in law passed. Contacted Huff & Lakjer, the stated they would assist with short for and of course death certificate. We are out of state and some companies are requesting the short form and now Huff & Lakjer states that they will not assist and we must go to the court house. This. Situation is difficult enough without being given misinformation.

Any funeral home that personalizes their services to fit their families’ needs instead of giving them a cookie-cutter services deserves a raving review in our book.
They made a really difficult day as smooth and carefree as it could be for our family. Thank you!

Huff and Lakjer have been nothing short outstanding. They are kind and compassionate at such a difficult time. They have provided services for my father, mother, and brother. Each time going above and beyond their services. Thank you for making my experience less devastating.

But when it came to our Loved one; They wanted to charge $600.00 for a viewing of her last earthly remains before being cremated. The family traveled from different cities when we heard of her Transition. We are not a rich family except rich in Love. So a lot of us didn’t get closure. All we wanted as a family was to kiss and touch her to say goodbye. We didn’t need a formal wait. We asked several times just to see her physical remains. But we were refused by the staff. This was very hard on her sibling and children that flew in to say goodbye. Her body wasn’t taken to the morgue it went straight to this funeral home. She was loved and will be thoroughly missed in our hearts. The funeral home should take in consideration the feelings of the family and realize that all people don’t have money. $600.00 is a lot of money for many people. The $3,000 plus for the cremation was a struggle for our family.
Before you allow this funeral home to pick up your love one physical remains. Check out the cost of all their charges. I can’t say how insensitive this funeral home was to my family needs for closure because of our limited income.
