Hunger Burger, Philadelphia PA

All I can say is, if you are privileged enough to get to reading market, you must have the lobster mac & cheese! It is amazing!

I ordered a double cheeseburger, fries & a fountain drink. While waiting for my meal, the employees huddled up around the prep station and pointed at me. It was pretty obvious they were making fun of me - this may not bother me personally, but it does bring up questions how this business treats their customers.

My problem is I suspect one of the employees tampered with my food.

I witnessed one employee crouch all the way down then come up and touched my burger when they were huddled together. The burger was already on the wrapper with everything so Im confused to what the additional ingredient was. I hope that I’m wrong, but I trust my eyes and will be submitting a complaint to the FDA. Food tampering with a customer’s order is egregiously illegal.

The titular "Hunger Burger" is absolutely incredible. I could describe it in great detail, but if you want to know how it is, try it for yourself. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had, every component complimented each other wonderfully.

However, the side parts (in my case, being fries & a drink) were highly expensive and not worth what you'd pay for them. If you're fine with paying extra for that convenience, get it there, but if you're willing to go somewhere else in the Terminal to get some better side stuff for a comprable price, I'd reccomend that option.

My 6 year old is very picky, but we got a crispy chicken sandwich from here and he loved it. They accommodated for him, and substituted out what he didn’t want on the sandwich and he ate it all. He said it was very good and he would get another one!

I've read the reviews about the customer service, and I must agree it isn't A1. My problem though is the horrible smell from the lobster Mac and cheese, like my lord. I thought it was just me, so I still ordered and when I went to open the container the smell was worse. I told the guy and he refunded me. I was very disappointed.

I ordered the Philbert burger which basically had special sauce cheese and bacon. I sure did get the double with an order of some awesome sweet potatoes fries I have had in a long time. Burger was very sloppy but tasted great for a smash burger. I recommend you try it out if you don't minds the wait.

Ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and liked it! Very rich and creamy but a bit overpriced for portion size. Service was quick as food was displayed and in a warmer.

Waited for ten minutes only to find out that 3 things I asked for were not available on the menu

Went there today because a friend brought me the lobster Mac and cheese. Very good! So we ask the guy that was cooking do we order here (first time at this stand) we said excuse me no response. We look up I said oh we do order here. Few minutes later the young lady took my order and as she was ringing me up. He came over and said: Just because you said excuse me doesn’t mean you will get a response quicker. We was like that’s bad customer service So I ask for my money back. I know working in a store can be rough at times but he didn’t have to say a word. He didn’t response the first time, so it was no reason for a comment. So they lost 2 sales. My Couisn hadn’t put her order in. And we were referred by a customer that comes every week. Please do better.

We ordered Fun guy and double Turkey burgers. The Fun Guy was fabulous but the double Turkey could have better much better. The customer service should be better cuz they were kinda unfriendly.

Who would have thought that a place named Hunger Burger would have the best friend chicken sandwich! Delicious!

Their lobster mac and cheese is amazing but the lady at the counter is really rude and confrontational. I didn't hear her say something when she gave me my order and because I took to long to say "thank you" she decided to tell me off and say how rude I was. I didn't even get a chance yo speak she just went in. You can't work in customer service and hate people.

Hunger Burger always has very long lines but it’s definitely worth the hype and wait. The burgers are absolutely delicious and always cooked to perfection. It’s one of my new favorite spots to go when I’m in Reading Terminal. Their lobster Mac and cheese is also really good. Love this place!

It's a great place. The mac and cheese is awesome. I catch the train from distance just to get it. The service is always professional and polite and friendly.

The best chicken burger, called Coop, I have ever eaten! Additionally chicken has no antibiotics, no hormones, and lived outside a cage. The MC and cheese pasta with lobster was also delightful. Congrats!

Wanted to love them due to their philosophy, but OMG … only two people on @ lunch on a beautiful spring Saturday? A line cook who put one burger on the grill at a time when the line was 20+ deep? A woman who ran the fryer and took orders and loaded salads and packaged to-go orders? Good food, but not worth the wait.

Staff's are VERY VERY RUDE. Burgers are not worth it, it us overpriced. Ordered Regular burger and chicken burger, chicken was too greasy and overcooked (it was burned) lettuce in both burgers were too old. Never gonna go back.

The staff is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and the food is mediocre. The place is low staffed due to the pandemic so it is understandable that you may not have enough people to assist everyone but to completely ignore customers and get an attitude when you see the line of people waiting or asking for help is very bad for the business. A simple "I will be right with you" or "I am sorry for the wait. Please give us a moment to assist you. " goes a very long way. The food is also subpar due to the lack of staffing. The one guy alone can't keep up with all the orders and the burgers come out dry with no type of flavor to them. Also, the girl handling the lobster mac had no hair net on. That alone is unsanitary. The only reason I go there is that my GF likes it but at the price point they want and the lack of customer service from the staff, I'm taking my business elsewhere. Shake Shack is right down the street. Taste way better, better customer experience, and better price.

This place was great. I got the Phil Burt burger and was delicious, the HG sauce was very good but kinda carried the burger. The fries weren't anything to ride home about, and the drinks had no refills which sucked. My main complaint is that they are way to over priced for the amount of food you get.
