Called regarding family placement and I was greater by Tiffany and she was so kind and compassionate. When the final decision needs to be made I will be calling her back.

My dad has been in memory care since March and I'm very happy with the care he has been given. The caregivers are amazing. I can sleep at night knowing he's safe.

We selected Independence Court for my 96 year old mother after an extensive review of available facilities in the area. We could not have made a better choice. Mom was treated like a member of the family from day one. The entire staff is efficient, caring and friendly, without exception. The facilities are clean and cheerful. There are activities to keep the residents engaged. As Mom’s health declined, the staff at Independence Court was there to manage her care and keep her comfortable. There are no words to express their love for and commitment to the residents. The care that my mother received far exceeded my expectations. I am especially thankful for Tammy, the Director of Nursing. In addition to providing exceptional care for the residents, she also provides support for the resident’s family. I will be forever grateful to them for the care they provided for Mom. If you have a loved one in need of care, you must talk with the folks at Independence Court.

So grateful for the entire staff at Independence Court. Timmie Roberts, Director if Admissions and Marketing, went above and beyond to assist us moving mom into their memory care unit. She never missed a step during the transition. The compassion and kindness that our family experienced was very heart warming. Knowing mom is in good hands and in a safe environment is very comforting to us. The care and compassion from the staff is top notch. They really have a love for their job and it shows.

Tammi, Director of Nursing, immediately took action to get mom on board as well. Thank You ️

Paula and Debbie, who greet you with a smile when you enter the door, are very helpful answering questions as needed. Always pleasant. Thank You

The med techs are fabulous as well as all the nurses. They are so kind and caring individuals. I watch mom interact with them and they do their best to get her acclimated to her new surroundings.

Thank you to entire staff for welcoming mom and our family to Independence Court. I know we made the right decision for mom.

The staff who have cared for my client have gone above and beyond in making sure that she has always felt welcomed, loved & important. The med techs, caregivers, activities directors, receptionists, & Most especially director of nursing, Tammy McElhose have offered so much compassion. From the day Tammy met her she became a touchstone for her. Tammy offers so much love and concern. Her big kind & compassionate heart is one of a kind & I am grateful that she has been a part of my clients journey.

My dad very reluctantly went to Independence Court for a two week respite stay while I was on vacation. To my surprise he had a wonderful experience. The Admission Director (Timmi Roberts) was extremely helpful at helping us get this set up on short notice. During his stay he said the food was very good and they supplied him with gluten free options since he has Celiac disease. Each day he went and exercised which he never does. The Activities Director (Sharon Jankovik) kept him very engaged in fun activities such as Wii bowling which he also loved. She even sent us two video's to let us see how he was doing. That was awesome! He spent time talking with other residents and really had a great experience. What welcomed relief to have him so cared for while we were away.

My family looked into Independence Courts because of a referral from someone who had their own mother residing there, Upon arrival the staff greeted my mom and quickly got her busy with the other residents playing bingo and getting acquainted with the other residents. The staff are knowledgeable and compassionate. The facility is very clean and DOES NOT SMELL! I rest well at night knowing my mom is in a SAFE and SECURE place.

I was looking at different assisted living facilities for my mother. I called Independance Court for some information. I was immediately connected to Timmi, the Director of Admissions and Marketing. She was very informative and pleasant to talk with. She also was very supportive and reassuring knowing this was a very difficult process for my family and I. She knew I was in from out of state and was able to schedule an appointment with me the next day.

Upon arrival to the facility, I was greeted with smiles and friendly staff. The facility was pretty and clean. What stood out to me and what was important was the fact that there were many residents out and about. Some were talking to each other in the common area, outside in the court yard or interacting with staff.
Our tour with Timmi was very thorough and informative. She was very patient with me answering all of my questions and listening to my concerns.

After touring other facilities, I knew in my heart that Independence Court would be a great fit for my mother!
On moving day when I arrived, everyone remembered my name and my mothers name.
They made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. All the staff went above and beyond to help us with moving in. I left that day feeling validated with our decision.
My mother has now been there for 4 weeks. She is more active and more like her old self. They have an amazing Activity program that has been a blessing for her.
They are very good with updating me on my mother’s care and status. Tammy the Nursing Director is very passionate about all her residents. She has quickly learned about my mother and her particular needs. She keeps a great line of communication open with me.

My mother’s quality of life has improved and I
can not say enough about Independence Court!

We have a dedicated staff in our building. Some of us have been
here for 25 years. Like the fact that it is 2 floors and set in a round so the
residents can always find their way. It's a lovely building.

I have been the an employee at Independence Court for over 25 years, of which I have been the Activities Director. My mother came to live here over 10 years ago. Her family did not anticipate her longevity. She truly enjoys being with people, having choices for activities, and loves sitting in the sun to people watch and bird watch. I can not express how thankful I am to see her always with a smile. The mutual respect between the staff and my mother appreciated.

I recently just started my journey with Independence Court of Monroeville. I have to honestly say, this is the best company I have worked for. The staff here was very welcoming and they treat residents and other staff members, with a great deal of respect and empathy. Families that come to visit their loved ones are very happy as well. I would recommend Independence Court of Monroeville to everyone.

Long story short, my Grandmother had been a resident here for over a decade. This is the only place she has known for quite some time. Everything had been for the most part, fine until the new company came in. The previous owners knew her financial situation and worked with my Dad to ensure she could stay, even after my Grandfather had passed. Now I understand there can be a cost increase from time to time, those aren't unexpected, however a cost increase of $2400 a month is ridiculous, especially on a 92 year old with a fixed income. Essentially we had to move her as soon as possible because there was no way she could (and I can't imagine many people would) afford to live there. Over a decade and we had to hurry her out, during a pandemic.during the cold winter months. I know this new company did not have to adhere to the previous arrangements that had been made, but $2400! I have very little complaints about her care, which I know can be shaky at best at other establishments, but I just personally feel this was just a very cold, uncaring thing to do to an elderly woman, especially with everything going on right now.

The meal plan is so fantastic. Brian has been a part of the dietary team for more than 24 years and Tony adds a wonderful spin to any recipe. He and Julie have their own virtual cooking shows. It is near impossible to find a senior community with a more engaging activities dept. Sharon and Maureen add heart to all that they do with the residents. Additionally- Sharon has tweaked this program for more than 25 years. Daily exercises, trivia, outings, cooking, planting, manicures, crafts, cards, WII bowling, contests, bingo and the list really does go on and on.

Staff treat the residents like family. There has been a shift in leadership in the building and it shows. The new director of nursing Tammy is a huge asset to the building. She was able to fix some issues occurring from lack of nursing leadership, and is always available to the residents and their loved ones around the clock. Having talked to resident’s families currently in the building, they are very happy with the recent changes and are so thankful for the awesome job the staff is doing to make everyone’s days with special touches like One- day videos, FaceTime calls and continuing to have a robust activity department despite covid limitations. The building hasn’t had any cases of covid which is rare in these uncertain times, unlike many other buildings in the Pittsburgh region. Keep up the good work!
