Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant reviews
1612: 30 on a Wednesday afternoon at lunch - takes 68 minutes for me to get one 4 sample flight of beer. Service was faster in New Orleans while it was still flooded during Katrina. How this went from being a flagship restaurant to being this terribly slow and honestly uncaring towards providing any resemblance of hospitality is beyond my comprehension.
Good food, beer is decent, but they were out of half of them. Liquor selection is less than stellar and the service leaves a lot to be desired.
The food took an hour and a half to come out and found a bug on my food the burger was over cooked and the chicken tenders were und cooked.just over all bad
Adding to my past review. We still love Iron Hill. Our waiter tonight was truly genuine in that he truly cared about us. The Country Schnitzel I ordered tonight was the best meal I have tasted in five years. The portion was just right and the taste / texture of the food was perfect. Visually the plate was stunning. Thank you so much to both the waiter and chef.or should I say welcoming host and food artist.
Past review below:
My wife and I love this place. Excellent food and amazing service. We enjoy sitting at the table near the window for the interesting view of the street. Inside the restaurant is clean with a pleasant decor. Be sure to join their
"king of the hill" rewards if you plan to visit again because the reward program is actually a "true" bargain. They upgrade your beer size and get points that lower your bill.
I really do like iron hill but last night we ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer…. It was $16 for five shrimp that were barely a mouthful, I can’t believe they would charge that! Someone needs to figure that pricing out asap
The menu sounded intriguing. So I was looking forward to good eats. I was let down a bit flavor wise. The food I ordered seemed to lack seasoning/salt. The turkey burger was a very healthy turkey breast patty, but there was no flavor. The fries were well salted though. My friend liked her pork chop, but the mixed veggies were bland.
Our server was nice. Overall not a bad place, just need some herbs and spices on the food.
Terrible management, not transparent about their rewards program that i paid money for.servers need some training.
Excellent lunch experience. My son is vegan and it looked like we might have to limit to a beer and fries. However, Johnny (our excellent waiter) brought over Richard (the excellent General Manager), who clarified what they could offer that was vegan. The resulting Beyond Burger in a pita with added condiments and sweet potato fries with a side of maple syrup for dipping was a hit. Richard showed a level of customer commitment that has earned our loyalty and confirmed my decision to join the King of the Hill rewards club! Thank you Richard and Johnny.
Sat outside, order was messes up, server had taken forever to check back on the table, refills had taken for ever, order was wrong waited even longer for food, no apology from server. Waited forever for waiter for check and see if we wanted anything else. Thinking server had way too many tables.
(Read if you are vegan)
This was a hard review to write… There are very few vegan options at Iron Hill which makes it rank lower than I hoped. In fact, there are no vegan options listed on the menu. There are, however, a good amount of vegetarian options available.
I arrived here with my father and was quickly discouraged by the lack of vegan options. Our waiter, Johnny, was very unfamiliar with veganism, but he did an excellent job overall. When I attempted to order the black bean burger, I was told that unfortunately it was not vegan and the buns were also not vegan. Upon hearing this, we were considering changing to a different restaurant. Before we decided what to do, the manager, Richard, came over to discuss options. I left my meal in his hands and what was delivered was perfect!
They served me a beyond burger, cut into strips, in a pita wrap with pickled onion, diced tomato, lettuce, sweet potato fries, and maple syrup for dipping. It was surprisingly tasty and I would honestly get it again.
Overall, the restaurant as a business should invest more effort into vegan dishes. It was thanks to the server Johnny and the manager Richard that our dining experience was turned around!:)
Was confusion with our party which was pretty frustrating. The food was good. The Sesame Ahi Tuna was phenomenal. The plate in the picture is a bit messed up because I just had to dig in! It was just the right amount of food. Loved the Hop water! If you don't drink or even if you do, I highly recommend it! Also, don't sleep on their house rootbeer!
Very nice meal and atmosphere inside. Staff was polite and friendly! A little expensive for what the portion sizes are, but still a very nice time
Yummy sweet potato fries and Brussels sprouts! Tasty Brewsky burger. Decadent carrot cake. Lots of beer options. Good service from a new young server, Dalton!
Can’t believe we didn’t start coming in here sooner! We came in a few months ago and weren’t greeted at all. To be fair we didn’t stay more than a few minutes because the whole place felt very dingy and run down so we left. After striking out a lot down bridge street we decided to give it another chance and came in a few weeks ago. We have been back every Saturday since! No joke! We sat at the bar to avoid being overlooked again and are very happy we made that choice. Angela is fantastic. She gives perfect service, knows what she’s doing, and makes dangerously good drinks. It’s really hard to find a good bartender these days. These kids just don’t seem to know what they’re doing (ironically another bartender we like is also named Angela, funny coincidence). What surprised me the most is the food is really really good! Giving five stars because you guys hit all the marks where it counts but I think the restaurant would benefit from some sprucing up.
Maybe the food is better inside but the takeout is gross. Stale and cold. I got the wrong side and they claimed I never asked for it. The side I did get was inedible it was so stale and cold. Rude management. Won't order again.
Incredibly SLOW service. Restaurant was not even half full and it took nearly an hour to be served after ordering. The food came out in three separate portions. One entree came quickly, four others came 40 minutes later, and the last after another 20 minutes. While the food was good, the service was awful. Not worth the wait. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. Edit: I changed my rating to three stars since the food was good and they discounted the bill
